About this property
Uptown half-double near Magazine St shopping
3 bedroom, 2 bath home in one of New Orleans' best neighborhoods. Walk to shops, restaurants, bars, and parades! 2 blocks to Magazine Street, 1/2 mile from Saint Charles Avenue, and a 10 minute drive to the French Quarter, SuperDome and JazzFest.
Beautiful turn-of-the-century 3 bedroom, 2 bath half-double home. Centrally located, on the border of the Irish Channel & Uptown neighborhoods. Everything is at your fingertips! Caddy-corner from the house is Atchafalaya restaurant, serving delicious traditional New Orleans cuisine, cocktails and a Jazz Brunch on weekends with a full bloody mary bar. Walk two blocks to Magazine Street, and you ll find a grocery store, a drug store and miles of restaurants, bars, galleries, antique and clothing stores, snowball stands, bakeries, cigar shops, music venues, chocolatiers and much more! A few blocks farther is St. Charles Avenue, where you can enjoy Mardi Gras parades, or take a leisurely ride on the streetcar past ancient live oaks and mansions on your way downtown, to Audubon park, or the Riverbend neighborhood. Bourbon Street, Frenchman Street, JazzFest and the Superdome are all a 10 minute Uber away. The location really can t be beat.
We lived in this house for years before moving 3 blocks away; we couldn't leave the neighborhood (we can walk everywhere).
Each bedroom is independent (not shotgun style).
- 3 bedrooms: A master downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs; each with a king bed. Upstairs bedrooms on either side of a staircase and may be difficult to access for the mobility-impaired
- Each bedroom has high quality sheets and down comforters
- 2 bathrooms, one with a shower/tub combo, and one a shower only, both downstairs
- Dining room seats 6 comfortably
- Family room with flat screen Roku TV with local channels, Netflix
- Backyard with deck and patio, and a propane grill. Small, but plenty of room to have a meal al fresco. Backyard is shared with guests on the other side of the double.
- Hi speed wifi
- Ample free street parking
- Owners live three blocks away, and are happy to offer recommendations on how to enjoy New Orleans! We love eating out and listening to live music and have some very strong opinions on the best places to go. Although we are built-in travel guides a few blocks away, you likely won t need us ... walk to Magazine Street and you re all set! Come visit New Orleans. We know you ll fall in love with our house, our neighborhood, and our city!
Travel crib and other baby/child equipment is available upon request - please notify us in advance if you would like it in the home.
You'll have the whole half of the double to yourself! The backyard is shared with the other side of the duplex, but there are separate seating areas.
We live two blocks away, and are happy to offer recommendations on how to enjoy New Orleans!
Just about everything you could want within walking distance. Lots of character, and within a 10 minute drive to all the city's major attractions.

About the host
Hosted by Jessica D
We moved to New Orleans in 2003, bought this home in 2007, and now live a couple blocks away. We love our city and our neighborhood, and are excited to share it with guests!
Why they chose this property
We bought this home as our first home together - we love the neighborhood, where we have dozens of restaurants, stores, bars, and a grocery store all within walking distance. We lived here for years before moving a few blocks away to a larger house with more room for our kids.
What makes this property unique
We love watching the world go by from the front porch swing while enjoying a glass of wine on a hot & humid New Orleans summer evening - strolling to Magazine street for some window shopping - and catching Jazz Brunch at Atchafalaya across the street.
