About this property

Private Riverfront Cabin with Rare Swimming Hole – Minutes to Greenbrier GSMNP

Welcome to River Rest Cabin, a rare riverfront cabin on the Little Pigeon River in the Great Smoky Mountains—where the river isn’t just something you admire from the porch, it’s where your vacation begins.

Set on two private acres, on the edge of Pittman Center and Sevierville, River Rest Cabin is one of the few level riverfront properties in the Smokies, offering a sprawling lawn, walk-in river access, and a private swimming hole where families can swim, fish, tube, kayak, skip rocks, or simply relax by the water. Unlike many Smoky Mountain cabins perched high above the river, you’ll enjoy easy access to the shoreline and room to spread out, play, and reconnect with nature.

Live on River Time

Morning begins with coffee on the deck as mist rises from the Little Pigeon River.

Spend the afternoon tubing, kayaking, fishing for Rainbow Trout, exploring the riverbank, or cooling off in your private swimming hole. Children can run and play across the expansive lawn while adults relax by the river.

As evening settles in, gather around the fire pit, roast marshmallows beneath the string lights, and watch the stars appear overhead while the river provides the soundtrack.

These are the moments guests remember long after vacation ends.

About the host

Host profile image
I was born and raised in Gatlinburg, and I spent my entire childhood growing up in the Smokies. I moved to Texas in 2015 when I got married to my husband, Clay. We had our daughter in 2018, and I wanted to have a place that we could call home when we visited. We bought River Rest Cabin and its 2 acres in the fall of 2018, and it was the perfect cure for my homesickness! In 2020, we decided to move to the Smoky Mountains and call Gatlinburg home. The cabin is a very special place where I hope my guests enjoy nature, have fun year-round, experience mountain hospitality, and explore all the beauty surrounding my hometown. It's true what they say... the mountains are calling!

Why they chose this property

I've driven by this property a million times growing up, but when we found it was secretly coming for sale, we flew up to buy it the next day! It's such a rare cabin surrounded by farm land and located on a pristine piece of property on the Little Pigeon River right on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Famous for its trout fishing and gentle flowing waters, the Little Pigeon River is our HAPPY PLACE. I want to share the cabin with you and yours so that you can experience why our family and guests find it so special!

What makes this property unique

River Rest Cabin is unlike any cabin in the Smoky Mountains. It's ON the river, meaning completely waterfront, while being surrounded by untouched farm land in total privacy. There's even a unique swimming hole, the original "Riviera," on the property that has been enjoyed for decades or more. Yet, the cabin is in the middle of it all, being less than 20 minutes from almost everything you would want to do in the area. It's the best of both worlds being in the midst of the most beautiful place on Earth, the Great Smoky Mountains, with adventure and relaxation at your doorstep!
