A very pleasant house. There’s a terrace with a trellis by the pool, so you can enjoy breakfast and meals in the shade overlooking the pool. The whole property is set in a wooded area (olive and orange trees) in a small, somewhat secluded village. There’s also a good “taverna” in the village with a terrace offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
Douliana is a small traditional village, 22 km away. It lies east of the city of Chania, in a region of great natural beauty. This village (one of a total of 300 in Greece) has been designated a “NATURA” national area of natural beauty, while maintaining agriculture as its primary activity. The old houses have been renovated for holiday rentals and offer a glimpse into traditional life throughout the seasons. (Olives and oranges in winter, vegetables and fruits in summer, wine in fall).
There are two taverns serving traditional Cretan cuisine and a small market with local products. Heliopetra consists of 5 studios and 3 houses in total, built to ensure privacy and tranquility, with terraces overlooking beautiful countryside and the sea in the distance.
Nearby beaches: the road from the village—a 3-km drive towards the waterfront, surrounded by forests—leads to the nearest beaches. Kera is 2.5 km away, and Almirida or Kalives beaches are 3 km away, where you’ll find supermarkets, newsstands, restaurants, bars, and sports facilities.
