RELAX! YOUR PET-FRIENDLY LAKEFRONT COTTAGE

Bring the whole family, including your dogs or cats, to WoodFisher, our cozy cottage on Chautauqua Lake in Mayville, NY. Enjoy beautiful lake views, peaceful mornings and memorable days by the water.

COMFORTS OF HOME

WoodFisher has two bedrooms, one bathroom and sleeps four comfortably, with two additional fold-out beds for up to six guests.
Relax in the spacious living room with panoramic lake views and morning sunshine. Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable spaces for family time.

LAKEFRONT LIVING

Explore the lake with our kayaks, go fishing, enjoy a charcoal BBQ or gather around the fire pit.
The lakefront yard and dock are shared with neighboring PebbleFisher Cottage. WoodFisher has its own designated docking area for boats up to 24 feet. The dock is generally available May through mid-October, weather permitting.

PETS WELCOME

Dogs and cats are welcome! A maximum of two pets per reservation is permitted, with an $80 pet cleaning fee per stay.
Cats must be reliably litter-trained and accustomed to indoor living, with no known history of destructive scratching or urine marking. Guests must bring a scratching pad, litter box, litter mat and furniture protection.

Please manage excessive shedding and report any accidents or damage promptly. Our Pet House Rules apply to all reservations involving cats.

PARKING AND ACCESS

One designated driveway parking space is provided. Boat trailer parking may be available at Chautauqua Marina for approximately $10 per night; please confirm directly.
WoodFisher Cottage is located on West Lake Road in Mayville, NY, close to the marina, restaurants and local attractions.
Access to WoodFisher involves a wide stone stairway with handrails leading down to the cottage, followed by a wooden stairway with handrails and three steps to the cottage entrance. Two additional stone steps without handrails lead to the lakefront lawn.
Please note that WoodFisher is not step-free, either inside or outside the cottage.

WoodFisher is generally open May through late October. The responsible booking guest must be at least 35; children are welcome.
We look forward to welcoming you and your four-legged companions!

Smoking permitted outside the cottage with proper disposal.
Please respect our natural surroundings and fellow guests seeking a quiet vacation.

To keep our cottage clean, comfortable and welcoming for everyone, we kindly ask cat owners to follow a few simple rules.
Litter training: Cats must be reliably litter-trained and accustomed to indoor living, without a known history of urine marking or destructive scratching.
Scratching: Please bring your cat`s scratching pad or post and protect furniture, rugs, curtains and doors.
Furniture: Bring a washable blanket or protective cover if your cat enjoys resting on upholstered furniture.
Shedding: Please brush your cat as needed and remove excessive pet hair before departure.
Litter boxes: Bring a litter box, litter mat and sufficient litter. Keep the area clean and never flush litter down the toilet.
Accidents: Please let us know immediately if scratching, staining or another accident occurs so we can address it promptly.
Our $80 pet cleaning fee covers routine pet cleaning. Guests remain responsible for damage or extraordinary cleaning in accordance with the rental agreement and applicable booking terms.

Wonderful Woodfisher Cottage

Cottage was wonderful, the lake was beautiful and views spectacular. Cottage was clean and filled with all the amenities and items you would need. King size bed was soo comfortable. Great place to stay - we loved every minute there♥️

GREAT GET-A-WAY TO CHAUTAUQUA!

One of our favorite places to stay while fishing on the lake. Jim and Ulrike are the best hosts. Spacious rooms, clean and fresh. The view of the lake is amazing. Highly recommend and we will be back. Sharon & Paul

Lovely cottage and property.

My two sisters and I enjoyed our 3 night stay in this cottage right on the lake. From early morning sunrises, late morning coffees, evening wine, and after dark boat lights, the lake views were beautiful. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. Restaurants and stores were within walking distance as well as a short drive away. The owners were welcoming and ensured that we had all that we needed during our stay. I highly recommend this property.

Nice view

The view is lovely and the location is convenient. The house was clean and kitchen had basic cookware. I would suggest bringing your own sheets and towels as those provided were too thin and dingy. Also if over 6 ft tall take note that the ceilings are rather low in the bathroom and door-frames. So you may find it challenging to maneuver those areas.

EXCELLENT CABIN!

Thank you for a wonderful couple of days at your lovely cabin! The place was so very fresh and clean. We appreciated that you provided the linens and towels. Kitchen very clean and all in working order. The view from the front window was amazing! Everything you could possible want/need in a lakeside cabin. Having the boat dock was perfect for our fishing boat. We will be sure to come back again. Spacious rooms and simple furnishing, just what we like. Gorgeous views

The location was exquisite. The only reason I gave a lower score was the rugs. While I deeply deeply appreciate somewhere that accepts dogs, the carpet was so stained and dirty. Yellow stains everywhere from other peoples animals. May I suggest pulling the carpet up and putting tile down? But again the location and the views were DYNAMITE!!

