This was an ideal property for our family of 4. We visited Port-En-Bessin to see this particular area and to travel to other attractions. The gite is located on a very quiet quai with parking and was a very easy walk to many restaurants and cafes, small grocery stores, a bakery and many local specialty shops. The gite itself is very well equipped; with everything you would need to cook, or relax for an evening in. Geraldine was an excellent and welcoming host and provided us with ideas for "must see" places , a lovely welcome basket. as well as being extremely understanding when our arrival experienced some hiccups. We were able to visit Bayeux (the tapestry and Cathedral are beautiful, eat at the little sandwich shop outside of the museum), many of the landing beaches (Juno has a very interactive Museum), Arromanches, Saint Mere Eglise (very good Airborne Museum), Monte-Saint-Michel (arrive very early and it is quiet and beautiful), and Dinan. If you visit a Chateau, remember that they are still inhabited and there fore have very limited hours. Driving in the area is easy with the aid of a GPS or Nav system.
I would highly recommend this lovely little property and hope to visit again someday!
