About this property
Family friendly, charming, traditional Swiss Alpine Chalet
Chalet Robles provides the best of both worlds: Located between the majestic mountains and Grindelwald village, the chalet is set on picturesque walking trails in the alpine meadows, yet conveniently a stone's throw away from Bergstation Bort (1570 m.a.s.l.) on the Grindelwald Firstbahn cablecars.
The Chalet can comfortably accomodate up to 7 people. You can relax in a traditional, cosy, well equipped chalet where you can quickly feel at home. You can enjoy your meals on the wrap-round south facing terrace, with an outstanding panoramic view of the Jungfrau Region.
A range of trails for walkers of all abilities and fitness levels starts right outside the front door. The trails take you through pine forests, across river streams and along lakes.
In the summer you will have the area to yourself after the cable lift has closed for the day, and everyone has gone home. In winter you can step out on the ski slopes that run past the house!
During the holiday seasons there is also a restaurant and children's play area by the cable car station.
The chalet floods with warmth and light, taking in fantastic views from the kitchen, living areas and bedrooms.
Please note that the chalet is not situated in Grindelwald village itself. Access to Grindelwald village takes 20 minutes by cable car or auto car, or a 50 minute walking trail, downhill. Outside the operating hours of the cable lift, access to the chalet is only possible by car, but only in the Summer.

Why they chose this property
This wonderful chalet was built by my grandparents who fell in love with the area in the sixties and seventies. It is a vacation home that has been passed down the generations, and I have wonderful memories from all my family stays during the past 45 years. It is a real house with all the creature comforts, and not a cabin just for the night.
What makes this property unique
The chalet is unique because, although it has access to Grindelwald within 20 minutes, it really lies in the middle of the mountains. After the day-visitors have left and the cable car stops, you virtually have the wide area to yourself. The sights of the majestic snow-capped Alps, and sounds (of actual silence) are something to behold. You get fresh air, can actually see the stars at night, and the only thing you can hear is the distant rushing of the mountain stream.
