Stunning Mediterranean style villa draped in sunshine with sweeping ocean views, gardens, a lapa with a built-in barbecue and a real fire place situated on the Atlantic seaboard in downtown Cape Town. Access to a pool in a SHARED SPACE NEXT DOOR (though typically unavailable between Dec 9 - Jan 8). 5-7 minutes walk from shops, bars and restaurants in Green Point and a 5-7 minutes drive to Table Mountain, V&A waterfront, the promenade and its many beaches, Long Street and the stunning Green Point Park.
This stunning Mediterranean style villa is situated up the slopes of Signal hill, a part of Table Mountain National Park right in the middle of Atlantic Seaboard in downtown Cape Town. The villa has sweeping ocean views only interrupted by Robben Island in the distance. This villa has five bed rooms all with en-suite bathrooms and a dedicated, playful space in the living area that can sleep four additional people on floor mattresses. The master bedroom has a beautiful little balcony with amazing ocean views. The villa has a bunch of sitting areas, both indoor and outdoor as well as access to a swimming pool in a SHARED SPACE NEXT DOOR, up a quick flight of steps and by prior notice only (though typically unavailable between Dec 9 -Jan 8).
Our favorite part in the villa is the entertainment 'lapa' area with a built-in barbecue. One of the gardens has a beautiful Kolkol wood-fired hot tub in it for those cold nights which doubles up your own little splash pool in summer days.
The villa has four bedrooms and bathrooms as part of the main house while the last bedroom opens up directly in a pretty little garden in the same property. One of the bedrooms is a small room with bunk beds nestled within the master bedroom and sharing the master bathroom.
The villa is over 100 years old and, though greatly cared for, shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear, quaint aging and charming patina both inside and outside.
The guests can also access a beautiful swimming pool in a SHARED SPACE a quick flight of steps away, where the hosts stay, and by prior notice only (though typically unavailable between Dec 9 and Jan 8)
The guests have two secured parking spaces.
The villa is right next to another one of our properties with a connecting door in between. If you have a really large group (up to 20-22 people) and there is availability in both the properties, we can try to help by offering both properties together.

Dear Brian, Thanks for being the fantastic, considerate guests that you all were and for the terrific review. We hope to host you again in future. All the very best!
Our extended family of 8 adults loved the location. You can walk to most places in Green Point and short Uber rides to Camps Bay, Sea Point, Table Mountain and other Cape Town attractions. The host is very responsive and offered us information about local events during our stay. Other than a small mis-communication about check in time, we loved everything about our stay.

Dear Jeff, Thanks for being the fantastic, considerate guests that you all were and for the terrific review. We hope to host you again in future. All the very best!
This is a beautiful villa with the owners to match right where you want to be as tourists or visitors to Cape Town. It is located on a leafy, safe street in Green Point allowing my family to walk around and soak in Cape Town with a sense of confidence and safety. It is about a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach, to the Green Point park, to V&A Waterfront, the promenade and the scores of bars and restaurants at Green Point including our favourites - Mojo market, Giovanni and Hudson's. You don't really need a car if you stay here as everything is a short walk or Uber away but we had rented one to be able to explore the wine lands and go to Cape Point and the garage in the house helps. The house itself is HUGE, sunny, airy and quite cozy - our favourite areas of the house were the master bedroom with amazing ocean views from its balcony but also the 'Braai Lapa' to settle down in the evening and roast your meats as you look over the ocean. We spent loads of time barbecuing or just relaxing in the garden of the house. We also had direct access to a stunning swimming pool just upstairs but this is shared with the host's family. The sunset and the sun-downers from the deck were incredible each day. In the evenings, the adults would get around the open plan kitchen, one of the two gardens or the lovely entertainment area while the kids ran around all over. The hostess Gautami was super friendly and communicative all through and even left a bottle of wine for us - a lovely little touch. I'd recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Cape Town and cares about a luxurious, spacious, safe, friendly and easy-going space in an excellent location.

About the host
Hosted by Gagan Sekhsaria
I have the privilege of living in gorgeous Cape Town and sharing its stunning beauty with you. I just graduated to receive an MBA degree from the London School of Economics and have over 22 years of work experience with global firms across many locations globally. I love using private home rentals when I travel and have been doing so since many years now so I thought why not use the extra place I own in Cape Town and offer it to travelers who enjoy the same experience too. So, here you are!
Why they chose this property
This is a real special property in so many different ways but there is a little known fact that I wish to share with you. One of South Africa's legendary rubgy players who was a part of the team that brought home the ever so famous 1995 Rugby World Cup (seen the movie Invictus?), James Small, grew up in this house.
What makes this property unique
A sprawling villa full of character with sweeping views of the ocean with vistas of Robben Island in the distance
