About this property

Large Family Lake Home on Deep Water

*New for 2021* Amazing backyard renovation with new sod yard and fire pit overlooking lake (see photos).

Home is on deep water in private cove. We are located minutes off exit 177 on I-85.

Our home is perfect for your family gathering or sharing a vacation with friends. There are three bedrooms upstairs which include the master (King bed) with private bath, and two additional bedrooms which share a full bathroom (one queen and two twins).

The remaining two bedrooms are located downstairs. One has a king mattress with new bedding and the other is a bunk room with two sets of bunk beds (4 twins). Both bedrooms share a bathroom.

There is a large upstairs family room with plenty of books, games, and DVDs to keep you entertained when you need a break from the sun or to wind down after a great day on the lake. Or you can enjoy a movie on one of the flat screen Smart TVs located in the upstairs great room OR in the separate living area downstairs.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with all of your cooking and baking needs including pots/pans, crockpot, low country boil stock pot, hand mixer, blender, muffin and cookie tins, cake pans, casserole dishes, as well as serving platters. Walk out to the deck from the kitchen and you will find a large gas grill for convenient outdoor grilling. Don't feel like cooking? You can enjoy Tilly's Tiki Hut located at Harbor Light Marina which is a 3 minute drive from the property. There are many other restaurants in the area as well. We are happy to provide suggestions!

Enjoy eating al fresco in our screened in patio overlooking the lake. Seating includes dining for six and a seating area with a couch and two chairs. The patio has two ceiling fans to keep you cool.

There is a game room in the basement to keep the fun-at-heart group occupied with ping pong, air hockey, can jam, or a basketball game.

There is a paved pathway to the deep water dock where you can enjoy fishing or swimming in the lake. (A golf cart is on property, but is not available for use or rent.) We are located on a cove, so there is very little boat traffic.

The owner's boat is stored on a lift at the dock and is not available for rent and will not be moved. However, the marina is right around the corner where you can rent a boat or you can bring your own watercraft. The boat launch is located one exit North and is a five minute ride to the property.

You may use the paddleboat that is stored on the dock, but please note that a $500 replacement fee will be charged if there is damage to the boat.

Fun at all the house

My children and I only get to see each other once a year and this weekend at your house was it for 2023. We loved it. Everything we could want was there. The house, the lake ,and all the amenities made our time together one to remember. We would definitely come back.

Family vacation

We had a wonderful stay! The house was large enough to accommodate 6 adults and 6 children. The owner John checked in frequently to make sure we had everything we needed and was quick to address any issues we had. The house was as advertised and more, couldn’t get over all the games and books available to use. The one thing there was no picture of was the amazing screened porch we ate dinner on every night. Also, we did family pictures and the back of the house had the perfect stone steps for a backdrop. Our whole family agreed this was one of our best vacations to date!

Great property!

This house was a perfect setting to host 12 family members for Clemson University graduation. Reasonably close to campus on a beautiful lakeside setting. Super clean, lots of space to spread out, and as the kids called it, "a cool kid cave" downstairs with a variety of games that kept them entertained for hours. Everything you could need in the kitchen for cooking. Firewood for the firepit (perfect for smores). A beautiful back porch for lounging. The pictures don't do this home justice. The owners were very responsive and quick to fix a blown fuse. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Location

Our family greatly enjoyed our Thanksgiving week here. The house was large enough to accommodate our wide range of ages of adults & kids. Everyone had their own private sleeping space with very comfortable beds & bedding. The basement had ping pong, air hockey, and plenty of lounging space to watch tv. We were blessed to have good weather & enjoyed the fire pit area on several evenings. The owners were extremely helpful throughout our reservation process. We would love to visit again.

Great house

We enjoyed our stay. It rained most all weekend but it didn’t even matter. There was plenty to do inside the house. Basketball, air hockey, ping pong, puzzles, board games and more. The mattresses, pillows, bedding and towels were top notch! That was very appreciated. The kitchen is well stocked with all you’d need to cook. We will be back!! Thanks for a great weekend!!

Lots of lake activities included - peddle boat, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing., and when indoors, the kids had tons of things to keep them occupied. Loved the screened porch for dining. The owner was very responsive to our questions.

