Warsaw is located in the golden triangle...70 miles to Louisvile, 75 to lexington, 50 miles to Cincinnati.
Warsaw is located in north-central Gallatin County, along the south bank of the Ohio River. Warsaw began as a landing on the Ohio River in 1798 called "Great Landing".
In 1814, Colonel Johnson and Henry Yates purchased 200 acres (81 ha) to establish a river town to be named "Fredericksburg", after Johnson's hometown in Virginia. By 1815, the town plot was complete. The town extended from the river to Market Street and included 172 numbered lots, each 28.5 by 99 feet (8.7 by 30.2 m).
In 1805, founder Colonel Robert Johnson surveyed and built a road from this landing to his former home in Scott County, Kentucky. The landing soon became a busy shipping port.
In 1831, the town was renamed as "Warsaw", as the US Postal Service did not want it to have the same name as the Virginia city.

Great base of operation
We came to northern Kentucky to visit Neeley Family Distillery and were keen to stay stay on the Ohio River, so I was thrilled to find Watersaw House right on the water. It was only a two-night night stay, but made for a great base of operation, and David was easy to work with!

Great location for Creation Museum, Ark Encounter, and Cincinnati Attractions!
We came to Warsaw to visit the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, and go to a Cincinnati Reds game. Less than an hour motorcycle ride to all these locations and beautiful scenery by taking the "avoid highways" route on your GPS. While at the Watersaw house, we enjoyed sitting on the back deck and watching the boats and barges go by. We enjoyed walking around town and to the park down by the river. Snappy Tomato Pizza was less than 1 minute walk from the house. We also walked to the Eagle Creek Winery, Jewels on Main for dinner, and Family Dollar, Deaton's Market, and Shell for groceries/snacks.

Stay
Great location, this particular house could use updating and a little less clutter. If your going to advertise it holding 6 people the beds should accommodate 6 adults and enough seating in living room to accommodate them.

short vacation
We stayed here while visiting the Ark, the Creation Museum and Churchille Downs. It was a great place to relax at the end of the day and my kids enjoyed walking around the town and getting snacks or drinks at the nearby stores. We enjoyed the river in the back yard. My younger son loved seeing the different boats and my older kids actually called me out one night to see the colors in the sunset and how they reflected off the water. Usually, I have to point out beautiful scenery to them. It was a wonderful place to stay! The owner was very accessible and responsive. He allowed us to check in early because we came in to town earlier in the day than we had expected.
