About this property
Right on the Little Pigeon River! Listen to the sounds of nature!
Located in the exclusive Riversong community in the hamlet of Pittman Center this three bedroom, three bath cabin is perfect for your Smoky Mountains getaway. Situated on the Little Pigeon River, it offers a welcome refuge from the crowds of Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, while still being just minutes from each. The cabin also enjoys close access to the Greenbrier entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, just two miles upstream and home to one of the Park’s best swimming holes, the hydraulics, only 100 yards inside the park boundary and enjoyed almost daily by the owner (in summer, of course).
If you’re looking for your perfect basecamp, this is it. Enjoy hikes in the park to Ramsey Cascades, an old farmstead up Porter’s creek, or take the long way up to the peak of Le Conte. Summer activities include tubing down the river, collecting fireflies, and blue-ribbon trout fishing right outside your door! And when you’re done with the day's activities, relax in the hot tub or sit on the deck overlooking the river while steaks sizzle on the grill. When you’re ready to call it a day, open the sliding glass doors from the master onto the screened in porch and drift to sleep while listening to the sound of the river.
Newly available to nightly rentals, this property has been the primary home of the owner during the pandemic as he evacuated London. He has made significant improvements to the home over the last couple of years since it was last on the market.
Hiraeth, a welsh word that roughly translates into ‘a sense of longing for home’ is what best describes this cabin to the owner. Raised a mile upstream in Emert’s cove, the owner is both a native of Pittman Center and a British subject and has paid attention to every detail to make this cabin his country retreat, part Smoky Mountain, part Cotswolds.

Great location-easy drive- close to town. Very beautiful surroundings- nice to explore. Pam very easy to work with. A lovely house- hope it’s available to rent for years to come! Thank you!
Overall we enjoyed our time at this cabin! The only things I’d say need improvement is the sectional in the living room is not very comfy and old and there is no ice maker. Also, the water in the hot tub needs changing. It had a smell. The view of the river is amazing! The beds are comfortable and it is very clean!

Sam,
This is a very delayed reply to your review, but thank you for sending one. The ice maker is repaired and we drain and clean the hot tub between each and every guest so I am not sure what was up with that. Please do come back to see us again when you plan to come to this area.
We come to Gatlinburg multiple times each year and stay somewhere new each time. This one is by far our favorite and we will absolutely be returning!!
The river access was amazing, and cabin was gorgeous, well stocked and clean.
It was a very beautiful cabin right on the river. Everything was more than expected, but it had a weird smell in the kitchen when we arrived. 10 out of 10 recommend, and we will definitely be back. We really enjoyed our stay.

Quiet nature, beautiful cabin.
Fabulous place! Very comfortable home, great beds. Cabin was right on the river so you could hear the rushing water from the balcony. Will be coming back to this one!

Absolutely amazing property. The river is literally just steps out the back door and there is even a tiny or Little River for some puddle jumping right out the back door. This place was Heaven tucked away in the mountains.
We had a wonderful time. It’s obvious that the owner has maintained this property to the highest standards. The kitchen is well stocked, the view and sounds from the river are phenomenal, and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Would love to go back! Amazing property and awesome location convenient to everything.

This property was amazing- the location was great for us as we wanted to do things in both Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. The kitchen was nicely stocked as well as the bathrooms. We absolutely loved being on the river. Pam, the property manager was a delight and quick to respond.

We enjoyed the creek and river very much. The kids had a blast! They lived the upstairs kids loft. The kitchen was fully stocked and some! The area was quiet and secluded. Easy to get to all attractions. Will definitely be back!
My grandchildren and I very much enjoyed our visit to your lovely cabin. We had plenty of room, enjoyed grilling and having dinner there while my grandsons enjoyed the Little Pigeon River. Didn't catch enough fish for dinner, but they enjoyed trying.

Everything we expected, this listing nailed the description. We loved everything about it. Would definitely return! My kids loved having the river in the back yard, we even seen some deer.
We were looking for the peaceful, soothing sounds of a river flowing over rocks and that is exactly the environment this property provides. We spent most of our time relaxing and reading on the deck while enjoying the site and sounds of two rivers rushing directly behind this home.

This VRBO had everything we needed from spices and utensils and bedding to a nice grill, comfy beds, and a hot tub that felt great after a day of hiking, zip-lining and horseback riding. Loved the stream and river directly behind the house. We were treated to nightly shows of fireflies from the amazing and large deck. The house was remote enough for privacy but just a short drive to the national park. And, the roads were well paved and in great shape (which isn’t always the case with other properties in nearby areas). We would definitely recommend this property.

About the host
Hosted by Pam Burnup, Manager
The owner of this property lives out of the country so my name is Pam Burnup. I am the manager of the property. I answer your inquiries and take your reservations, as well as manage the cleaning and maintenance for this property. My objective is to see that your stay at our lovely property is the best it can be. I vacationed in the Gatlinburg area for 20 yrs before moving here 15 yrs ago. I always stayed in a cabin/chalet so I have an idea of what I liked and needed as a guest. I hope my experience proves to pay off during your stay.
Why they chose this property
I love this property! The Riversong area, the wooded private location, the sound of the river, and the great floor plan with split bedrooms for privacy are exceptional, as well as the newly added loft bedroom suite for adults or kids. Plus, the location for easy access to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville is fantastic.
What makes this property unique
The first unique benefit is a rental right on the river. It is hard to find a rental on the Pigeon River. Usually owners buy the properties and keep them for themselves and their families. The river is stocked three months out of the year with trout so fishing is quite good right in the backyard of this property.
