Nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest is the quaint little town of Brethren, Michigan. With a population of just over 1000 people, it is quite possibly one of the best kept secrets in the state. On the other side of the Manistee River is the humble town of Wellston, Michigan. With a slightly larger population, this area overflows with charm. Natural beauty abounds in these towns. They offer abundant activities for every season.

Northwoods Lodging offers you a “home away from home” experience. Our cabins are fully furnished and cozy. We provide you with not only a place to lay your head, but a place to make life long memories. You will find everything you need in our cabins, aside from your personal care items, to make you feel right at home.

We now have Wi-Fi!!

Please leave beds that are used unmade on day of departure. If a bed is not being used please do not disturb or let children play on them. ONLY the number of people listed on VRBO contract may be at the house. Absolutely NO parties with outside people gathering.

DO NOT mess up beds that are not slept in. Do not let children tear beds apart to make forts or to play on. The number of beds used should reflect your number of guests listed. You will be charged if you mess up beds not slept in.

We have fire wood available at 4610 Highbridge Rd. It is located on the side of the garage under our business sign. Cost is $5 a bundle or 6 bundles for $25.

ONLY the number of people listed on VRBO contract may be at the house. Absolutely NO parties with outside people gathering.

Very clean, comfy couches. Great location for adventuring and a short walk to Traks for a drink and some food. Only suggestion would be to have a place for hanging waders outside, and I never figured out how to turn the bathroom fan on? I’d gladly rent here again

Perfect location for a great fishing getaway

Cabin was clean and neat..I would definitely come back...The only complaint I had was the non-stick pans in kitchen were peeling..otherwise the cabin had all we needed.

Peaceful location

We had a great stay in this property. After all the daytime activities it’s nice to chill and relax inside the house in the cozy living area and watch a movie. The linens and towels were smelling fresh! The whole house is clean and spacious.

Location !

This place is located perfect for any activity such as fishing hiking biking golf etc, great bar n grill across the street for all your needs . Tracy was always there if we needed anything. Nice and clean inside and very roomy ! I would stay there again in a heart beat . Thanks for everything Tracy .

Very clean & spacious

This property is very clean & spacious. Plenty of extra pillows & blankets. Bed was comfortable. My only complaint was livingroom furniture was not very comfortable but for the price not a big deal. Property owners are easy to work with. We would definitely book again.

Nice Little Up North Getaway

The property is exactly like show in the pictures and description. It is a clean, cozy and affordable place. Nothing fancy, but that's not what we were looking for. The yard was pretty much all sand and dirt (looks like work was going on) so make sure to check on that if it that would be a concern to you.

Pleasantly Surprised!

We came to the area to do some fishing and were pleasantly surprised with the spacious room it had and it was very clean. We made some last minute changes and the property manager was fantastic to work with and talk to, she went out of her way to make sure things were all good for us. We will definitely stay there again!

Nice Cabin

Good and Clean. If you are planning a fishing, hunting, snowmobile, ATV trip to the area its a great place to stay for a base camp. Plenty of parking. Everything was extremely clean and plenty of room. We will be staying again.

Perfect location to stay with friends before our canoe trip.

Very comfortable home for a group of friends. Short walk to a store and bar / restaurant. Just 20 minutes to launch canoes on the Pine River.

Great place out in the country!

Had a great couple nights here while playing golf at Arcadia. The cabin had plenty of space and beds were comfortable. A bar and grill was within a short walk. I highly recommend.

Wonderful time

Me and my family were positively surprised by the cottage. It was very readable and comprehensive and very clean . Mrs. Tracy is a wonderful person. She helped us with everything and even recommended places worth seeing. We are very happy that we could spend our family time in such a nice place.
