A delightful stay in an architecturally amazing house

We had a delightful stay in this wonderful place. The house has very spacious and large volumes, amazing light and is perfectly adapted to give all the inhabitants privacy and comfort. An architectural dream. The house is set in an extensive garden-parkland and has a very beautiful swimming pool. The views from both within the house towards the garden as from the garden are amazing. All is peace and quiet here, we can fully recommend this house.

Perfection!

We loved this house and the region - from the moment we arrived to be met by the owner's daughter and husband and the gorgeous Tutti, the golden retriever, to the last moments saying goodbye to the gracious owner Renato we had the most idyllic holiday. The house is an architectural gem with light flooding every space and allowing easy access to the gorgeous pool and sunbathing area and garden - we even had garage door envy! It is very secluded but close enough to lovely local villages and towns with amazing restaurants - we are already planning to come back as we loved it so much - you will too!

All the comfort of a modern house at the countryside

We are a family of 8 people, everybody enjoyed a marvelous week. The house is fantastic, it has all amenities a family of this size may need for a comfort stay in the countryside, from equipment, areas to play outside, excellent swimming pool and inside space. We loved waking up in the morning, seeing the natural light coming in from all the windows, hearing the birds, breathing the pure air and stroll around in the property. The interior decoration is modern, the house is very spacious and we discovered a bit each day, either by the available literature or just sitting in the main living room window, facing the pool, watching the landscape. The outside table that fits 8 people is sheltered, which means you can avoid sun and wind. If this was not enough, Renato, the owner, will do everything he can to make sure you have the most enjoyable stay. Thank you Renato! We know several properties around Portugal and I can say this is one of the best we have been. We will definitely come back in the near future. Cheers from the Almeida family, it was a pleasure meeting staying at your house.

Fantastique, mémorable et tranquille…

Après 1 semaine de visite nous sommes arrivés dans ce havre de paix. La maison est fantastique très bien conçue et avec beaucoup d’espace (bravo à l’architecte). Nous avons trouvés la tranquillité dans ce petit coin du Portugal. Tout cela bien aidé par Renato qui a partagé tout plein de détails qui nous a facilité le quotidien (resto, fête de village, visites…) Um grande OBRIGADO O SENHOR RENATO car ces vacances ont été mémorables pour nous TOUS. Lugar de repouso e descanso

A Casa de Chão Ferreira é o lugar ideal para quem procura momentos de repouso e descanso, permitindo uma estada longe do rebuliço e da agitação dos centros urbanos. Com uma arquitetura moderna é muito acolhedora e de agradável fruição. O enorme espaço exterior e as árvores da envolvente são também características marcantes do que tem para oferecer. Quelle superbe Maison Blanche !!!

Merci à Renato pour son accueil ! Fromage et vino verde à la clé mais surtout une bienveillance et bcp de conseils . La maison est spectaculaire (bravo à l architecte !) . Le site est magnifique et si la maison est belle l extérieur est splendide tant sur le coin Piscine que l oliveraie ou les terrains de volley ou de foot où on s est beaucoup amusé . La ventilation de la maison est parfaite si bien que la climatisation n est pas nécessaire. La maison est isolée il faut donc aimer le calme et la nature ! (Monter à La Chapelle juste au dessus pour une vue à couper le souffle , même si déjà depuis la maison c est déjà top)

Repos dans un cadre magnifique

Nous voulions être au calme et faire un pause pendant 1 semaine. La maison de Renato est parfaite, c'est une très belle maison d'architecte avec un immense jardin et un équipement plus que complet. Nous avons été accueillis tard le soir avec la table dressée, le dîner et de quoi petit déjeuner. Encore un tout grand merci !

Fabulous Vacation!

This is a wonderful property in a rural setting and we had a fantastic stay. The house is beautiful, with lots of light, very comfortable and well equipped. The outdoor area has a big swimming pool, a huge backyard surrounded by trees and beautiful views. Renato is a very welcoming and thoughtful host, always making sure we had everything we needed for a great holiday. We highly recommend this property and for sure we will come back!

