South Ocean Villa is a new property located in the heart of the South Coast on the beach. It is 1,200 square feet of tile, marble, and coral. It shares the same beach as four of Barbados finest resorts including the Barbados Hilton. The unique location and design by world famous architect Ian Morrison, offers breathtaking views of the entire South Coast of the island with no obstruction, and it is possibly the finest view on the island. The property sits literally in the sea and affords some of the most intensely beautiful sunrises and sunsets to be found anywhere. Its location on the main road insures that you can walk to any of the many restaurants, shopping centers, banks, and grocery stores in the area. Public transportation is located right out the door. With over 50 years experience on the island, we can help you maximize and economize your visit to our special "paradise." They just completed a new government Boardwalk which links the Hilton Beach with Rockley Beach. It is about 2 miles long and is a great place to jog, walk, and explore along the sea. Truly a beautiful addition and it is located right outside your door.

Enjoy the sound of the surf off one of your two balconies. Swim in the private pool and bask in the sun on the private sundeck. Venture on the beach to swim in the sea or walk for miles.

Enjoyable Experience

The unit itself is very nice. It had everything we needed. The air conditioning was excellent as was the wi-fi. The view is outstanding. One caution: if you rent a car make it small because the parking space is difficult to navigate.

Exactly as Described

The hosts and Shakinah, the property manager were great! The sunsets from this unit are amazing. Walking distance to several restaurants. The property is literally on the beach, but the waters are rough and not for swimming. However a 5-10 minute walk and beautiful beaches available. Had an issue with bugs, but then it is the Caribbean.

BEAUTIFUL CONDO AND LOCATION- GORGEOUS VIEWS

We stayed at this condo for 2 weeks in February. The weather was fantastic and the views from this condo are so amazing! You can watch the turtles from the balcony of the condo while having your morning coffee - yes the water is THAT clear! The condo is big and clean and it had everything we needed and we had an issue with the A/C upon arrival but Mark was on this for us and took care of it! The only downfall we had was no beach chairs or umbrella and going over to hotel down the beach to use theirs, the security guard said no you aren't a guest here you can't use our chairs. They are for guests only and I guess they were full occupancy and their guests have been complaining of having nowhere to sit by the beach. So we spent our time mostly at the pool/sundeck at the condo. Then when we wanted to cool off- we went out to the ocean and floated in the beautiful clear waters. The people on the island are very helpful and friendly. We walked to most things but also took the little white ZR vans to get around. They are all over and cheap and some are very entertaining to be on with the music. We also walked over to the horse track, which is a fun experience as well. So thank you Mark and Susyn for sharing your beautiful condo in paradise with us. I sure hope that some day we can come back again. WE would stay here again in a heartbeat if returning to Barbados.

Fantastic place! Million dollar view of the sea!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa. We were literally right on the beach. It doesn’t get any closer or any better. The water was calm and clear every day. It’s great for young kids as it’s nice and shallow. The actual unit is on the 6th floor. There’s an elevator. The unit was impeccably clean upon arrival. It’s a spacious and fully equipped apartment with everything we needed to cook for our stay. The two bedrooms and bathrooms are good sizes. It has two balconies, both with spectacular ocean views. There’s even an ocean view from the bathroom! If there were other people in the building, we could not hear them and we barely saw anyone else in passing. There’s an underground parking space available which is handy (although we didn’t need it). Within walking distance there’s one restaurant- Blakey’s (5 minutes) and if you walk further, there’s KFC and Chefette (like McDonald’s). There’s no need to walk in the heat though. We used the ZR or Jitney. It’s a local mini-bus that runs about every minute. The cost is $3.50 Bds or $2US. They will provide change and stop where you need. Just tell them where you’re headed, and they’ll let you know if they’re going that way. The music is loud and it’s crowded but we loved it. The city bus is the exact same price but you need exact change and they stop only at bus stops. They don’t run nearly as often. Mark and Susyn were gracious hosts and replied promptly and sent workers to fix anything if needed. W

This unit is an excellent location for the perfect vacation. The view is magnificent and the airflow through the unit was priceless. The building is also very secure and the premises, from the shared patio/pool area to hallways and elevators, very clean.

