From your comfortable porch perch you can start the day watching lobster boats and seals, porpoises, eagles, and other sea life go by while sipping your favorite beverage and having breakfast. At night, watch the moon and stars sparkle or catch a shooting star on the water over dinner or drinks with family and friends. This 6 bedroom / 5 full bathroom property has the perfect combination of modern upgraded amenities, including high-speed internet, yet with a vintage New England feel. This is a large family home loved by many generations of the same family for its unique and incredible views, its game nights, and its authentic old-time feel. You can also visit the community library, the non-denominational chapel, or the fabulous Crocker House Restaurant and Inn.

Thanks Andrew. We are so glad you and your guests enjoyed your time there last summer. We sometimes forget about the wildlife until we are there, and occasionally spot eagles and other birds gliding by or perched in the free trees, and seals and sometimes porpoises swimming by or frolicking in the bay just off the porch and front lawn. Thanks again, and please come back if it ever works out again.
Fully equipped kitchen. It was a drive to ANP, but we knew that going in. We traded convenience for the awesome views along with peace and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

Thanks for making the trip, Kathy. We were glad to have you and your guests. The views of Frenchman Bay and the mountains behind it from the porch and bay side of the house can be breathtaking, and just being on the coast of Maine in the fall can be so reaffirming and restful. We also enjoy walking to the Crocker House for a tasty snack or beverage, and walking around the Point looking at the islands and bay with a warm drink in our hands. Perhaps its the Maine coastal air, but we and many of our guests seem to sleep better there. Thanks again for coming, enjoying the house and area, and taking such good care of the house. We luck forward to having you back at some point in the future.
We had a great time staying here! Beautiful property, plenty of space for everyone, super close to the town dock, everyone had a great time! Thank you so much! 😊

The home was charming with character, warmth, lots of room for multi-generational family.Well equipped kitchen, second refrigerator if needed. Beautiful view of Acadia Park and Frenchman Bay(Atlantic Ocean). Property manager and owner are quick to reply with questions and suggestions for things to do in the area.
This was our second year in this amazing house. It is roomy, comfortable and the views are incredible! We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and hope to return next year!

This property was simply amazing. The house was very spacious and it accommodate my group very well. The view of Frenchman Bay was stunning we sat on the back porch to see the sunrise and sunset. I would definitely rent this property again. The host was so accommodating and very polite. All the bedrooms were very clean and i loved the antique furniture throughout the house. It was a very relaxing atmosphere and the weather was beautiful . Job well done with the up keep of this property keep doing what your doing. Thanks for allowing me to have a wonderful experience at your property in Hancock Maine.

Thanks again for renting, Sherry. It was a pleasure to have you and your guests and hear that you had a nice stay. We are glad the weather cooperated as well. The fall on Hancock Point and in the area generally, and view of Frenchman Bay off the porch, foliage, quiet, and less people make it perhaps our favorite time to be up there ourselves with friends and loved ones. Have a wonderful winter, and hopefully we will see you back at some point in the future.
It is a unique property filled with antiques . The views of Frenchman Bay are spectacular. The location is private and strategically located on the point of the peninsula.
A Beautiful House, Beautiful Scenery, Just Beautiful!!
We explored Acadia National Park during the day and then had wonderful family time in the evening on the porch with the beautiful view, not only the ocean but the gardens surrounding the house. The inside was beautiful too! Plenty of room to get away if needed!

We are so glad you enjoyed the house, property, and area. The flower gardens certainly provide some nice color and beauty all around. We look forward to seeing you and your special group again!
A lifelong dream of mine to be on the shores of Maine just like my favorite childhood book One Morning in Maine. This house accommodated our family beautifully and is the quintessential house for the area. Now we just need to select our favorite photos from our stay.

Thank you so much Traci! We’re glad you loved the home as much as we do. Hope you can come again!
The back porch was second to none. It was large, covered by a roof and had a spectacular view of Cadillac Mountain across the bay. I also liked the fact that it was in a very quiet location. This was our first visit to the Acadia area and I was really surprised at the number of people there. It was nice ot relax in a quiet place with a great view.

It was a pleasure to have you and you family Alison. We are so glad you enjoyed our house, property, and the view (it takes my breath away each time I arrive ...), and left it in such great shape. We would enjoy having you back anytime.
We loved this house! It has everything: an incredible view, history, a lovely town, and a cozy feel. We could sit for hours on the back porch and look at the views. The house is very large so can easily fit a large group comfortably. The master bedroom had very comfortable bed, with a luxury bathroom. All of the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The owner and property manager were very helpful and both checked in with us during a pretty significant storm that came through during our stay.

Oh my! What a treasure we discovered! Our first time to Bar harbor and esp Hancock Point #23! The most beautiful, comfy a place that embraced you immediately! This late 1800,3 story mansion/home was so perfect! The beds were soo comfortable! We all slept all nite and napped during the day! We all loved everything about this place! The porch on the water was our most popular place!!

Thank you Mona! We are so happy to hear that your family enjoyed the house. You were excellent guests and we would love to have you back anytime!
Everything about this house was great for our 11 person family, particularly during some of the rainy days of our stay. Everyone had a place to hang out, from the stunning view on the deck, to the dining room which was our puzzle room, to the living room where the kids played after dinner. The house seemed to have more bedrooms than originally listed so we had plenty of options. I wish the bathroom in the bedroom right above the kitchen had a shower and not just a bathtub. The exterior doors were difficult to open, whether it was because of the rainy weather or we weren't trying the right knobs (there were multiple). We were pleased to see the original owner's signed paintings throughout the home and felt like it was a special place to stay and make summer memories as a family.

About the host
Hosted by Andrea DB Absher
This is a family summer home that has been lovingly renovated and recently updated. We, Andrea and Doug, as siblings, manage our own VRBO site, and along with our locally based property manager, we manage the house and property.
Why they chose this property
This property has been loved for four generations, with many fun-filled dinners, game nights, weddings, wonderful morning coffees and breakfasts, lazy afternoons, or fun dinner or drinks overlooking Frenchman Bay from the porch. While we love using the house ourselves, we also love sharing it with friends and guests.
What makes this property unique
This house sits on the very tip of the peninsula, and it is hard to fully comprehend the exquisite views of the bay, mountains, and islands, until you are here experiencing it for yourself. Beyond the view from almost every room, this is a grand character home built in 1903 that has been renovated and yet still feels homey and genuine. It has charming spaces and original furniture that make it intimate and cozy even though it has many bedrooms & bathrooms. While meals with family & friends, fun games, creative piano playing, and other memories are created indoors, the porch is the ultimate destination. The covered central porch has built-in cushioned benches, a table for four, and deep shade where one can eat breakfast or lunch or spend the entire day drinking lemonade and watching the lobster boats, loons, porpoises, and sailboats pass by as the kids play on the expansive lawn. Or sit in a rocking chair in the sun reading a good book, daydreaming, or creating your own new favorite use.
