Escape to The Hen House, a unique farm-inspired hexagon cabin nestled at the base of Limbaugh Canyon in beautiful Palmer Lake. This bright and airy open-loft home offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort—ideal for families, couples, or a peaceful getaway.

Spectacular Experience

Truly wanted for nothing. Amanda’s attention to detail and functionality made this a great time. Area was so peaceful back in the woods but 10 mins for several takeout options. Great setup to eat in as well. WiFi was great for remote work. Would love to go back or recommend for friends.

We had our another memories to treasure our first time family trip to Spring,Colorado.We our happy and enjoyed every moment of it especially the views and our stay in your place. A Clucking Great Place to Stay

This place is very cool for when you want to stay somewhere quiet nestled at the bottom of a mountain. It has everything you need, great decor, an adventurous ladder staircase for getting to the upper bedrooms, and friendly chickens to feed! It was also awesome to have fresh eggs for breakfast.

I didn’t want to leave!

This home is perfect. If you want a unique, super clean, comfortable, convenient, old fashioned charm, then book immediately! I loved this house. It was well stocked and Amanda thought of everything to make it easy. Also, the ladies (hens) were so much fun to chat with every morning. Palmer Lake is a great little town that I feel lucky to have discovered. I am already planning on when I can come back.

Great getaway!!

We loved the Hen House! I felt like I was walking into the greatest playhouse of all time!! Hiked some great nearby trails. It was a good midway point between Denver and Colorado Springs. Had 4 people and it was great! We would definitely stay here again!!

The Hen House and Gardens in Palmer Lake is an absolute must stay for travelers in and around Denver and Colorado Springs! Conveniently located near local eateries, shops, gas, groceries, hiking trails and FUN activities for the entire family. Amanda is an exceptional host! Her place is so clean and cozy with a well appointed kitchen, laundry and all necessities and extras to ensure a comfortable stay!

This place was perfect! It was just me who stayed the night, but in the evening, we had a fun outdoor dinner party for my birthday! Amanda was so nice and accommodating. She was so helpful along the way. Beautiful property and area of town. You can tell she works hard to make it perfect. Check out that clawgoot tub! And the beds were so comfy. And all of the trinkets are so cute and perfect for space! Perfect if you like cute spaces and plants. And chickens! Loved being near the chickens. Overall, great birthday weekend and getaway! Cant wait to stay here again!

The house is cute as can be. My wife loved the garden. My kids loved the chickens. I enjoyed the eggs every morning, the mountains (always) and the fact that my family loves it so. The listing says it'll sleep 5, so we brought 5. Next, I think I'd keep it the crew to 2 or 3 though. Many thanks to the owner and her keen hospitality...we hope to see and rent from you again.

Great property

We really loved this place. For us it was all there. Location is central not to far away but just far away enough. Home was perfect for us. Comfortable and relaxing. Super clean everything works the way is should. We look foward to coming back sometime. If your reading reviews trying to make up you mind... just do it you won't regret it. It's one of those places you find that you tell everyone about except you don't want to tell them where it is cause they'll all start coming and you will never get in again.

The coziest stay in the perfect location!

We chose this property because we love the mountain town feel, but this home specifically was the first time I’ve ever felt “at home” on a trip! Amanda is amazing and available. She answered any questions we had immediately and was even gave suggestions on things to do close by because she is so knowledgeable on what’s in the area. My kids loved seeing the chickens, humming birds and deer every day. The view of the mountain behind the house is stunning! The house was so clean, and I am usually so picky with my kids being young, but it was spotless. I had everything I needed to make meals, plenty of towels and bedding and it was so nice to be able to do laundry. My husband and I enjoyed having our coffee out on the deck in the quiet mornings. The home is decorated so intentionally and we just felt so cozy and safe in this home! If you are visiting Colorado Springs area and want to stay in a place where you actually feel like you’re in the mountains but close to town, stay at this house!

Quick getaway

The cabin is cozy and clean. Bedrooms are in a loft with ladder access so if you are not up for that, especially when the bathroom is on the main level, it could be a challenge. It wasn't a big deal for me or my wife, just pointing it out. The property is at the base of the mountains and it is secluded. The property is "pet friendly" and we always stay in properties that are but the rules state that pets can not be in the loft or on furniture. Not very realistic especially when you pay a pet deposit. I would eliminate such restrictions as the rental is picking up a broader base of customers as a result of "pet friendly". Overall we enjoyed our stay and would have no problem recommending it to others.

Artsy, bohemian get away with nature up close and personal!

We enjoyed our stay at the Hen House so much! My 5 year old picked organic veggies from the garden, gathered eggs and played with the chickens daily -- Peaches was her favorite because she was the only one who would let us hold her. Amanda is great as are her neighbors. Such a fun experience!

The Hen House was a great place to stay while in Colorado! My family loved the fun hexagon shaped house with the near loft bedrooms! Amanda made our stay extremely welcoming and comfortable providing all the amenities and even allowing us the fresh eggs and vegetables! We would highly recommend the Hen House and would rent it again if we are in the area!!

Nice hideaway

Our family of five (three kids ages 11, 9, 6) had a great stay at this property. The location is a little off the beaten path in a quiet neighborhood, but near to a small town. It is also close enough to area attractions to be very convenient. We were pleased with the ample amenities for us and even our dog. The kids LOVED the chickens and garden! What a neat added bonus!

Amazing!

In a word, amazing! That is how we feel about this property! Amanda was a great host and made us feel at home, the minute we arrived. The fresh air, awesome flower aromas and the fresh eggs made our stay even better. The Hen House is beautifully remodeled and decorated. Miss Amanda is a master gardener and the frog is really cool! We would recommend this property to anyone and we will definitely stay here again.