Noisy nieghbours

In all fairness I must mention the noisy nieghbours. The nearest nieghbours were about 100 metres away but made a tremendous racket with motorbikes, buzz saws and hammering. The local villagers played loud music, beat drums and let off fireworks that would rival an artillery barrage, and set off all the dogs for miles around. On the plus side the local supermarket sold excellent meat and vegetables at incredibly low prices and the whole area was remarkably good value by British standards. We greatly enjoyed a visit to the Douro valley with a private guide called Roberto Mendes (highly recommended). We had good weather most of the time though the first weekend was surprisingly cold.

All the noises that you heard had to do with the local religious celebrations, which happen every year. And that, unfortunately, we can’t control. On the other hand, I am glad you liked the amenities around and also your visit to Douro. I hope the house was confortable and had everything you needed, as well as all its surroundings and hopefully you were able to relax by the pool despite the festivities. Thank you for your stay.

The house has a super nice location and the view is magnificent. Everything is very neat, well maintained, great beds and plenty of crockery and glasses. There are air mattresses available for yourself in the beautiful swimming pool. The host gave us a very warm welcome and left himself a nice welcome basket. In short, this address is recommended and we hope to come back again!

Séjour magnifique

Première visite du portugal et pour le coup nous en avons pris plein les yeux , le cadre est juste top ! La maison est parfaite , Renato est au petits sons pour nous ! Au moment de partir nous avions un petit pincement au cœur car l’envie de rester était bien là .

A Modernist architects dream home in rural beauty

Fantastic architect designed property with great pool!

As two couples, each with a 6 year old child, we absolutely loved our stay at Renato’s house. He was a great host and the house is very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed a very hot, sunny week with complete privacy out in the countryside ... we didn’t feel like going far but enjoyed a trip into the Douro Valley whilst there and a stay in Porto before arrival and Guimareas before flying home. An ideal break, especially for us discerning architects! We will be back one day!

Una casa maravillosa en una finca de ensueño donde hemos podido disfrutar de todas las comodidades estando en em campo pero cerca de grandes ciudades como Oporto, Guimaraes o Braga y cerca de Parques Nacionales para disfrutar de la naturaleza. Superbe séjour en famille!

Renato et sa famille nous ont très bien accueilli et se sont montrés disponibles tout au long de ces 3 semaines. La propriété, très belle, se situe dans un endroit boisé, calme et reposant avec une vue magnifique sur les collines. La piscine, très grande possède un "petit bassin" très appréciable pour les jeunes enfants. La maison est est très spacieuse, fonctionnelle et bien équipée. La literie est impeccable. Quelle agréable découverte du Portugal!

mieux, ce serait trop!

d'abord l'accueil de Renato et de ses enfants, si vous leur demandiez la lune, je crois bien qu'ils iraient vous la chercher... ensuite une très grande et très belle maison, aux volumes surprenants et très bien pensés puis la tranquillité absolue dans la propriété et la jolie piscine, avec une belle vue sur les montagnes avoisinantes et le joli clocher vert de l'église au loin un formidable séjour au Nord du Portugal dans une région très boisée.

Fantastic Hideaway

We had a wonderful stay in this property, and it is worth mentioning that Renato could not have been more helpful. The property is large and the living space modern. The views are spectacular. Although the pool is not heated in the afternoon it is plenty warm enough. The new motorways in Portugal mean this house is well placed to visit lots of key places in the north, such as Porto, Braga etc. Car is a must. Highly recommended.

Perfect

Das Haus von Renato ist perfekt - wirklich ein Traum. Wir haben die einmalig schöne Architektur, das riesige Grundstück, den Pool und die Umgebung sehr genossen. Von hier aus kann man schöne Touren machen: in schöne Städte und ins nahe Douro-Tal. Es gibt gute Restaurants in der Umgebung. Wir haben aber auch viel selber gekocht: Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, ein Grill ist auch vorhanden. Im nahen Supermarkt gibt es frischen Fisch und hervorragendes Beaf-Steak. Renato hat uns gute Tipps gegeben: in perfektem Deutsch!! Thanks very much, Renato. Obrigada. Your house is great. We enjoyed every day here.
