We had a lovely time at this property. We had everything we needed and being on the lake was incredible. The views were immaculate and would love to come back next summer.
We had a wonderful week. The lake is perfect for swimming, great hanging out on the front deck and playing games inside at night. Great launching point for hikes in Desolation Wilderness. An ideal spot!
We had a great stay in this spacious home . Loved waking up to see beautiful lake Tahoe right outside your living room window. Everything you need right there
This is a lovely place. We have been back 3 years in a row! There is nothing better than swimming in Lake Tahoe (right in front of you!) and hiking in Desolation Wilderness. It's just beautiful. Thank you Haglers!
We loved out stay at this cabin! The location was amazing and the pictures don't do it justice. Everything you needed for the stay was provided and everything was incredibly clean. We were thankful for the use of the kayaks - our two sons had such a great time! We hope you visit again. Thank you for sharing this lovely home with us!
We had a wonderful stay for a family getaway. The location is beyond perfect and you cannot beat dock access and a buoy! 2 kayaks were fun to get around on. The house is dated but well taken care of. Comforters could use updating but we were there in summer so didn’t even need them. Also possible upgrade to smart TV or have DVDs available- we had 4 young kids and movie nights would have been nice for them. Overall great stay and would return!
Great location. Close to DL Bliss, Emerald Bay, Meeks Bay. Extremely expensive but so is everything lakefront in Tahoe. Clean and rustic. Owner was responsive to questions. The dock is a fantastic place to lounge but it is shared with the neighbor.
We spent a relaxing week at the cabin. There was more than enough room for me, my wife, and our four kids. Being right on the water was great, we spent mornings and evenings on the deck, and several afternoons kayaking or paddle boarding from the dock. Being right in between South Tahoe and Tahoe City gave us plenty of options for days when we wanted to go out to eat out other activities. We also very much enjoyed the selection of board games that were in the house. We'd definitely stay again.
Had a lovely time celebrating Father’s Day weekend with the family. There’s an awesome view of the lake and easy access to the dock. The house itself was very clean, and the beds were comfortable! Super cool fireplace that we enjoyed on the chilly nights. We did see a bear, so the instructions to lock everything up before going out for the day should be taken seriously! Thanks for letting us stay!
This property was exactly as described and we loved the rustic Tahoe cabin vibe! We had adults and kids. The kitchen was better than I was expecting, I always bring our own non-stick pans for eggs etc to a VRBO and I would suggest that to anyone who wants a non stick pan. The fridge was new, not the one in the picture (it was large and perfect). The dock is shared and the neighbors are lovely. Beds are comfortable but if you are driving bring what makes you happy (pillow blanket etc) but they are fully stocked with linen. Bring your own life vest if need them. Loved it thanks for having us ❤️!
Could not have asked for a more amazing view to wake up and fall asleep to. Plenty of room for our family of 5. Having 2 bunk rooms upstairs was definitely a huge plus for the kids. Jack was very responsive with our questions. Hoping to return again.
Our family trip was very nice in spite of the smoke from the fires.
The rustic cabin has a lot of room and an outstanding view of the lake. The water level was high so we did not have much of a beach, but the neighbors were very nice and allowed us to use their beach. It was great to have the use of the kayaks, but difficult to carry them from the lower level, up and down to the water. We found the stairs to the dock, lake, beach quite a climb and a bit of a challenge.
The furnishings, rugs, dishes and pans are all very old and shabby, but OK. There were clean towels and extra blankets. We were not able to get the TV to work, the downstairs bath/shower did not work correctly. The patio furniture is worn out plastic with beat up cushions.
We were warned of the bears and did encounter one when we were sitting outside at lunch time. He was about 10 yards away and ran up a tree when he saw us. He stayed in the tree for the day and was gone the next morning. It is important to follow the owners instructions about bear safety.