Perfect lake house retreat

This house was exactly what we were looking for. The location is great, being across the street from Putt-Putt golf and next to the marina. We brought our boat and found the dock to work well to tie off to as well as sit at the end and watch boats go by. The house was very cute and well stocked with everything we needed from dishes and cooking supplies to towels and toilet paper. We did not use the air conditioner because there were so many windows and the lake breeze was wonderful. The furniture and beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. The table and grill in the yard were used for many meals and the fire pit was a great place to make s’mores and listen to the concerts happening at the amphitheater down the street. The view from the living room is spectacular. We loved our stay and look forward to returning next summer!

Lovely Lake House Eclipse Trip

This home is wonderful. As advertised, right on the lake with some of the most beautiful sunrises you’ve ever seen. Large windows allow you to enjoy the view from the living room or master bedroom. The home was more spacious than I imagined from photos. It is decorated with a tasteful nautical theme, making the house feel welcoming and comfortable. There are parks, trail heads, & stores within walking distance of the home. We didn’t spend a lot of time in front of the TV but it was nice and the Wi-Fi was responsive. Did I mention the view? TV can’t compare. It was the little touches which showed Jim and Ulrike really care about their guests’ experience. The eat in kitchen is well equipped; the cabinets are labeled to allow you find what you need quickly so you can get back to enjoying the lake. Organization flows through the home with labeled closets & cabinets full of extra blankets (indoor, outdoor, & pet) towels, board games, cards, toys for the lake, even fishing poles & grill tools. There is a fire ring just far enough from the lake to stay dry. There were kayaks & life jackets, but early April is a bit cool for water sports with my crew. We were there for the solar eclipse & got to meet the hosts while they viewed the event from a neighbor’s home. After meeting them, I am certain the dozens of the tiny details I noticed were all intentional to ensure their guests have the best trip possible. I wish I lived closer so I could book with Jim & Ulrike more often.

Wonderful winter stay

The property was very nice and well stocked. We went in the winter so we were happy to see that the cottage was well heated and we were comfortable the entire time. The owners checked on when we arrived to be sure everything was in good order and responded quickly to a question I had. It is very much like the listing describes and you are right on the water. We had some good lake effect snows while we were there so we didn’t spend too much time outside, but I imagine that it is a lot of fun in the summer. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Experience

This place was perfect. We had family over for a bon-fire and cook out every evening. I was able to tie up a rental pontoon boat to the dock just 50 feet from the back door. I would not recommend this cottage to anyone with vertigo or balance issues as the floors are a bit sloped.

Charming cottage with a million dollar view

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage, from the welcome basket to the last day. It is well equipped and extremely comfortable. We are not boating people, but we loved being right on the lake and enjoyed the view from the large picture window! We would definitely come back again.

Such a relaxing visit

This stay was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable I've ever had. The lake view was so enjoyable and we had such a fun time just fishing off the dock and hanging by the fire pit. The owners stopped by and were very friendly and super nice to talk to. We also decided to take a drive around the full lake to explore all that is up at Lake Chautaqua and that was a beautiful relaxing drive too. The park was in close proximity so we could take the dogs for daily walks. Very convenient area and accessible to a few stores/ restaurants. Definitely would love to return ASAP!!

Fishing cottage

House was dated but had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Parking situation was not ideal especially if you have a boat trailer and an extra car. Dock was nice but no electric to charge boat. We used long extension cords. Owners were very easy to communicate with.

Delightful Getaway!!

Ulrike and Jim were very easy and enjoyable to work with.. Appreciated the cleanliness of the cottage.. Thoroughly enjoyed the gift basket and the detailed list of places to shop, tour, eat, visit.. The Luci Desi Museum is a must as is the Audobon Nature Center.. Check out the Marmaduke Statue, too.. Andriaccio’s, Stedman’s Corners, Haff Acres Farm, VFW, and Lighthouse Grocery Store are also a must to dine/shop.. Same goes for Johnson Estate Winery and Brix21.. Thanks for an awesome two weeks!

Amazing Lake House

We had an amazing weekend on Chautauqua Lake. The house had everything we needed and some! The views were amazing and the yard and dock made our experience so memorable. I would love to come back again. The owners were very quick at responding, and helpful!

Amazing View

We had an amazing stay at the house! Jim and Ulrike were amazing and the response time at reaching them were great! The cottage and kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need. The set up of the cottage made it very spacious and definitely couldn’t beat the views from the living room, bedroom and of course the yard and dock. We would love to stay here again!

Definitely returning

My Wi-Fi I couldn't have enjoyed the property more. The proximity to Lake, the beautiful sunsets and sunrises all breathtaking. Jimand Ulrike were fabulous hosts. We were Fortunate enough to meet them during our stay. What a pleasure we can't wait to return. Only thing that could have been better was my luck at fishing:)

The VIew!!!!

Beautiful view of the lake! Great little lake cottage, good location across the street from mini golf, ice cream and candy shoppe. We had fun fishing on the dock. We had a wonderful stay and the house was very clean. The owners were helpful attentive.
