Location, Location, Location!
This new and recently renovated modern home is perched in the quiet solitude of Crossett Hill and is the perfect base-lodge for a vacation in the beautiful Mad River Valley. Guests are only a few minutes from downtown Waterbury, with grocery stores, fantastic restaurants, bars, craft beer, coffee shops and more. During the winter, skiers have options with a short drive to the Sugarbush and Stowe Ski Resorts, and nearby Route 89 offers quick access to day trips in Burlington and Montpelier. Whether you’ve come for the skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, leaf peeping – or just to enjoy the local restaurants and famous craft beers - you’re sure to be comfortable in this home no matter the season.

Living Area
This home features a recently renovated upstairs kitchen and living room area, perfect for group gatherings, meals, or game-nights. The large entertainment room downstairs - with a pool table, dart board and bar area - is perfect for kids and adults alike, and features another living room perfect for movie night.

Outdoor Area and Deck
The large wrap-around porch and big yard is great for decompressing and taking in the scenery upon returning from a day of activities in the Valley.

Sleeping
Comfortably sleeping up to 10 guests, three bedrooms have high-end, queen-sized beds, a fourth bedroom area has twin bunk beds (in a private area with partition, no closed door) and there is a full-sized pullout futon in the downstairs living room. Each room has easy access to one of our three bathrooms, and the master bath features a beautiful clawfoot bathtub.

Kitchen
The newly renovated kitchen features beautiful wooden countertops, a large farm sink and all new appliances. We’ve stocked the kitchen with all the cookware necessary to prepare your next meal.

WiFi and TVs
The home is equipped with a strong WiFi connection, and both TVs enable access to your favorite streaming services.

Guest Access
You will have access to the entire house and surrounding property.
You also have access to a full 3 car garage for use in any season, but definitely beneficial in the winter months.

We had a wonderful time! The house was just as described and pictured. It was the perfect location for our family holiday. The owners were most helpful in getting the driveway plowed, even on Christmas Eve so we could visit relatives in VT. Our family had fun playing pool, darts, board games, walking through the winter lights in Shelburne, skiing at Sugarbush and watching the last season of Stranger Things.

Really nice house for a group. The split layout spreads everyone out a little bit. Kids loved the game room downstairs. 5 minutes to downtown Waterbury. About 30 minutes to Stowe Resort. Would stay here again. Would not recommend you come here without four wheel drive in the winter

The three full bedrooms and three baths were perfect for our stay. The garage was an added bonus. We were close enough to town for a quick run, but were in the country with a beautiful vista. Perfect for our needs!

Beautiful Fall Oasis!

We loved staying in this home! It was a great layout with plenty of room for our group of 9. Our kids really enjoyed the pool table and we loved being close to everything in town but also tucked away on a private lot with the beautiful leaves. We’d totally stay here again!

Grad weekend

We had a fabulous time relaxing and enjoying Vermont and Grad activities. The location is great easy access to points north and south. The babbling Brook was a bonus, while relaxing on the deck.

Long ski weekend with Family

Overall this was a great property that maximized both the comfort of our family in the home as well as the location to all the greatness Vermont had to offer. We are thankful we chose it.

Great house for our family, and close to lots of shops and restaurants - Stowe was 35 minutes. House was clean, functional, and comfortable. Would stay again and would refer people here. We really appreciate detailed reviews when I am choosing a home to rent for our family, so just to be clear there are 3 actual bedrooms, each with a queen bed. 2 upstairs, and 1 downstairs. The other sleeping spaces are a futon in the middle of the downstairs- not private, and kinda cold at night since it was not in room, and then a set of bunk beds tucked into an alcove downstairs; also not private, kinda cold, no door - as the description says. Also - there are not enough towels and blankets in the house for the number of people it states it can sleep, so bring extras. There are minimal bath mats on cold, wet floors - something we always appreciate. The toilet paper situation was also thin and scratchy -- something about 'Vermont plumbing' was on the sign.....but it worked out. Kitchen worked great - lovely gas stove -no issues. Plenty of hot water for everyone to get hot showers after ski days! The plowing service and dependable warm garage and automatic were so fantastic when we had so much snow; we rally appreciated having the driveway plowed!

Perfect Duxbury Retreat

Beautiful home situated in a quiet Duxbury neighborhood next to a creek & picturesque surroundings. Home was extremely clean & exactly as described. Our extended family group comfortably congregated together but also had plenty of room to spread (appreciated by our teenagers). We especially enjoyed the expansive deck & updated kitchen with newer appliances. Numerous destinations/attractions are within easy driving distance. Julia is an attentive host & we hope to return soon!

Fall foliage getaway!

The communication between Julia and myself was really good, fast and informative. The house was as advertised and very comfy for our stay. We had 4 adults and a 14 month old. Beds were very comfy and the kitchen was stocked with all we needed to cook if we wanted. Nice outdoor deck with nice furniture and a grill. Just minutes outside Waterbury. Very quiet and lovely! Just a side note, we rented a baby crib, high chair and baby gate from Stowe Baby Rentals and they had it there waiting for us.

Great property and location

3 generations in the area for a wedding spent a wonderful weekend at this Duxbury house. The set up was perfect for us with grandparents upstairs in 2 bedrooms and parents & kid downstairs ( with full rec area and access to outdoors). We spent most of our time on the spacious deck enjoying the mountain air! The town of Waterbury was very close with cute restaurants which we took advantage of each night. The house itself was well appointed with good size rooms, kitchen and area to relax. And kudos to Julia the owner who was wonderfully prompt and gracious answering all my questions! Perfect weekend!

Wonderful and Relaxing Stay

Beautiful house, wonderful owner, and wicked awesome time by all! The house was very clean and Julia was great at answering our questions. It was great to have an upstairs space to sit and visit with family and friends and a downstairs space for people to watch TV and hang out playing games. It was great to be able to park in the garage and have the deck outside to relax when the weather was warmer. The master bath tub was incredible to relax in after a long hike at Camels Hump. Thank you for everything! We hope to be back again next year.