Perfect place.

This is one of the best places to stay on the island, if not the very best. It is close to several restaurants, it is on the boardwalk, it has beautiful views, and Mark is very responsive to all requests. It is clean, well equipped and has great security. I hope that very few more people find out about this place because we intend to stay there as often as we can, and certainly would stay no where else on the island . KLD

Great Stay at Beautiful Villa

My sister and I spent our annual "sister week" in Barbados and this year we stayed at the South Ocean Villa. In the 11 years that we have been coming to Barbados we have never had a boring time. The country and the people are warm, beautiful and interesting. This year I have to add that the two bedroom unit we rented made the stay all the more joyous. Waking to the sunrise and sitting on the balcony watching the sunset are lasting impressions non the beauty of Barbados. My sister and I have found "our space" and look forward to renting the unit in the coming years.

Delightful stay in a beautiful villa and location

A beautifully decorated and clean villa accurately described and shown on rental sites. Kitchen had everything required and beds were very comfortable. Very clean and well maintained building. Very easy and efficient communications with both owner and local property manager. Location was the best! Used the boardwalk every day for taking a stroll, relaxing. Villa is very central to super restaurants (Tapas, Buzo among others), lovely beaches (Carlisle Bay), the race track, and Bridgetown. Many of the east and south coast beaches had a problem with seaweed while we were there, but there were many other options available close by and along the west coast. Thanks to Susyn and Mark for allowing us to enjoy this lovely villa in amazing Barbados!

Beautiful place

The view was absolutley beautiful, and everything was neat and amazing. The boardwalk was great to walk at night, if you want to find a nice cheap or expensive bar/restaurant on the way you can. (We recommend Oasis Bar) Easy to contact the owners, and overall a wonderful experience. Unforgetable!

Beautiful view, very comfortable unit

Was extremely happy with our accommodations during our 3 week stay at South Ocean Villa, unit 601. The view was amazing, the turtles swam by in the morning. We would go take a swim in the ocean steps away and come back for a cold drink on the patio and pool area. Staff was excellent and the furnishings and appliances were all very satisfactory. We would rent this unit again in a minute. Thank you for the hospitality.

Three weeks in Paradise!

Beautiful, clean, spacious condo that offeres everything you need to enjoy great holidays! We loved every minute spent in it! Cooking dinners, having a glass of wine , watching incredible sunsets and admiring beautiful views of the sea ! Truly an amazing location that offers steps to the beach, boardwalk and a pool! We loved watching turtles and stingrays from the balcony! Great communication with the property owners Mark and Susyn! Nice Condo

Had a fabulous time at the condo. Well equipped and nice space. Location is good. Close proximity to lots of stuff and right on the ocean. The boardwalk being right in front gives you the opportunity to not have to walk on the road which could be dangerous based on the speed some of the vehicles are going when they pass thru this area. Would definitely recommend this space for anyone interested in visiting Barbados. Missed the sea turtles, none to be found anywhere.

Exceptional Experience and Great Hosts

What a gorgeous place, Mark and Susyn were amazing hosts. They truly know how to make the trip easy with their extensive itinerary and recommendations. The villa was spotless, very comfortable, and so close to everything. Hastings is the perfect area to be because you are right in the middle of Bridgetown and St. Lawrence Gap. Also being close to the airport and Oistins was amazing. We loved the walk to Dover and Carlisle Beaches and all the fun bars/restaurants on the Boardwalk. The amazing view from the Villa also made us able to spot the sea turtles right from our balcony so we were able to run down and swim with them. Mark and Susyn were also very helpful while we were there and responded to our emails quickly to help us with certain questions. I can't wait to go back, thanks again for the best honeymoon! Awesome home away from home ❤️❤️

We stayed here for a little over 2 weeks, best choice ever. My kids and husband loved it, the view from the balcony is awesome, we even saw turtles swimming, the villa was nice and clean, no complaints, we enjoyed the ocean sounds at night. Even though the beach was right there we enjoyed our morning walks to Accra beach, not too far and great excercise, which you need if you plan on eating the awesome Island food. The owners were very friendly and didn't lie when they told me that I would have a great time staying there. Hoping to return next year.

