The cabin is 8 minutes from Stillwater, 40 minutes from the Mall of America, and 30 minutes from the Twin Cities.

Description: Newer log-sided house with a large covered front porch and back deck, surrounded with old oaks, maples, pines. 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, washer and dryer, game room for kids foosball, and arcade games.

Golf: There are 4 golf courses within 10 minutes from the cabin.

Biking and Walking: The gateway trail is less than a mile from the cabin. This trail is an old railroad track which has been paved, it also has an unpaved horse trail. The trail goes east to Stillwater and west to St Paul.

If you are looking for a burger and a beer go north about a mile to Sal's Bar and Grill. For German food and beer head south about a mile to the Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter Restaurant. Or you could just stay at the cabin, have a campfire, and roast hot dogs and make s'mores in the fire pit.

Great Cabin In the Woods!

This cozy cabin was just the perfect place to stay to get away from it all yet being close to all the areas we needed to get to. An added bonus was the woodland creatures we were able to view right in the backyard.

Although we didn't use it, nice game room. Loved the front porch with plenty of seating, nice deck off the back as well. Comfy living room to watch an evening movie. Secluded place but easy access to Twin Cities

Beautiful wooded lot. The home has vaulted ceilings, great decks in the front and back. It feels like your in a very secluded area. But so close to wonderful attractions. We went to the Mall of America, St. Paul Science Museum then back to the relaxing cabin. We spent an afternoon at the beach on Square Lake its crystal clear water and a large beach. I highly recommend this place for families.

Cozy cottage with beautiful nature

It was cozy and had a variety of beautiful birds in the backyard ... even a family of turkeys! So fun. We had all of the cooking things we needed. The beds were so comfortable. Perfect for a five-person retreat. Close to Stillwater to take in the boutiques. Half hour from airport. Hosts were great. Perfect stay.

Peaceful Retrreat

My family & I enjoyed a wonderful week at the Cabin in the Woods. The location is far from any road noise but close enough to trails to enjoy a ride, run, or walk in the woods. During our stay we saw turkeys, deer, black squirrels, and even a pileated woodpecker in the yard. The rooms were comfortable. We senior citizens did not take advantage of the many amenities available for the younger crowd but can imagine that those age groups would approve. All in all it was a delightful & relaxing visit with family.

Excellent home away from home

We stayed just a couple of days, but it was a wonderul stay! Everything was very clean, cozy and quiet. The wildlife in the back yard was a sight to behold. The entire house is well-stocked and everything worked well. It was just a short drive to Stillwater and 36 and had wonderful tracks for running nearby. We came to this rental very short notice (maybe a day?) and still everything was clean and welcoming. Thanks a lot!

Why they chose this property

Grant City is a small rural community just northwest of Stillwater about 8 miles. It has one of the largest horse populations per capita in the U.S. If you like to bike, hike, or horse back ride. The Gateway Trail has a paved and gravel trail that is less than a mile from the property, it goes from Stillwater to St Paul.

What makes this property unique

When cutting grass or doing maintenance on the cabin when there are no guest, I will always take a break on the front porch and watch the birds, turkeys, deer, and of course the squirrels. In the winter it is like a wonderland after a snow fall. All the trees are covered with snow and there is just a silence in the air.
