Enjoy the Balsam Lodge which was built to host a great vacation with open spaces for gathering and quiet places when needed. The Lodge's 3 acres were part of a Christmas Tree farm which is where the name is derived from. The Lodge was custom designed to host a great vacation for a family or for a group of friends. With beds sleeping 10 people there is plenty of room.
As you enter the house thru the mudroom you will find adequate space to hang coats and store shoes and gear. Access to the 2 car garage is to one side while a full laundry room and a full bathroom with stall shower is off this area also.
The living room with 50" TV and soundbar is accessed off the mudroom hallway and opens to the "Chef" inspired kitchen. You fill find a Keurig Coffee Maker and a regular drip coffee maker, toaster oven, crock pot, rice cooker dishwasher, 5 burner cooktop, double ovens and dual sink locations just to mention a few of the items plus of course plenty of dishes and silverware.
Off the kitchen you can enter the dining room with 8' custom wood plank table which has seating for 10. This is a great place to have meals or play a board game. Walking out of the sliding glass door of the dining room you can access the deck and BBQ Grill.
The Great Room, which can be accessed off the kitchen or living room, has a wood burning fireplace (plenty of wood in the shed), seating for 8. Have a cocktail at the bar that is also located in the Great Room and discuss how you conquered The Goat or hiked Bingham's Falls! Relax in front of a roaring fire and watch the 55" TV above the fireplace.
Upstairs are the 4 bedrooms. The first bedroom is a the master suite with a king bed and it's own bathroom with tub. There are also 2 queen bedrooms and 1 bunk room with 2 custom made bunk beds. These three bedrooms share the third bath that is upstairs or the bath on the main floor.
In the basement we have added a rec room with a TV and two comfortable couches (futons) plus a Foosball table. In addition there is a play room for the kids that includes a variety of toys for their use.
During the warmer months all bedrooms and living areas have Air Conditioning! We have recently installed a outdoor firepit in the backyard for your enjoyment.
THE LODGE IS PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED AND NEW CLEANING PROTOCOLS HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE TO KEEP OUR GUESTS SAFE. Discounts have been added for 1 week and 1 month. If you have interest in another time frame (2 or 3 weeks or longer than a month) please contact us. We can discuss!

Our ski getaway was amazing, we had such a great time. The house was beautiful, clean, and had lots of space for me and my family. Would love to stay here again in the future!
Really enjoyed our stay at this property. Location is just outside of town making it good for our group of 8 for some privacy while also being close to dining and local breweries. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
We had an amazing stay near Stowe, VT with two families and six kids ranging from 3 to 12. The house had plenty of space for all of us to spread out and feel comfortable, and it was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. The check-in process was smooth, and the host was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout the entire stay, making everything easy and stress-free. We especially appreciated having two garage spots since it snowed during our visit – it made getting in and out a breeze. The location was perfect, just a short drive (less than 20 minutes) to Stowe, so we had easy access to skiing and local attractions. The kids loved having room to run around inside and outside, and the adults enjoyed relaxing in the cozy common areas. We would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for a spacious, well-maintained, and convenient place to stay in the Stowe area!
I came to the Balsam Lodge from Boston with a group of friends to see the total solar eclipse on April 8. This was a great viewing location and an excellent vacation house to stay at with a bunch of friends. It was genuinely everything we could want in a vacation house - we particularly appreciated the well equipped kitchen and the fire pit! I'd love to come here again and I will definitely recommend this place to others.
The Balsam Lodge is a great accommodation, a short 7 mile drive to Stow, and even closer to 'downtown'. Well stocked kitchen accessories, appliances, etc. The house was immaculate upon our arrival. Both families would highly recommend!
We had a great extended stay. Property is ideally located between Morrisville and Stowe. Everything was brand new and clean - it seemed like we were the first people to stay at the property. We especially loved the wood stove. And garage access was helpful. Vinny was very responsive to any questions.
