We rented for my daughter’s wedding. The houses were welcoming, and there was plenty of room. The property gave us everything we needed, and my daughter’s day was perfect! Sam was very responsive, accommodating, and patient (so many details in wedding planning). I would recommend this property and Sam for gatherings large or small.
The property really is beautiful and remote. We had a family weekend with extended family traveling from all over. The house was perfect for what we had planned for the weekend and the host was quick to respond to a problem we had connecting to the wifi. If you are looking for quiet and privacy it is perfect and can accommodate a large group.
This stay was an awesome opportunity for my Engineering club to get together and get to both know each other better, and learn more about upcoming responsibilities.
It was a great house, much larger than what the pictures were. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the property was massive. There's two houses, just FYI.
The host was accommodating and supportive. We were on a staff retreat and this space offered us exactly what we needed to connect. A perfect getaway! We will use this facility again! The hot tub and game room are amazing!
This property was amazing for getting away from everyday life and enjoying the outdoors. The house was properly stocked as one would expect and had a 3 bedroom guesthouse newly remodeled. We loved hiking nearby and exploring the property grounds. Will definitely recommend this to friends and family. Sam was very responsive both upon checkin and checkout.
The place was serene, very clean, and spacious, def must see IRL to experience in the actual beauty. We had a large gathering over the holiday weekend and the space fully accommodated our group and the house was stocked with everything we needed. Overall everyone had a great time and we all enjoyed being outdoorsy. The host, Sam was responsive and accommodating. 10/10 would stay again when we return to Frazier Park.
This house is amazing! Our group has come 4 years and each time the house seems to have nice improvements. We enjoyed the new bridge that was built recently. The house is always clean and stocked with towels, blankets, pillows, etc. Sam the host is always attentive and answers all our questions. Thanks again for the lovely stay. 5 stars all around. We will be back again!
There were 12 of us staying at this beautiful cabin. This is absolutely the Best place to visit with a large family. There are so many things to do and see and you are very close to the snow for some great sledding. The views are endless and tons of space for everyone. We all voted this will be our yearly reunion from now on. We have found our home away from home cabin.
Sam, the homeowner, is very attentive and you are in for a wonderful experience staying here.
Owner was extremely accommodating. The house was just perfect for our reunion. Plenty of room inside and out, well equipped, fun game room to keep all ages entertained. There are actually two houses. The guest house is a little bit of a trek for unstable walkers. Really nice bath towels. There us a great butler pantry to keep all the food you bring for a large event. We will stay here again.
Took our 16 of our graduating high school seniors and 8 of our leaders for a church retreat and this place in INCREDIBLE! It slept 24 of us comfortably • the location backs up against a forest • the house(s) are beautiful, comfy, and perfect for large groups because it is spread out without feeling lost. Sam the owner was so helpful, responsive, and really helped us have a wonderful weekend! Oh, and it was just 10-15 minutes from the perfect snow day of sledding! I couldn't recommend this place more and will hopefully be back! Thanks again!
We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and hosted our wedding ceremony here. This place was everything we could have asked for and more. My fiance and I were looking for somewhere our wedding party could stay and split the cost. There was a total of 18 of us split between the 2 homes and there was an abundance of space to spare.
Sam was more than accommodating and always got back to me quickly with any questions I have.
I will say anyone that visits needs to keep in mind that this place is large and in the woods. This is perfect for what my now husband and I were looking for. We were really big on being in the wilderness but sleeping comfortable.
We had a wonderful time at Sam's property, and he responded very quickly to all questions. Checkin was a breeze - and everyone in the extended family, ages 10-78, found the property to be enjoyable. Plenty of room to explore for the kids and teens and we found a great trail about a mile and a half up the road. The house was extremely spacious and well stocked with cookware. The only reason I rated 4-stars instead of 5 was that a few key items were not functional: half of the main refrigerator, the large living room fireplace and the basketball game in the basement. That said, there were nice notes on each from the owner apologizing - so he is aware and I am sure will be fixing shortly. We would definitely stay at this place again!
This is the second time we have stayed here for Christmas and again our family had the most magical Christmas experience at this location—a place that felt like it was plucked right out of a holiday fairy tale. From the twinkling lights adorning the property to the warm, inviting interior, every detail contributed to creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
The kitchen was a delight for our family's culinary adventures. It was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare our Christmas feast. The modern appliances and ample counter space made cooking a joy, allowing us to create delicious meals while bonding over shared recipes and traditions.
