Recent updates in 2025 include: Brand new upper and lower decks with new outdoor furniture including a new dining table for 8, 2 new poly Adirondack chairs on upper deck, new outdoor sofa and chair set up on lower deck, 4 new high chairs for a great viewing spot of the lake!

Located on the South Carolina side of Lake Hartwell, our lake house features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, sprawling decks, a screened in porch, hot tub, and private dock for your enjoyment. We are 15 minutes by boat to Clemson and a great house to stay at for a game!

The open living space on the main level offers an eat-in kitchen with dining space for 6, fully stocked kitchen and additional dining space at the formal dining room for 6 more people. The living room has a beautiful stone fireplace and an additional sitting space for 4 more that makes for a perfect place for game nights! The main living and dining space opens up to the sprawling back deck with outdoor dining space for 6, a gas grill and Adirondack chairs that will quickly become a favorite spot to enjoy your morning coffee.

Up just a few stairs to the master retreat complete with a KING master bed and private bath with dual vanities, jacuzzi tub, and separate shower. A custom walk-in closet was just updated May 2020.

Downstairs from the main living space is the additional 2 guest bedrooms. Both QUEEN bedrooms that share another full bath with dual sinks and shower/tub combo. Down one more short flight of stairs, you will find the basement game room with additional living space, sleeper sofa, another stone fireplace, pool table, game table, bar and additional fridge. The laundry room is also on this level.

Off the basement is the screened porch with outdoor lounging space and hammock. Stairs from there take you down to the lake and dock. Don't forget to stop halfway down and enjoy a little hot tub time!

Our lake house is in a private cove with deep water which offers a quiet place to swim, fish, or just enjoy the views. Rent a boat and feel free to dock it at our dock. Our house is easy to get to just about anywhere on the lake.

Come for a long weekend or better yet - a Clemson game weekend or enjoy a summer week here. We hope you enjoy our home away from home as much as we do!

This was an awsome stay. The lake was beauiful the hot tub was incredible. Only issue was i didnt recieve the information about how to get in/ specificstions about the stat until I called on my way to the property.

The property was great and plenty of space. Highly recommend a good deep clean. Cabinets, baseboards need cleaning. Porch light needs replacing. We did find replacement bulbs for the inside, as there were several lights that were out. Remote control for the tv in the game room did not work.

Hartwell Trip

This is a very nice place to bring your family and enjoy the lake setting. The place feels right at home and the owner communication was 2nd to none. I have booked several trips lately and this was by far the best experience.

Lovely Home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. It was perfect because everyone had their own space. The water was deep enough that we could float and play all day just by using the dock. The chairs on the dock were perfect for my morning coffee. We look forward to staying here again.

Great Vacation on Lake Hartwell

Family vacation at Lake Hartwell. Great place for the family. Host was very helpful. Fishing right from the dock. Central location on Lake Harwell. Nice deck for eating outside. We brought a wagon to help with taking things down to the dock and back up to the house.

Wonderful stay

We booked this house for parent's weekend at Clemson. The drive to campus was about 23 min. We shared the house with another family. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The new porches were beautiful and the dock with nice deep water off the end was nice place to layout and swim.

Best of both worlds

As a 25+ years Clemson alumni I have rented my share of lake houses on game day weekends. This house was lovely. A hidden treasure tucked about 25 minutes away from campus. Everything was comfortable, clean and beautifully appointed. You truly felt like you were staying at a friends cabin in the woods. My favorite spot was the covered screened in porch, with it's comfortable cushioned couches and view of the lake. Kitchen had everything you would need for a quick weekend away.

Beautiful lake house for a getaway

We had several family members together for a family wedding nearby for an extended weekend. The house is beautiful and I love the different levels so everyone feels they have a private space. We were there when Hurricane Helene passed through knocking trees and lines down. Mark was very helpful and communicative in helping ensure we still had a great time together and we got a generator up and running to save the food in the fridge. He was an excellent host and I definitely want to come back again and enjoy all this home has to offer - with no natural disasters hopefully 😃

I was grateful for sharing this family home with my family. We had a great birthday dinner for my husband with my children. My son loved fishing off the dock.It is clearly a family home which I loved. Imagine cousins convening for mini celebrations. I would love to know the stories.Overall I liked the place. The parts I did not care for are that are my elderly mother would not be able to come here because the house had many levels and steps - to any bedroom. It is a multiple split level.The steps to the dock are steep. It is a long way down.The game room in the basement needs work due to visible mold with strong smell of mold and mildew. Fridge in game room reeks of leftover bait. Don’t open it!Otherwise it’s a good lakehouse for cousins holiday gatherings or maybe for a groomsmen gathering and has fishing and hunting subtle decor themes, and is good for sitting on the dock and pondering life.My favorite time was gathering around the table for dinner in the nook. “Open concept” is overrated and I liked this about the kitchen.While I cooked dinner, the kids and my husband played a game sitting in the four leather seats. Nice space for board games or cards or enjoying coffee.Thanks for sharing your place with us.