This is a hidden gem for a winter stay. The property is located right on the Stowe/Morristown border which conveniently lies about 10 minutes from Stowe Village, and 20-25 minutes from Waterbury. The exterior and the interior of the home look new or newly remodeled and we found the interior to be super clean. The pictures do not do it justice. We had more than enough space for 3 kids and 4 adults. I had to speak with Vinny a few times for a few minor items and he was great and quick to respond. In fact he personally ordered and rush-shipped a brand new coffee maker for us when the other broke! This property exceeded all of our expectations. Highly recommended. This part of Vermont appears like a postcard any which way you look, very gorgeous area.
Visited the area for a ski trip with another family and had a great stay. The house was super clean and comfortable. Upstairs had two nice sized Queen bedrooms, one room with two sets of bunk beds and a large Master bedroom with full bathroom and large closet. Some of the kids opted to stay in the basement area which had two futons, tv, football table. Having 3 full bathrooms was great! One in master, one in upstairs hallway and one on main floor. This made our mornings getting to the mountain easier. We loved the stone fire place, kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Just a short drive to town which had cute stores, restaurants, coffee shops. Grocery store was just a few minutes away. We also enjoyed the Ben & Jerry’s factory tour. Communication with Vinnie and Lauren was great. When we got several inches of snow, the snow removal company worked to have it cleared right away so we can drive to Stowe that morning. My daughter ended up leaving items at the house that she needed and Vinnie and Lauren were nice enough to have them mailed back to us! Overall a great house with great hosts. We would definitely stay again.
Our family ski trip to Stowe was fabulous. The Balsom Lodge was a great place to stay. The layout of the house was well thought out and the family enjoyed hanging out in the family room in front of the fireplace. There was plenty of dry wood in the woodshed. The kitchen was ample size but we wish it had been slightly bigger. The only negative to our stay was the lack of toilet paper and paper supplies in the kitchen. For the price per night, we expected more in the way of these little conveniences.
Overall, we had a great time and we would recommend staying here.
We don't see very many white Christmasses in our South Texas home so we head North every couple of years.
We have made 4 trips over the last 8 years to different locations all over the US. The Balsam Lodge and the Stowe ski area have tied for number 1. And there has been some tough competition.
Thank you Vinny and Family for sharing this wonderful lodge. It was definately part of the reason this trip was a 10 out of 10.
We had a great time with fun hikes and exploring the area! The house is well appointed with comfortable beds and easy to use air conditioning. There are so many thoughtful touches like little bowls on the dressers for jewelry, night lights, and sticks for s’mores! The fire pit was wonderful, there is plenty of space and the kids enjoyed the play space. The owner is easy to communicate with, and very helpful. We are already thinking about our next trip!
The Balsam Lodge was the perfect home base from which to travel around Vermont. It is a beautifully appointed home in a great setting. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The house was immaculate, well stocked (pump soaps, laundry, some firewood), and came with many other nice conveniences (yard games, basement playroom, Roku on all TV's, etc). The location was great and the owner was very responsive. Awesome rental experience!
Such a great place for my family and I. We were in town for a wedding so my fiancé and I, my parents, and my sister, brother-in-law, and their two kids rented this place so we could stay together. Perfectly set up, impeccably clean, and loved the backyard with grill and fire pit! The owner was extremely communicative both before, during, and after- even when my 7-year old niece forgot her American Girl Doll on the property, he made sure the cleaners did their best to find it. Thank you Vincent for providing a much needed family home-base!
Just returned from an amazing trip to Stowe and we absolutely LOVED this house! It is beautiful! Everything is brand new and it had everything we needed for a fun and comfortable stay. Everything is spotless, and the rooms are all spacious and comfortable. We stayed with another family and had 5 kids total, ages from 10 - 15 and there was plenty of space for all. The kids loved all of the games and the foosball table and they loved seeing the animal tracks in the yard each morning. It was located within a close drive to town and to skiing. We can't wait to come back in the summer and would definitely stay at this house again! Five stars for sure!
