Restorative stay in aesthetically pleasing, spacious, clean home
We loved our stay. Aesthetically pleasing, spacious, and clean home with high quality furnishings and all the conveniences. Fully equipped chef’s kitchen. Wrap around deck with open restorative views. Large family room with entertainment system and comfortable seating for movie nights. Owners very responsive to the few questions we had during our stay. We hope to come back soon to this oasis in the woods.
Lovely home nestled in quite hills of Columbia County with amazing views. We were looking for a quiet escape and found exactly that. The house has a lot of character, room to spread out, and feels like you're living in a luxurious treehouse. Kelly was a fantastic host, easy to get in touch with, very responsive, and provided a lot of great background information about the area. We had a wonderful stay at this property.
Perched atop a private gravel road, this forest retreat is an oasis of calm. The enormous kitchen is well equipped with every culinary device and space for several cooks to work. This large, modern house offers ultimate privacy with room for guests to curl up alone with a book or enjoy the wrap-around deck, large screen TV, hot tub or fire pit together.
The photos tell the story!
Wonderful house. Well equipped. Very comfortable. Terrific deck with spectacular view.
Everyone who visited was impressed.
Owner readily available and responsive.
Would definitely stay there again.
My husband and dog Ellis really enjoyed our stay... the house is clean, spacious, well-furnished, comfortable, and the owners were very accommodating. If you are looking for a restorative getaway in nature and quiet - this is it. I can't wait to stay here again.
This was the perfect spot for the pandemic scene change we needed. The view from the master bedroom windows alone was worth it. Rural hillsides, farms, forests. The hot tub was a real treat, and the house is very comfortable. Hillsdale and surrounding towns offered plenty to do, as did nearby Catamount ski area for a morning of spring skiing, and the Berkshire towns of Great Barrington, Stockbridge, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We had a wonderful family vacation at Kelly's place. It was spacious and comfortable. perfect for relaxation, family fun, and time enjoying the outdoors and beautiful surroundings.
Everything about our stay was fantastic!
The linens and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked. And the hot tub was primed and ready for use! The setting was spectacular! Our hosts also provided very useful information about the area including restaurants, hikes and other activities. This was one of the best places we have ever stayed!

Melissa was the perfect guest. She was easy to communicate with and left the house looking as as if it hadn’t been stayed in! Would definitely rent to her again and highly recommended her to others.
Had an absolutely fantastic stay at this house. The house is lovely and the property is private, offering the perfect relaxing escape from city life. Kelly, the owner, was an excellent communicator and accommodated a few extra requests we had. Highly recommend.

I used to work from home, so the house is set up with 2 office areas. The desks are positioned in front of large windows so seeing wildlife is a really nice distraction. This home has been in our family for over 30 years. My decorating style is mish-mash quirky. I try to arrange rooms that feel good when in them. The house has good vibes.
Why they chose this property
It's a 2-hour drive from NYC, straight up the Taconic. I used to work in NJ, and I loved my drive home. Starting out in traffic to being the only car on the Taconic...it was like the stress fell away as I got closer to my exit.
Most times of year you can't see the neighbors. And they can't see you! The property is heavily wooded, and yet offers great distant views of the Taconic Range.
What makes this property unique
Unique to me, means no other house has what mine has. Lots of homes have beautiful views. Mine has an incredible view from nearly every room, including two bathrooms. It even has a 400 lb., wood-carved Buddha keeping watch over the kitchen.
I have lots of sitting areas in the house. I call them "venues". My husband and I enjoy picking our cocktail (or mocktail) hour venue and enjoy the view it offers. Some inside, some outside. It's a nice way to end the day. Or start it.
If you have a pet that we approve, it's important to know our yard is not fenced in. However, the deck is massive. My little dog has a really fun time chasing anything we toss for him. I like knowing he can run free, but still be contained. I believe it's 900sf.
If you are interested in birds, this is a good house to view them from. I provide bird books for reference.