This is a beautiful property and the second time we have stayed here. There is plenty of room for 10 of us and lots of entertainment for the kids. The owner is very accommodating and attentive to our needs. It's located in a quiet cove on the lake and convenient to restaurants. The firepit is sensational.

Love the Lake House Life!!

Wow! My family and I can’t say enough about this wonderful lake house! Beautiful home, convenient location, just perfect! We all felt like we were “at home.” The owners were amazing!! John touched base with us when we arrived to make sure all was good, and followed up with us during our stay. They have everything there that you need! Plenty of space, activities for kids/adults, games/board games, outdoor equipment for the lake. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina around the corner. So convenient!! We have already talked about doing another trip to the lake house! Thank you again to John and his family for allowing us to stay at their lake house!!

Perfect family getaway on the lake

We stayed a week with two families. Six children ranging in ages from 10 to 19. Everyone had so much fun. The house is perfect for families. There is a rec area downstairs that has air hockey, basketball and ping pong. The kids really enjoyed this space. They also liked the pedal boat. The adults liked relaxing by the lake. The house was clean, well maintained, and as pictured. The owner was very nice and gave me his cell number to reach out to him if we needed anything. Turns out our boat broke and he was right there with recommendations on who could fix it which is nice to have when you are far from home and don't know any of the local mechanics. He even followed up with us and showed he was genuinely concerned about our broken boat even though it was outside of his responsibility as an owner. That shows me he is an owner that is willing to go above and beyond what is required for his guest. Great experience! We want to go back already.

Nice DragonBoat Retreat

My mother, sisters and I enjoyed this property. It was more than we needed. The main level was perfect for us. Larger families would enjoy the benefits of the basement playroom and lakeside area. The walk to the dock was too steep for us. The driveway is also steep so care must be taken with older guests. However, everything was well stocked and provided for those who wished to take advantage of water sports. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable. The owner was very responsive.

New Year's Family Time

Our host was very gracious to rent his home on short notice. Which provided a chance for us to spend family time at the lake, and we were quite pleased with the comfortable & spacious five bedroom home. Enough seating for 10 at the dining room table for us to enjoy meals. Open concept with lots of space. Would rent again, we had a great stay!

Great Family Home

We had such a great time in this home! John & Lily were quick to answer and helped with a few minor glitches right away. My kids enjoyed the games, the paddle boat, fishing off the dock and a fire pit for s’mores! There is a huge stock of board games for all ages, movies and just a great family feel! Plenty of space for us to spread out as well.

Wonderful Rental for a Getaway to the Lake

This Lake Hartwell home has everything you need for vacation. Lots of toys for the lake; paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boat, magic carpet and life jackets. Great outdoor covered porch with dining table, chairs and couch and an additional fire pit area overlooking the lake. Lots of games in the basement for entertainment and plenty of quality beds and seating for the whole crew. We would definitely stay here again.

Can’t beat location if renting a boat!

So close to the marina, which saves you hours of back-and-forth time during your trip. While it is located right off 85, you don’t hear the traffic. It was so easy to get there from Atlanta. We highly recommend this location, it’s even better than the pictures appear. We love a well-stocked kitchen and so appreciate the abundance of things like sandwich baggies, tinfoil, dishwasher soap and detergent, lots of hand soap and toilet paper, etc. So many rentals short you on that these days, or don’t include them at all! John is a fabulous communicator and goes out of his way to check in with you and make sure everything is correct and what you need. If a steep hike from the lake to the rental is out of the question, then this rental may not be for you, so check with owner if there are any health issues that are challenges before booking. We loved that they put sound machines in the upstairs bedroom because they are right off the kitchen and you can hear noise if your family is loud in the morning. Ours wasn’t, so we didn’t mind that at all. The circular driveway is so helpful for loading and unloading multiple cars. The games upstairs and downstairs were the BEST time-filler when we needed a break from the intense heat wave we were having. The screened in porch is lovely and has a second dining table for our family group of nine. Lastly, being able to put a bunch of littles in the bunk room is a space saver! The abundance of water toys and beach towels was the icing on the cake. You won’t regret this jewel tucked back in a private cove! We’ll be back.
