Newly renovated beach cottage

Spend your summer by the beach in Madaket on Smith Point in this newly refurbished 2 bedroom, 1 bath beach cottage steps away from beach and harbor. Brand new everything, including a kitchen for cooks and, small, but spa bathroom, outdoor shower, and 2 decks - both a small front deck and a large ground deck in back with oversized picnic table and gas grill.

Air conditioned. Linens and towels included. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Parking.

The house is seconds to the bike path and shuttle bus which provide service to Downtown and other areas of the Island. Millie’s is a 5 minute walk and now includes live music on certain summer evenings (not to mention the fish tacos are amazing!). Millie’s often offers shuttle service to/from Cisco Brewery. The house is very close to miles of conservation land which can be explored in the wild or via the paved trails provided for long walks, runs or biking.

The ocean is steps from this cottage. As is Madaket Harbor, which is an excellent calm beach for small children or for stand up paddle boards or kayaking (both accessible in home rental). From the house, it is ~ 2 miles along the harbor or ocean to the the tip of Smith Point where seals are often seen swimming the shore.

Additional amenities include wireless high-speed internet, flat screen tv, and Alexa. We accept all well-behaved pets and mildly unruly for an additional cleaning fee (to be discussed based on type of pet).

Solstice on Smith Point

A great little house - just right for our family. We were impressed with the quality - “newly-renovated” is obvious. We loved the location - many walks and hikes and of course, Millie’s ! as well as all the great eateries and shopping in town, very Uber-easy. On top of all that, we got to celebrate the Summer Solstice on Smith Point !Thank you, Dawn !

Great spot and location

Stayed here with my husband and 6 month baby! Location is amazing as have access to ocean side and bay side beach. It is perfect for family as can easily walk to either beach. We loved doing morning beach runs with our dog and sunset at night. We loved the outdoor shower and back patio as well. Dawn was great and we hope to be back!

Couldn’t ask for anything more

Steps from both the ocean and the bay made this location a perfect gateway for our family. With two kids under 6 and a dog we could not ask for anything more. We enjoyed gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, family walks on the beach, bike rides on the path and daily homemade meals with fresh produce from the island. A week was not long enough but so grateful for our time away from our busy schedules at home.

Couldn’t be better

The house is just great. Very clean with a well equipped kitchen, plenty of private outdoor space, front and back decks, grills, outdoor shower, and a really comfortable bed. Dawn makes sure that you get settled easily and have all the information you could want for a great visit to the island. The property manager, Paul, is very helpful, available and responsive. The new beach chairs were appreciated. Honestly I can’t think of anything that would have made our stay better. The location is ideal - the walk to the beach is the same whether you want the heavy surf Atlantic coast or the calm bay side. I can’t imagine any review other than a perfect 10.

Nailed It!

Everything about this process and property was great. Dawn was responsive and accommodating. The local contact was available, yet non-intrusive. The house was well stocked, in great condition, and - most importantly - in an amazing location. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets, and our dog enjoyed swimming in the ocean. It was a perfect, relaxing getaway. Hopefully we'll be able to return!

Gorgeous getaway

This property was perfect, with beautiful beaches just steps away. We dined on the patios both at the front and back of the house which was ideal for enjoying the wonderful sunrise and sunsets. There is a fully stocked kitchen as well as outdoor grill. The beaches are the best I've seen and they also provided a kayak to enjoy the shoreline. If there was anything we needed, there was quick response and help nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and guarantee will be back!

Never imagined it would be the actual " Oasis" described on the website. Amazing family vacation....one never to be forgotten! Such a perfect home, "peaceful", and beautiful spot on the island.( sunsets are unreal!!!) Dawn is wonderful and so helpful with planning your vacation. Perfect!

We had a wonderful time at this cottage! It was recently renovated and is very clean and modern, while still being cozy and beachy. It is also very well appointed - we couldn’t think of anything else we could need! The host, Dawn, was extremely nice, helpful, and easy to reach. Dawn was also very welcoming to our dog and made sure that we had everything we needed for her. The cottage is in an amazing location with great beach access from several points and an easy walk to Millie’s. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Overall, this cottage is pretty perfect and I would definitely stay there again.

Ideal vacation getaway, perfect location

This house and overall experience are second to none. The house was very clean with all new furnishings, making for a very comfortable ‘at home’ feel for our five night stay. The back porch is large enough to accommodate a family grilling out, and a great place to lay out to watch the stars at night. The location is perfect – walking distance to Madaket beach with gorgeous sunsets, away from the crowded downtown foot traffic, but still close enough to pop into town for meals and entertainment. It really felt like a private getaway home. Dawn was so communicative in the weeks leading up to our trip and so helpful to ensure the check-in process went without issue. She provided a very thorough list of places to see, where to eat, and how to get around – it was so helpful to have that personal touch and guidance, better than anything you can get online. All in all, she made it feel like the house was tailored specifically for us, making us feel like we were at home. 5-star stay, highly recommend – we hope to make this an annual trip!

Cozy setting and spectacular sunsets.

Fantastic setting - within 2 mins walking distance between several beaches. Quiet neighborhood and a spectacular setting- perfect for evening sunsets and cocktails, and then a short easy stroll to Millie’s for a delicious dinner. Spotless place, with plenty of room in the common areas to gather. Well supplied home. Great hosts.

We just got home from an amazing stay at Smith Point Cottage.
