Cabin was clean and stocked with almost anything we would need, the beaches were close by and were fabulous. Hosts made sure we had everything we needed! Also, the screen porch was a family favorite!! Definitely would stay again!
Our hosts were amazing. Very kind and welcoming. They were quick to respond to any of my questions or requests. The cabin is beautiful and had everything we needed. There was lots of room for our family. Great place for kids (and our dogs). There was also a nice surprise of a welcome goody basket filled with treats. The cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The property is great with areas to explore and a beautiful firepit area for fun family evenings around the fire. And there are also so many activities close by in Victoria Beach to enjoy. We loved this experience so much we are hoping to come back in the summer.
Well maintained property. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to cook. Beds were comfy. Everyone was busy everyday seeing the sights of Victoria beach and exploring all the trails and beaches
Very nice cabin with a big veranda and a nice layout. Lots of seating, comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, good BBQ. Two good tables for board games. Having two bathrooms was helpful. We liked having the extra room of the basement too. Very short drive to the VB restricted area.
Second time staying at this lovely property and we really enjoyed it again. The host is great and the cabin has everything you need to make yourself at home. Will definitely book again!

Thank you Kelly! It was such a pleasure hosting you and your family. You are model guests! See you again!
This is a great rental, with lots of privacy. We enjoyed our stay, just a 10 min bike ride from Victoria Beach restricted area.
We had lots of fun playing pool and enjoyed spending time in screened in area.
Lots of space for the whole family. Would def rent here again.
Had lots of fun exploring!! Host was quick to reply. Lots of access to cooking utensils/cups/plates/utensils was nice not to have to bring all that with! Very impressed with everything!
Away from main site, yet easy access to beaches, community center, store and a few restaurants. Quiet evenings in pastoral setting. Extremely clean with all required amenities - we only had to rent a WiFi router for basic access to internet (good cell coverage). Owners quick to respond to any queries to make out stay most comfortable and enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again!

Thank you! We appreciate the respect you’ve shown for our family home and that you left it so clean at check out. It was a pleasure hosting you! Please come again!
We enjoyed our stay at Gaye place. The home has lots of space and everything you need and more. The beach is close and the kids loved playing on the sand dunes and swimming. We enjoyed our nights around the fire pit and a raining day hanging out in the large screened patio area. Lots of activities for the kids and adults to enjoy. This place is really fantastic! You have lots of privacy, yet close to everything. We can't wait to come back next year!
4 adults and 2 children stayed with space to spare. Was everything we wanted. Too many movies to choose from!! The pool table was a bonus and we loved the vintage Board games. Hosts were very accommodating bringing us an endless supply of wood for the big fireplace in the common area. Convienently close to the Snoman trails.

Thank you Beth and family! You were wonderful guests and left our place so clean and tidy, it’s hard to tell someone was there! Please come and stay again!
I can’t say enough good things about this place. We had such a good time. The location is perfect, close to everything. The best part was the veranda, we could sit out there when the weather was not so good and still enjoy the outdoors. Our host was exceptional. Always there is we needed something. Although we didn’t really need anything because she thought of everything. Definitely recommend this place
Wonderful family vacation at Victoria Beach Property
Loved the spacious cabin, great bedrooms and bathroom, beautiful property with plentiful wildlife, easy walk to the beach, fabulous veranda, and gracious hosts. Our group had seven adults, three children under age 2, and two dogs during our three-night stay. There was room for all to read and relax, with space to play games, entertain the little ones, and enjoy our meals together. Well equipped home in every aspect. While we didn't make a fire in the fire pit, we did use it as a sitting area for a family lunch. All around great time at this well-maintained and attractive property. Thank you, Gaye and Brian!
This accommodation offered everything we needed to host family and friends: comfortable beds, newly renovated bathroom, large, thoroughly equipped kitchen, many different seating options for dining and relaxing throughout the day, plenty of good bicycles for exploring, and the list goes on. Best of all was the silence. Because it is located just outside the restricted area of Vic Beach and surrounded by bush, we were never disturbed. It is completely silent at night, so everyone was able to sleep with windows open, fresh air, and silence. The bedrooms are in a wing of their own, and those who wished to visit later into the night never worried about disturbing those who wanted to sleep.
This home is located on the peninsula, so regardless of the condition of the water on the lake, there was always an easily accessible beach that was perfect for swimming.
It was apparent to us that this house has been designed to accommodate people of all ages and has been well cared for over the years. Finally, our hosts were attentive, but respectful of our privacy. Gaye responded quickly to any requests we had and made us feel welcome to settle in with care as we would in our own home. The expectations of the responsibilities of both host and guests were clearly communicated, so we knew exactly what was provided and expected on both sides.
I can't recommend this home more positively for a comfortable, quiet stay.

Thank you for the lovely review! It is very rewarding to have guests who appreciate the property and its tranquility as much as our family does.
Marlene and family were ideal guests, incredibly respectful, friendly and kind. The property was left spotless upon checkout and very evident they took great care with the home. Marlene was very communicative and let us know when they needed something so that we could respond and ensure their stay was comfortable, which as a host is very much appreciated. We hope to see Marlene and family again!

