SLEEPS 8 | 3 BEDROOMS | 2 BATHROOMS

THE CABIN
This fully furnished 3-bedroom retreat sleeps up to 8 guests comfortably across a king master suite, a main floor queen bedroom, and a lower level queen bedroom — each with its own character and charm.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for home-cooked meals, and the dining area seats the whole group. The spacious living areas flow naturally to the outdoor spaces where the real magic happens.

THE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE
Outside, the private hot tub overlooks the creek — one of the most breathtaking spots to relax in all of the Black Hills. The bar area with Bluetooth music system is perfect for entertaining. A scenic walking path follows the creek through the property, and the water is ideal for trout fishing right on site. A wood-fired experience and outdoor grill round out the outdoor entertainment options.

The property also features "The Hut" — a unique bonus entertainment space and sleeping loft that guests absolutely love.

SEASONAL HIGHLIGHTS
Summer: fish the creek, soak the hot tub, hike the Flume Trail
Fall: brilliant foliage surrounds the cabin, bighorn sheep are most active
Winter: snow-dusted pines, cozy fires, peaceful seclusion (4WD recommended)
Spring: rushing creek, wildlife everywhere, wildflowers on the hillside

HISTORY
This property is steeped in remarkable local history. The original Flume Trail — built to carry water to the gold mines of the Black Hills — runs behind the cabin along the mountain. At the front of the property, the old railroad that operated in the late 1800s and early 1900s once passed right through. And the bend in the creek nearby was a traditional camping area for Native Americans — a peaceful, storied spot with centuries of history beneath your feet.

WILDLIFE
Keep your eyes open — bighorn sheep are regularly spotted on the hillside across the creek, bald eagles soar overhead, and a wonderful variety of birds make this area home year-round.

PARKING & ACCESS
Free off-street parking on site. Self check-in via smartlock — your code will be provided prior to arrival.

PLEASE NOTE
Like most properties in the Black Hills, this home uses a well system — completely standard for the area. In winter months, 4-wheel drive or AWD is recommended for the lower parking area.

Host profile image
Hi, we're Jennifer and Robert — passionate travelers, proud Black Hills locals, and dedicated hosts with over 8 years of experience creating memorable stays for our guests.
Robert is a former Army pilot who still flies for the love of it, and we spend our winters at an airpark in Texas before heading back to the beautiful Black Hills each spring. We've seen a lot of the world, which is exactly why we know what makes a great guest experience — the little details matter, the space should feel like home, and you should never have to wonder if your hosts care.
We do.
The Black Hills are our favorite place on earth and we love sharing them with visitors from all over the world. Jennifer has a passion for photography, family, and our dog, and brings that same eye for detail to every one of our properties. Many of the best features in our homes came directly from guest suggestions — so never hesitate to share your thoughts. We genuinely love hearing from you.
We respond quickly, we go above and beyond, and we'll always do our best to make your stay exceptional. Whether you're here for a weekend adventure, a family reunion, or a Sturgis Rally trip, we're honored to be part of your journey.
Hope to see you soon!
Jennifer & Robert

We chose it because nowhere else can you step outside and fish for trout, watch bighorn sheep graze across the creek, and be just 1 minute from Thunderhead Falls — one of the most beautiful and visited attractions in the Black Hills. You're 15 minutes west of Rapid City, close enough for convenience but far enough to feel completely immersed in nature. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, and the Badlands are all within easy reach, making this the ultimate Black Hills base camp.

What makes this property unique

Where else can you soak in a private hot tub with a creek flowing below you, fish for trout steps from your back door, watch bighorn sheep and bald eagles from your property, and be just 1 minute from Thunderhead Falls? This cabin is genuinely one of a kind. Add the historic Flume Trail running behind the property, a Native American camping site at the creek bend, a bar area with Bluetooth music, "The Hut" entertainment and sleeping loft, and over 8 years of Superhost-level hospitality from your hosts Jennifer and Robert — and you have a Black Hills experience that guests return to year after year.
