About this property

The Real Tuscany great for families and friends.

Borgo Castelrotto is one of three residences at Tenuta Castelnuovo Tancredi, a 600-hectare private organic estate that has belonged to the same family since 1897. Together with Villa Aiale and the Castle, it forms part of a working farm in Val d'Arbia, between Siena, Montalcino and the Val d'Orcia.

The house is rented exclusively to one group at a time, accommodating up to 18 adults (plus 2) across 9 double bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
The main building holds 7 bedrooms upstairs, with a large living room, dining room and a big kitchen on the ground floor connected by external stairs, shared by the whole group.
A separate dependance, the fienile, has 2 further bedrooms — one on the ground floor — with its own dedicated kitchen, guaranteeing complete privacy for that part of the group.
The swimming pool at the center of the property is reserved solely for the guests renting Borgo Castelrotto, with views over the estate's own olive groves and vineyards toward the valley below.

No roads or traffic reach Borgo Castelrotto: it sits inside the estate itself, surrounded by the woodland, pasture and cultivated land that the family has farmed organically for generations.

The same land produces the estate's wines — Ammiraglio, Ambasciatore, Fiamma and Assedio — along with D.O.P. extra virgin olive oil and grain, all of which guests can taste during a cellar visit or an evening aperitivo.

A private cooking class with our chefs is also available, focused on the traditional recipes and local ingredients of this part of Tuscany.

On request, we organize breakfast, wine tasting in the estate's cellar, cooking classes, in-villa dining, excursions, and a pre-arrival grocery service.

A stunning house, beautifully restored, incredibly peaceful along with a lovely swimming pool. Our family from 4 to 80 years old loved it. Violante was a great host and super helpful at all times.

Enchanted

Staying in this sprawling villa and grounds is like stepping back in time. Many aspects are old, but charming. The grounds and views are bucolic. The hostesses is pleasant and responsive.

I am part of the fifth generation of the Venturini Del Greco family that has lived and loved this place. For all of us Castelnuovo represents our true self, our pride. Everything we do here at is done with true dedication to this property, keeping in mind the past but always thinking of the future. This place is our history, our tradition.

Why they chose this property

This property is part of the organic wine farm of Castelnuovo Tancredi, this should be your home away from home and we will try to do everything to make your stay with us as memorable as possibile.

On the estate, which encompasses over 600 hectares of this territory, we grow grapes for our organic wine production, organic cereals such as wheat, alfalfa and barley, and maintain the animal reserve where we have reeboks, pheasants, jack rabbits and wild boar.

This is the real Tuscany and the one you find on the postcards and that you dream of visiting -rolling green hills with cypress lined drives everywhere you look. Vineyards and small medieval towns are dotted along the skyline. This area of Tuscany is known as the agricultural area of the region so there are not houses everywhere and traffic problems either.

Villa Castelrotto is surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Orcia Valley in this still quite unknown area of Tuscany, where you can visit typical old towns and villages as well as famous monuments, or practice many sports and leisure activities. We will be happy to assist you with information and directions to make your stay with us more enjoyable.