Pretty Disappointed

I've stayed at this property several times and never had a problem. This stay however was sub-par. First the master shower didn't work, something wrong with the handle. 2nd the master bath (jacuzzi tub) seemed like it hadn't been used in a very long time. When I tried to use it, it kept shooting out brown rusty looking water so I abandoned trying it. Lastly and most important, the biggest reason why we like using this property is the hottub. Unfortunately it only worked for about an hour on the first night and then would not turn back on for the rest of the trip. We notified the property manager who said he would be sending a handy man Saturday morning after our first night. We left on Monday and the handy man never showed up so none of the aforementioned issues were fixed. We will be trying to look for another property in the future.

Cautionary Tale

We had an incredibly disappointing and stressful experience at this rental. Shortly into our stay, raw sewage backed up into the house, flooding the game room and causing a foul, lingering odor throughout the home. Per the plumber, roots got into the septic tank. The water had to be shut off for several days, making the property unlivable. We had to move into a hotel at our own expense, and ultimately check out early.The owner initially acknowledged the issue and assured us a refund and hotel reimbursement would be provided, but then stopped responding entirely. We were left to cover the cost of alternative accommodations on top of the rental fee for a home we could no longer use. This level of negligence and lack of accountability is unacceptable.To make matters even worse, the owner knew this property was rented for my son's college graduation celebration. He never even apologized.I would strongly caution anyone considering this property. In addition to the serious health and safety issues, the lack of communication and follow-through from the owner made a terrible situation even worse.I have contacted VRBO and am awaiting response from them.

We loved the location but...

We absolutely loved the location especially with it being by the lake. If it was fixed up and the bug problem was taken care of. The carpet looked to be new and recently cleaned. There was two large roaches one in the master bathroom and the other under the kitchen table. There were little flying bugs all through out the house and specifically on the locked door near the kitchen. In the bedroom there was red spots that looked like dried blood which had me worried they probably have bed bugs. It could have been a really pretty house and a great stay if they could at least get the bug problem under control however they defiantly needed to clean the home a little better an get a exterminator in there asap. Hopefully the don't have bed bugs as that would really stink forever that went on the trip. The was no darts for the dart board, the grill wasn't in working order. The was no wood for the fire place. We planned a stay for 4 days and all we had was two rolls of toilet paper. I wouldn't recommend this vacation home until they take care of some issues.

Picturesque setting and inviting home

Location was excellent, the area was quiet and beautiful. The house fit our needs perfectly with everyone having his/her own space. The steps to the lake are killer, but it’s to be expected so we didn’t mind. Highly recommend!

Great Getaway

We loved our stay at this property. It had all of the amenities that you ever need. After the first day we noticed that the hot tub was not heating all the way up, the owner was very responsive and had someone out there almost immediately. We highly recommend this rental and would absolutely stay again next time we are back that way!

Don’t be deceived by the pictures of this place!!

First I would like to say that the location of the property is great and very convenient. We loved the lake ,neighborhood and really enjoyed our time there. The inside of the house is nice but could use some cleaning,especially the master bathroom! We arrived at night and was unable to see the driveway or the front porch . There is one small light by the front door and the yard light works when it wants to so it’s very dark in the front yard. The backyard is the same way no lighting except for on the back porch so you can’t see the dangerous steps that go to the dock. The steps were cement with 4x4’s that looked as if they were used to form the steps and left there. They stick up in places so it’s very easy to trip on them if your not paying close attention. There is a water house that runs from the house down the steps that also may cause you to trip. Then you have grass and some type of plant growing all over the steps as well . The jacuzzi looked very inviting in pics but we were unable to use it because of the sand , trash and cloudy water in it. The dock has no lighting or power and was covered in spider webs . Take good lights with you if you choose this property! Also the 1st and 2nd floor back porches are in horrible shape! It rained about everyday we were there and the gutters are full of debris so they drain into the porch! That being said watch out for the roaches in the house because of the poor conditions of the yard ! So I called mark to tell him about the jacuzzi and roaches .he said it would be handled ! We never seen the pest control people and the lady he sent to take care of jacuzzi said she was going to get the water looking better but couldn’t do anything about the trash in it!!! Then I received a email stating the grill wasn’t working and there would be a new one there on Wednesday. The grill was delivered and left at the front door ! It was still at front door when we left on Sunday! I called mark a couple more times and he never responded! We are from the country and can make the best out of most any situation but this place for the money we spent is not what we had in mind for summer vacation! Like I said in the beginning of this we enjoyed the lake and our time but it could’ve been a lot better if the accommodations were in better shape!

Great Lake location with all of the needed amenities.

The owners of the proper need to clean and maintain the gutter systems all around the house. They are full of shingle sediment and debris. This will be causing major roof damage if it already had not. We had a big rain the first night and I could see the water on the roof of the front porch wrapping around the vinel sideing most likely into the wood. Needs attention ASAP!