A fabulous spot!

This was our 5th year staying in the "Boardwalk" area of the South Coast and our first at Mark and Susyn's place. It was by far the nicest location we have had! In fact, it is hard to imagine a better location in the area. The unit sits on the 6th floor on the East side of the complex which gives it the best views and the most privacy of any of the units in the building (except for the penthouse above). The owners were very pleasant to deal with and their attention to detail was outstanding. The place was clean and very nicely furnished. Air conditioning was unnecessary with the lovely ocean breezes whistling through the place all day and night. The pool area was quiet and immacualtly maintained. We spent mornings counting the turtles in the sea and the evenings toasting the sunsets all from the very private balcony. A wonderful and memorable month!!

Perfect location. Great unit.

The unit itself was spacious and bright. Exit one side of building and you are on the boardwalk at the beach. Exit the other side and you are on the main road close to restaurants. The AC in the main area was disabled but the overhead fans kept it comfortable. AC in bedrooms worked very well. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Crop Over 2016

We have stayed at this condo 2 of the last 4 years we have visited Barbados The location remains idyllic---near the beach, secure, near restaurants and shopping! The actual condo is also “nice”---2 bedrooms, kitchen, living area, two balconies with an ocean view! Noticeable problems have, however, become obvious: minor rusting on the refrigerator and door locks can easily be fixed; while there, the AC in the small bedroom was fixed so that it blows cold air. However, the biggest problem is that the living-family room area’s air-conditioning has been disconnected! Indeed, the air-conditioning in BOTH bedrooms operate, but the AC in the main housing areas has been disconnected (by order of the owner). This means that---because very few individuals spend the majority of their (in condo) time in the bedrooms, the heat in the larger part of the condo can become over-bearing! I can understand why (perhaps) the disconnection was made—too many renters leaving it on for too long! However, that should not be reason enough to “punish” those who have (in the past) followed the instructions to turn-off the AC when not in the condo or to leave the AC on for all “hours” of the day. There were miserable hours spent in the main housing areas. Perhaps a “timer” would be beneficial in preventing mis-use!

Family Vaction

This was our first time doing a vacation rental through VRBO and Home away. Being from Barbados born and raised, we knew the area we wanted to be in where we could enjoy the beach, family and friends. And this was ideal. Mark made the booking experience very easy , and was professional, he answered all our questions in a timely manner and provided an over abundance of information in regards to his unit and island . We even switched our usual car rental company to one that Mark suggested . The apartment view was awesome and hearing the sounds of the Ocean was very relaxing The apartment was very clean and spacious, it has a beach, casual homey feel . Not glitzy and glamorous but the way a beach setting should be. Upon arrival we noted a few issues that had to be corrected, contacted the property manager , Laila and she responded promptly and the issues were rectified in a timely manner and it did not interfere with our vacation schedule. The living room AC did not work, but this was not missed, as we took advantage of the ocean breeze which kept the unit comfortable. and a Rum Punch helps to keep things cool One thing to mention, we rented a car to visit family and friends, its great having an indoor secure parking spot, just be prepared to utilize all your parking skills, as the garage is challenging to negotiate. We would enjoy breakfast and sometimes lunch on the veranda and head out for dinner . Would definitely recommend this unit being Beach front and updated good value for the money .

Ladies on Spring Break

For 5 years we have been vacationing together during our spring break and wanted a new location. And what a location this was!! Right on the water, clean, and spacious. The owners were quick to respond, provided wonderful information, and assured everything was perfect. By far this location was the best. They are not exaggerating when they say you will love the views. We had a very relaxing time and also found plenty to do when desired. The security provided by locked gates and doors was a comfort. We would do it again!!
