Stunningly situated on 28 acres of private land overlooking Cadillac Mountain to the east and Blue Hill sunsets to the west, this beautiful, brand-new, three-story chalet sits atop a hill with fabulous views and easy access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. This secluded home is perfect for families seeking a tranquil escape. It offers two levels of glass overlooking the mountains and plenty of space on the large first-floor 'Cadillac' patio, the second-floor 'Mountains' deck, and the third-floor 'Sunset' deck to soak up the sunshine and wonderful views! A full kitchen with modern appliances is available, as are plentiful dining space and a stone propane fireplace for wonderful nights spent at home.

This private home sits at the end of a half-mile paved road at the top of a 500-foot hill, just 100 feet from the boundary of Acadia National Park and a short drive from the Eagle Lake trailheads.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). We had the best family stay at this wonderful hilltop home. Cannot say enough good things about the home and location. Within minutes of many of some of the most amazing Acadia trails. Brand new and very clean home. Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a well stocked kitchen at a rental property— made for very convenient family cooking. Amazing views of Cadillac mountain. Very secluded and peaceful setting.

Beautiful Bar Harbor Home

This home was absolutely beautiful and very clean. It was the perfect home for our family get together. We utilized the fire pit, fireplace, and all of the fun family games in between our daily hiking trips. The kitchen had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

We had the best time in Bar Harbor at this lovely home away from home. It was so cozy and comfortable. The house was well stocked and had everything you might need and then some. It was close to town and gave us such amazing views of Cadillac Mountain and the Acadia National Forest. The star gazing at night on the large deck was simply amazing and our favorite to end each day. We now have such amazing memories to cherish and will definitely be back in the near future. Thank you!

Private Acadia home base

This was a beautiful home base that was central to everything we wanted to see on Mount Desert Island. There is lots of room to spread out, and gorgeous views in every direction with comfortable decks and outdoor seating. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a private home base to explore MDI.

Beautiful Home, Excellent Environment

We had a wonderful stay at "Acadia House at Stone Haven". Six of us spent 5 days and enjoyed the big deck for morning coffee with idyllic views, and the spacious great room when it was a little rainy. We had s'mores around the firepit one evening. It's close to Carriage Roads in the park and a short drive to Bar Harbor village.

Perfect house for Acadia

Thank you so much to the hosts for making their beautiful home available. My husband and I spent 3 days exploring the park and the harbor areas with my parents. This house is perfectly situated between park sites and the towns while also feeling incredibly secluded. The views from the windows are unmatched and it was great to start the day with coffee overlooking Cadillac Mountain and to end the day with a beverage with my parents watching the sun go down. The weather was a bit damp, but we still made the most of the experience. I highly recommend biking along the carriage roads and the hosts provide many excellent hiking recommendations in their welcome materials. The last night we finally had a bit of clear skies and caught glimpses of the Milky Way! We’re already seeing how we can make our way back to Acadia again and would love to stay here again if it’s available.

Great view and location

My friends and I stayed in this lovely location for our annual girls trip and were very happy with the house. We were comfortable, the house was clean, and we made great use of the back porch facing Cadillac Mountain. My only complaint is that there are no blinds in the downstairs rooms, only sheet panels. Since these rooms face the east, we were woken up at 5:00 every morning! We also had an issue with the back slider not locking. It took over a day for the management to respond and then it was never addressed during our stay. Besides that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, spent time in Bar Harbor and Acadia, and are lobstah every day!

Love This Place

The Acadia House, aka Cadillac Mountain Overlook, is a beautiful home. I believe it is only a few years old, so everything is still in new condition and well cared for. The entry floor has a large entry foyer with one nice bedroom that has a double & single stacked bunk bed and a full bathroom. The living floor is impressive with an open concept design, with a huge great room, high ceiling, large dining area and great kitchen fully stocked with newish appliances and plenty of utensils, plates, etc. On this floor are two good sized bedrooms, with master bath and a half bath. There are plenty of chests for clothing storage. Up a full flight is the large loft area with a small balcony, a couch and large TV. The home is situated at the top of a private road, and is ideally situated in the middle of Mount Dessert Island, so access to anywhere on the island is perfect for visiting local towns and attractions, such as Acadia NP. Bar Harbor village is only about a 10 minute drive. When we arrived, we found the home to be spotlessly clean. The owners provided a very well organized loose-leaf binder containing instructions for everything you need to know when occupying someone else's home. Even though we were there for only a few days, we felt very "at home" here. We highly recommend staying at this lovely home.

Perfect Vacation Home!

Beautiful, well-appointed home in a terrific location on MDI! The setting is exquisite in terms of its privacy and vantage point with a direct view of Cadillac Mountain. We made great use of the outdoor spaces/decks for dining and sunset viewing as well as the fire pit. The thoughtfulness of the Owners’ is obvious in terms of the care and upkeep of their home as well as the detailed “tip” book they provided with recommendations for everything from dining to hiking. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return!

Such a lovely place for a vacation!

The house and outdoor space were gorgeous. We made great use of every room, the grill, decks, fire pit and swings. Location is fantastic too. We had a hard time getting in touch about an issue with the front door but it did not negatively affect our experience. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!!

Best Way to Enjoy Acadia and Bar Harbor

A stunning, new house with all the amenities. The upstairs is a gigantic, open room with view of Cadillac Mountain. We had a great time hiking all the trails of Acadia.

vacation without A/C

Great place, excellent location, very clean. We were a little surprised of the lack of A/C. The first couple days were humid and sticky in the house. After that it was OK. I never thought to check; I just assumed a house of that size and quality would have A/C. Apparently its not that uncommon to omit A/C from houses in this location...oh well. Nonetheless a very positive experience and we had a great time.

Lovely new home!

This place had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation! It was comfortable and spacious and quiet with a beautiful view of Cadillac Mtn from the deck and gorgeous sunsets from the loft and balcony. The location is perfect for easily accessing all that Acadia has to offer. We felt right at home!