This location provided the quintessential setting for a memorable family Christmas. Its warmth, charm, and thoughtful touches made it feel like a home designed specifically for holiday celebrations. For families seeking a magical getaway to create cherished Christmas memories, this place is an absolute gem.
We came with 31 of us for a family reunion and enjoyed the large gathering space, comfortable bedrooms, and beautiful grounds. The bunk room has 3 sets of queen+twin bunk beds, so we had 14 kids sleeping there! The other rooms each have one queen or king bed, so additional beds are mats on the floor. The dining room's set up for 10 people, but there's room for folding tables to be set up in the great room just beside that. We all ate simultaneously between the two rooms. The great room is lovely for a lot of people to hang out comfortably; the layout lends itself to several smaller group conversations for the most part, but you could set up folding chairs to make a meeting space for a large group. The rec room was awesome!
The kitchen had almost everything we needed. There were even enough plates and silverware, and we could put all 31 plates and silverware sets in the dishwasher. The kitchen was a great work space for several people cooking or cleaning at once. The small indoor fridge space was inconvenient, but the fridges in garage and 2nd house provided enough space. We had an unpleasant surprise at check-out: there's no plan for recycling (the bin was full and host said we should throw it away.) We care about the environment, so we packed out as much as we could. The grounds are beautiful, especially with the snow we got. Bring car chains even if snow is not predicted! We loved the beautiful hot tub! Overall, the house had a lived-in feel which put us at ease to relax.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - MAKE A "RODENT FREE INTERIOR" HOME AND WATER CONTRACT WITH HOST
TERRIBLE INDOOR RODENT INFESTATION-NO WATER after 2nd DAY! Unacceptable! Disgusting!Upon arrival at 9PM, Friday, rodents ran free throughout hallways, kitchen, living room and couches. With 10 guests on site and others arriving we pressed forward to make the best of the situation, hoping rodents leave! After all, we drove 100 miles to get here.At this point, 12-16 guests were expected for a multi-day party. We carried on as scheduled hoping the best!We loaded the dishwasher with pots/pans/utensils as feces were found in drawers! We stored our food food/belongings, as high and safely as possible. The fridge needed interior repairs. On Saturday morning, we found feces atop food containers inside lower cabinets. Disgusting! We contacted the host first thing Sat morning and his solution was rodent glue trap delivery! Well, we caught them! Imagine awakening to rodents struggling in glue traps on your kitchen floor as you attempt to make your morning tea/coffee!We carried on, unable to go elsewhere. We decorated the outdoor space for Sat evening festivities and worked throughout the day to cook/BBQ for the event. What else could go wrong???Well, the water well went DRY at 2PM, Saturday! No water! Host offered an inferior property, smaller/insufficient (20 mins away) as a solution. He provided both properties until Tuesday (since we already payed). We left a day early! The story goes on, only 1500 characters to write review.PLEASE VRBO AT OWN RISKHost offered no refund!

Unfortunately the water well pump had an issue that’s not our problem but I gave you another equivalent property 10 minutes away and you were occupying both properties at the same time even after the water was back and you still asked for a refund or you’ll give us a bad review? Totally not fair.
We were excited about this property, but our experience was deeply disappointing. Before our stay, we asked Sam to confirm there was running water, and he assured us there would be. However, upon arrival, we learned from the property manager Marc that we had to conserve water as the tank was low. Later we found that the guesthouse had minimal water, making it impossible to shower or flush toilets. Guests had to use facilities in the main house..
Safety was another concern. While crossing the suspension bridge, we encountered four feral dogs, posing a risk, especially to my toddler nephew who was surrounded. Sam dismissed this concern, showing a lack of awareness about guest safety. We found hazards like exposed rebar and a poorly maintained property overall.
Cleanliness was lacking—there was visible mold, dust, and broken fixtures. Refrigerator needs repairs, the space appeared poorly maintained, tub not level. Garage smells like something died. Main room contains cat dander; those with allergies suffered. The property, marketed as a "luxury rental," was far from it, with trash left from previous events and unclean sheets.
Despite raising these serious issues, Sam's response was inadequate, claiming the property was well maintained. Given the long history of these problems noted in past reviews, it’s clear that concerns have gone unresolved for years. Sam did offer a $300 refund, but we will not be returning and urge future renters to be cautious if expecting a luxury stay.