The hosts were welcoming and very propt and pleasant when asked about anything. The cabin was cozy and perfect for what we were looking for. We really enjoyed the fireplace inside. So much that we didnt use the outdoor firepit.Thank you very much Gaye and Brian
We had a wonderful vacation at this property. The cottage was super clean, spacious, and well- maintained, with a large private yard. We enjoyed the pool table, bikes and rainy day activities. Our favourite feature was the extra large screened-in veranda. It felt like you were outside, but without the mosquitoes. The owners, Gaye and Brian, were super nice, welcoming and helpful. The cottage is an easy 10 minute bike ride to the VB restricted area, or a short walk to two other beaches. We highly recommend it and hope to rent again!
This cabin exceeded my expectations! It is very spacious and has everything you need. The kitchen is very well stocked, including many gadgets that came in handy. The bathroom is nice, clean and newly renovated. The wrap around veranda was one of my favourite areas of the place! Really nice to sit and relax in the evening and not have to worry about bugs. There were several bikes in a variety of sizes which my family loved. Unfortunately, we did not get to use the fire pit do to the fire ban but it was still a beautiful area to sit and enjoy the surrounding trees. Gaye was very good at responding to my messages promptly and made check-in and check out a breeze! We will definitely be back!
This place exceeded our expectations. The veranda, which isn’t really shown much in the photos was our haven. It was huge and perfect for morning coffee and reading while listening to the birds and watching for wildlife.
We appreciated that everything was labeled, organized, and easy to find. It really felt like home.
I do recommend bringing your own bikes or getting the VB parking pass to drive in to the main lot if you want the best beaches. We were fine with that but if you are hoping for a quick walk to white sandy beaches, this cabin might be a bit too far out. But on the plus side, you get complete privacy and a great big fire pit area everyone can huddle around at night. On the rainy days we enjoyed playing pool and watching a few of the old movies they had.
My one recommendation would be to have a few more fans, one for each bedroom. We were lucky it was mostly cool at night but the first day was sweltering and the AC didn’t really get into the bedrooms.
Also, the third bedroom didn’t have a bunk bed, it was two double beds which for us, was even better. Definitely plan to visit this place again!
We thoroughly enjoyed spending time at this Victoria beach cottage. The cottage was well equipped and quite clean. The owners were very friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect! We enjoyed exploring the area! Victoria Beach, Albert Beach and Sandy Bay were only a few minutes away by car. The cabin is nicely nestled in its own little area and the children loved playing outside. The big veranda gave us the opportunity to get fresh air while feeling like we were sitting outside. It was perfect for all age groups. There was a very nice fire pit area which would have been wonderful to be able to use during the evenings but unfortunately the heat and extreme dry weather produced a fire ban. We would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away and relax. We certainly will consider going back. Thank you Gaye for the possibility of such great family time!
Evelyne and family
We had a great stay in this very clean, roomy, home away from home. The screened in veranda was amazing and spacious. The pool table was a hit and the deer every evening on the yard was a real treat. Of course all the fantastic beaches near by were also the highlight.
The family really enjoyed our stay. The location was fantastic and so was the cottage. The kids really loved the pool table in the basement. We look forward to returning!

About the host
Hosted by Gaye & Brian
Victoria Beach, Manitoba, Canada is home to my familial roots. I have enjoyed travelling to some wonderful places which has given me an appreciation not only for how other people in the world live but also a greater insight into the truly special nature of the place I come from as well!
As the family stewards of the home built by my father in the 1960s, my husband and I are proud to have restored and maintain this solid cedar cabin. It was the place of many a family gathering at "the beach" which holds special memories for us and hopefully new ones for your family too! Let our cabin be the gateway to your family memories-in-the-making in a cozy private setting that is ridiculously close to all of the fun stuff.
Why they chose this property
Historically known as “Little Elk Island”, Victoria Beach (VB as the locals call it!) is a peaceful peninsula along the south basin of vast Lake Winnipeg boasting white sand beaches and biking/walking trails in every direction. Just off its north shore, is VB’s larger neighbor, uninhabited Elk Island Provincial Park where visitors love to hike and explore. Home to water activities of all kinds, Victoria Beach’s sugary white sand beaches are well renowned for their beauty, size and tranquility. With glorious lake on all three sides of this small community, water play is never far from reach. Low population means there is no overcrowding, so it’s quiet & peaceful and there’s plenty of room to find your zen, chill out and de-stress. The summer fun of sunbathing, swimming, boating, tennis, pickleball, sailing, golf & biking give way to glorious fall activities of forest bathing, yoga, photography, hiking, cycling, and campfires. In winter, snowmobiling, X-Country skiing, outdoor rink skating, toboggan hill and ice fishing rule. There is fun for anyone, any time of the year!
What makes this property unique
Greenglade Getaway is on 14 forested acres of sunshine & serenity, next to Lake Winnipeg and located on the historical site of one of the longest operated Fur Farms in Canada. Natural monuments throughout the property pay homage to an earlier thriving industry that once employed the majority of settlers here at Victoria Beach. Fur farming marks a great achievement of our small community that was the largest producer in Canada throughout the 50's and 60's. Today, the property is perfect for families who want room to play away from the fray. This expansive property embodies the perfect blend of openness & natural wilderness. Private trails throughout the property give guests added access to connected community trails and magical forest bathing opportunities for those seeking quiet reflection and meditation.
WINTER SETTING: Gorgeous and peaceful, with snow-covered pines, this private property is yours to get away from it all, yet to have grocery, beer/liquor, restaurants, skating, curling, skiing and sledding close at hand. The beautiful Victoria Beach X-COUNTRY SKI trails and groomed SNOWMOBILE trails can be accessed directly from the property. Play all day and return to a cozy warm cabin with fully functioning wood burning fireplace and a generous supply of FREE FIREWOOD. Make memories playing board games or pool & snooker in the lower level recreation room, with bar island and bar fridge.
SUMMER SETTING: There are open spaces for outdoor play and tall forest to enjoy especially when the setting sun washes the pines tops in golden light. Loads of wildlife can be enjoyed from the large picture windows and wrap around screen veranda while the sound of waves from Lake Winnipeg remind you that the lake is only 500 meters away. It is quiet as a campground at night with the perfect unobstructed view for enjoying the moon and stargazing from the large fire pad in the yard. Wake up to a chorus of birds and the sound of the waves on the lake.
