Cabot Links golf is across the street and the property is within walking distance to trails, the beach, shopping and everything else. Mike was an amazing host making our 3 day trip extra special. We will definitely be staying here again.

We rented this place as a stopping point for 3 couples. It broke up the trip and was the right destination for 2 from the group who golfed at Cabot.

The property was clean. It's an older prefab home. It looks newer in the pics. Having said that we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed and would go back.
A little over priced.
This is a great location to stay with a group of families or friends who are golfing at Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs. Your owner and host is very attentive to your questions and needs. The property is clean and well set up with everything needed cooking and BBQ’ing meals.

Very clean, close to beach but not a beachfront property as advertised.
The house was very clean and well stocked. Mike was great at giving all the necessary information required and was easy very responsive with communication. The town is great and full of friendly people. The nearby beach is a spectacular spot; my favourite so far. The location is perfect to go golfing, beaching, hiking, and sightseeing. My family and I went to the Skyline trail, gypsum mine lookout and swam there. Cheticamp isn’t far away and has great restaurants and stores. The town was nice and easy to find necessities like grocery stores, pharmacy, gas station, etc. We loved it and look forward to returning someday!

We had a fabulous time at this property! It was a heatwave when we were there, but each room had fans to keep the air moving and we could open the windows to let the ocean breeze blow through!
The newly renovated space was bright, clean, and spacious for our two 5-year-olds to play. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking necessities, and the bedrooms had the perfect amount of space. The location was incredible! It is a short drive to the main village beach, a great corner store/take-out restaurant just around the corner, and a short walk to a few restaurants (though everywhere in Inverness is a relatively "short" walk!). We would stay again! Thank you!

We had a great time staying here. The pictures don't do it justice. It's a nice open space with a fire pit and bbq outside if you're so inclined. Communication with the owner was quick and he made sure that we had everything we needed. The location is incredible! You're only a few minutes drive to Mabou, an hour away from Baddeck and the Cabot Trail. Getting to Inverness beach is only a few minutes drive away from here as well, making this a prime location for any beachcombers. There's also a pharmacy, co-op, and restaurants all close by. Would definitely return!

Great location close to Cabot. Small home, but plenty of space for four golfers. The one bathroom was not optimal for four men, but it worked. I happened to be in the porch bedroom, which needs major attention. It was windy and the window blinds were banging against the window. But the window was missing the crank, and i couldn’t close the window, even by hand. When i tried to fix the issue, blinds and shade, which are cheap, old and broken in places, fell to the floor. The mattress in that room is a disaster, very uneven and uncomfortable…terrible night of sleep. The other bedrooms were fine.

The beds in the entire place have very high end mattresses and I have stayed in that room myself and had a very comfy sleep. I always get praise for the quality of the mattresses. The crank on the window was fixed but it looks like it broke again and I will have to replace it - thank you for letting me know about it....The blinds and shade worked before but if it fell to the floor for some reason then I will have to replace it ...Mike
My host cancelled last minute and lied to me about why. Said calendars weren’t syncing with the other booking site but when I booked it said available on both sites! He chose someone staying longer than me.

The property was blocked for the period Coleen wanted booked as VRBO calendar stopped synching with my AIRBNB calendar. I returned her call as she tried calling me and she was very rude. I explained that someone was living there and the place was blocked on the calendar and that the mistake was VRBO's- she was rude and hung up on me _ I called her back immediately to explain it to her and to recommend another place but she refused to answer. I explained it again via message and she replied "whatever". I would never rent my property to such a rude person who accused me of lying when I did not. I make an effort to ensure that I offer a quality property with quality service and I have only had one bad guest that left a mess in my 2 years of hosting and I would avoid having Collen as a future guest.
Not as advertised, but we enjoyed our stay anyway.
Property is very spacious , clean, and well equipped. All 4 of us having a comfortable queen size bed was an added bonus.
A few things, however, need urgent attention. The middle mirrored door in the medicine cabinet is not secure and could easily fall & cause considerable damage; the window in the bedroom off the mud room can't be closed, and the screen on the kitchen window is loose and fell out on the deck.
We did enjoy our stay, but felt somewhat misled by the property advertisement. This is not a beachfront property, and it is not a short walk to the beach. It is, however, a short drive to a beautiful beach. The property would be an ideal getaway for golfers as it is only a short walk to the clubhouse and the golf course.
Place was great. Clean, spacious, with everything you need, including a large parking spot.
Mike was responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed.
We would not hesitate to book again.

This property was exactly if not better than the pictures showed. We were 4 guys on a golf trip and this property couldn’t have been in a better location for us. Walkable to everything we needed. Plenty of room with beds for each. Nice deck with bbq overlooking the water and sunsets. Owner and property manager were great to deal with. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Mike Lidstone
Mike is a nearly retired Mountie who spent a lot of weekends in the area camping with his family as a child. He worked at the last operational coal mine in the area the summer of 1984 and had a very memorable summer getting to know the area and the wonderful people of Inverness. While living in Vancouver he would return every summer to Inverness to enjoy the area with family and friends. It is his peaceful place to come and decompress and spend time on the beach or just listen to the surf from the deck of this summer getaway. He is never tired of a drive along the coastline or to catch the most incredible sunsets in the world each and every day possible.
Why they chose this property
This property is neat and clean with a perfect location. The drives around the area unveil some breathtaking views and the proximity to the ocean and the laid back atmosphere is very therapeutic and relaxing. Inverness is just one of those special seaside places. There is a reason that two world class golf courses were developed in this area-it is truly breathtaking.
What makes this property unique
Directly across the street from Cabot Links Golf Course. You can arrive and park your car then walk across the street to Cabot Links for a round of golf then the next day have the shuttle pick you up to go and golf Cabot Links. Take the family to the incredible beach for the day and swim in the Gulf Stream in the Northumberland Strait in warmest waters north of the Carolinas.
Explore some incredible beaches and country drives. Go hiking along trails and go to the breathtaking Skyline Trail, Egypt Falls or Gympsum Mines Park and swim in the gorgeous gypsum quarry.
Inverness County has by far the most talented musicians in the world. It is an area where Celtic music flourishes and musicians are sought after from all over the world to perform and to teach traditional Celtic music as it has existed for many generations untouched by outside influences. Don't be surprised to hear people speak Gaelic as they are proud of their Celtic roots. Nearby is one of the largest Acadian communities in the world in Cheticamp where Acadian French is spoken and Acadian traditions are practised. This is one area from where Cajuns descended and the family names in Cheitcamp are the same as in Cajun communities all over he world.
It is pretty hard not to attend Inverness and not have a feed of the best seafood in the world. There is nothing like having a feed of lobsters caught only an hour before it hits your plate-so sweet and juicy!! Crab is another popular seafood caught in the area.
Fly fishermen all know the famous Margaree River known for their salmon.
You have to top off your feasts with a myriad of home cooked sweets and desserts- they can be found in any corner store, bakery or country market.
