About this property
Serene home with spacious deck and views - perfect to relax near Acadia !!
A recent review~
"On a mountainside with sweeping views of Somes Sound, this home’s location is exquisite. Beautiful sailboats, a family of bald eagles a few trees down the shore. Bird song in the morning. Serene quiet at dusk. A porcupine family shows up occasionally crossing the driveway and a fox appears a couple of times.
The house is warm and very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Beds are so comfortable. Everything works beautifully. Wonderful porch one could just live on. Hosts are always available and easy to reach. Property caretaker is completely reliable and a great guy. Acadia Lodge is
heavenly." ~G.S.
This extraordinary, shorefront, custom-designed home in the historic Hall Quarry area of Mount Desert Island, made with indigenous materials fits gracefully into the shoreline of Acadia National Park against which it abuts and Acadia Mountain on which it is perched below. With stunning views of Somes Sound from nearly every room, take in the parade of handsome cruising yachts and racing sailboats while relaxing by the fire or sitting on the expansive deck. This well-designed and light-filled home features open beams supported by mountain cedars and an open layout with a gourmet kitchen. With three floors of living space, this special home offers the utmost privacy without compromising space in which to gather and entertain. Guests to Acadia Lodge will surely enjoy the views from any one of many spots - the sunny deck facing the Sound, the north or south side porch, or the outdoor patio with a fire pit sheltered under a cliff. And when it's time to venture away from the house, follow the granite steps to a private dock with two moorings. National Park hiking trails can also be reached directly from this property and swimming from Echo Lake's beach, ledges or Ike's Point is just a few minutes away by car. All in all, with so much of the national park nearby and is within 10 to 20 minutes from the villages of Southwest Harbor and Bar Harbor, Acadia Lodge offers the peaceful benefits of the "quiet side" without giving up convenience to the Park or to the shopping and dining each village offers.
Rents Saturday to Saturday during peak summer season, with a 4 night minimum during spring and fall.