. Even though the cabin definitely needs updating, it worked out fine for our family. All of this being said, we enjoyed our trip

This next year we will be replacing the chase lounges and pads that the renter was referring with respect to deck furniture. There are stairs going up and down to the lake but our renters have never had an issue with that in the past. The furniture and dishes etc. are certainly vintage Tahoe but we have been told over and over that our renters find them charming.
Special place on Rubicon Bay. The neighbors on each side are very nice and the views from the deck are fantastic. This isn't one of those new palaces on Lake Tahoe, it's a modest home but clean and well kept. The host Jack is a gentleman and easy to work with. My family loves the place.
An amazing property! We absolutely loved our stay. The kayaks were a huge hit, we used them everyday. We were at Tahoe with 2 fires nearby. First few days were smoky, but the skies cleared and we were able to enjoy the fabulous view. It was really great. We hiked Rubicon Peak. Trailhead is very close to the property. The view from the top was totally worth the strenuous hike. The grill was awesome and we cooked up the fish we caught on a fishing trip. Great game selection, we played games every evening. We only had one question for Jack and he was very responsive. Overall fantastic stay and would return.
We had a great time at this home! Perfectly situated, right on the lake and close to all the fun things you'd like to experience. Very clean and rustic. The house hasn't been updated and that's honestly the way I like it!
Jack’s place was amazing. Simple cabin style interior, but the location was unbeatable. With horseshoes out front, a dock, beach, and kayaks, there’s no need to even leave the house!
Really lovely cozy home great for all of us to spend time together after a year of pandemic separation. The home was great for a grandma and two small families of 4 each. Thanks for sharing such a special place.
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. It is exactly as portrayed in the photos. When we rent a place, we don't stray far. Being able to walk out the back and get in the water or just enjoy the view of the lake from the house & deck was what we wanted. We were not disappointed! The house was clean. There were a couple items under the beds and items left in the refrigerator and freezer, which I let Jack know so he can tell his cleaning crew, but otherwise good. Beds were OK- not the best, but not the worst either. Kitchen was fine. As a previous review said, if you like to cook, you may want to bring some stuff. Cutting knives were scarce and very dull. My husband sharpened them as best he could, but the cabin could use a new set of knives. The only real disappointment was not being able to use the grill. We knew it was a charcoal grill which is what my father in law uses and had a special birthday dinner planned. However, once we arrived, we found out we could not use it due to the fire danger. Had we known, we would have planned a different meal. I contacted Jack and he said he had just been made aware of the new regulation. Hopefully Jack will get a gas grill which is allowed even with the fire danger. Overall, we were happy with our stay. We brought our paddle boards and took them and Jack’s Kayaks out every day. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets (made even more pretty due to the smoke). We would definitely stay again. Thanks Jack!
This was our second year at this property. We again had a great time with our family. We all loved access to the pier and not having to go to an over crowded beach.

Our family has been going to Lake Tahoe since 1966. My favorite memories are up at the Lake. Now I enjoy Tahoe with my wife, 3 children and friends. We love to ski, hike, swim, wakeboard, tube, play games, ride our bikes, and just hang out and do nothing. Lake Tahoe has it all. We would love for you to come and enjoy our beautiful lake front cabin with us.
Why they chose this property
My dad bought this beautiful lakefront property and built our cabin on it. Later we added a dock, a front deck and 2 buoys. We have a awesome back deck where you can sit and enjoy incredible views of the Lake or walk down a few steps to sit on our beach. We are 10 miles south of Tahoe City. Away from the busyness of Tahoe City and South Lake Tahoe, but only 30 minutes drive to either of them for shopping or night life. Tahoe to me is the most beautiful place on earth. It is my favorite vacation spot for the last 46 years.
What makes this property unique
The cabin is on the lake with it's own wonderful beach and shared dock. It is perfect for kayaks, canoes, floating in the water, swimming, fishing, motor boating or sailing. There are tons of hiking and mountain biking trails nearby and Emerald Bay is a 15 minute drive by boat or car.
