We had an amazing time at this property. The house is gorgeous down to every last detail. The deep water dock is perfect if you bring a boat. The private beach is great and we loved using the kayaks provided by the home. There are lots of stairs to access the beach but we loved being elevated above the lake as it made for the most magical views. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Rubicon Bay is a special place and so is this home!
This house is spectacular. Epic log cabin home with great layout and amenities. Fantastic location with private white sand beach and modern pier. Stunning views of the colorful Rubicon Bay and close to great West Shore restaurants. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

First family trip since COVID
We booked this property 3 months before our trip. My husband and I were traveling with our 6 year old and 8 month old, as well as my parents. Unfortunately we had a negative experience at this property and would NOT recommend to families with young children. The bear activity is extremely high around this area..which the owner only let us know one week before check in there was a large bear in the area so to please keep all doors closed and no food around the home and did give us the option to back out knowing we were traveling with our small kids. Our first and fourth evening a bear cub tried to walk in our home. This home has no screens on the doors and no AC, so all doors had to remain closed which felt like a sauna. Both my kids got heat rash. The owner had a mini fridge full of food in the garage, we opened the garage for 10-15 minutes to take out the trash and during this time a large male bear entered the garage and ripped out the fridge and proceeded to empty the contents of the fridge on to the driveway (I'm talking a full fridge of ice cream, greek yogurt, olives, alcohol). It was quite a scary experience with young children in the home and the owner proceeded to ask me if I was able to salvage his alcohol that was in the fridge...after spending more than 30 minutes throwing his food and broken glass away...this was his request? We ended up leaving a day early due to our experience. If you have young children DO NOT STAY HERE.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. Obviously, bears, weather, and natural occurrences in Tahoe are beyond the control of the owner. Many guest families, including our own, with small children, have enjoyed the property to it's fullest for decades. The other reviews speak for themselves. It does help to follow the house rules and extensive guidance regarding safety, to avoid damages to the owners property. Fortunately the damages due to this negligence were minor. Unfortunately, we will mutually disagree on these comments, and we look forward to respectful tenants who understand the environment to which they travel.
