Situated on idyllic Finback Lane, this four bedroom property features custom craftsmanship and ample amenities. The Finback Community offers a large private pool (about Memorial Day through Labor Day) and cabana for residents, while offering close proximity to South Shore beaches, Miacomet Golf Course and Cisco Brewers. The best of both worlds, this house is the perfect home for those looking for an island retreat, while surrounded by endless activities. STR Permit # 020322

First Floor:

Enter through a covered porch that leads you to the great room. This open floor plan encompasses the kitchen and dining areas as well as a spacious living area. Details include high-end appliances, a large kitchen island with marble counter tops, a fireplace, horizontal ship-lap detailing on the walls and an abundance of windows. The back of the house offers a sitting room with French doors leading to a private covered porch that overlooks conservation land. A queen sofa bed, full bath and walk-in closet in this living area welcomes extra guests. A laundry area and half bath complete this floor.

Second Floor:

The second floor landing welcomes guests with a small sitting area and desks, great for relaxing with a good book. The back of the home features en suite master bedroom with cathedral ceilings, a king bed and walk-in closet. Additionally, there are two en suite guest rooms each with two twin beds. All bathrooms feature high-end tile work, granite counters, stainless fixtures and seamless glass.

Lower Level:

Spacious bedroom with three twin beds and a full bath. An additional large living area with sectional and TV complete this level.

Other Details:
There is a private terrace accessed through French doors from the kitchen/living room hallway. Guest will enjoy a covered porch, gas grill and outdoor seating for 10. Enclosed outdoor shower. 10 beach chairs (6 backpack style). Pack 'n Play provided.

The property exceeded my expectations which for me is rare. Cleanliness is most important to me and the property was very clean, fresh, and very well appointed. We like to prepare a few meals at home instead of going out every night and the kitchen appliances & outdoor grill were excellent. High quality beds are the next most important thing to me for a good rest and the beds were high quality and comfortable. We would stay again when in Nantucket .

Wonderful Week

We had an incredible week at this stunning home! Everything was perfect for our family — beautifully decorated, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better. Just a stone’s throw from town and the golf course, yet still peaceful and relaxing.One of our favorite things to do was grill and dine outside on the lovely patio — it’s such a great hosting space, and we made so many memorable meals and moments there. Whether we were lounging, cooking, or just spending time together, the house made it all feel special.Truly a tremendous spot for a vacation — we’re already talking about coming back. Don’t hesitate — you must stay here!

Third time at this awesome house

I honestly can't think of much to say about Gretchen's house that I didn't write previously. It is a wonderful house, in a great location, very nicely furnished, and Gretchen couldn't be a more helpful host. Hope to come back again soon!

Wonderful time on ACK

We had a wonderful time staying just west of town! The house is exactly what you would be looking for to house a family of all ages while visiting Nantucket. Communication was excellent and the house exceeded our expectations. We look forward to returning next year!

Fabulous home!

This home is even better than shown in the photos! It is supplied with everything you could want, the owners respond quickly to any questions you may have and it’s a lovely place to spend your holiday. It doesn’t disappoint! Perfection on Finback!

We couldn’t have asked for a better week. Gretchen was very responsive to my questions and her home was absolutely perfect. The quality is outstanding. The layout allows for multiple sleeping arrangements that were great for our group. The organization made everything very easy and the house was fully equipped with everything you could need but not so much that it was cluttered. The location is super convenient and allows you to avoid the beach traffic coming out of town. We cannot wait to return next year! Thanks Gretchen!

Perfect!

We sadly just returned from a wonderful visit to Nantucket and are missing the idyllic beauty of the island and the architecture. Gretchen and Mark’s home reflect this ambience! The description ‘airy and spacious’ rang true. Truly a great, comfortable space design and lovely interior design elements! We enjoyed this smart, absolutely beautiful home tremendously! The neighborhood which is a small HOA is adorable and the pool tranquil and pretty! Gretchen was truly kind, helpful and responsive!! We would love to visit again

Another wonderful stay in a perfect house

Having stayed here in 2020, and then having to cancel last year due to us all catching Covid, we were anxious to come to Nantucket again this year and stay in Gretchen's wonderful house again. It did not disappoint. This really is a perfect house - it is still very new, and was clearly well constructed. The location is superb - close to Fat Ladies beach and just a few minutes drive from Miacomet and Cisco. The house has very tasteful furnishings, and comes with all manner of nice touches which you rarely see in ACK rental houses. One thing to note is that this house genuinely sleeps 10 people, with 4 ensuite bedrooms and a second ensuite master on the ground floor which currently has a pull-out sofa. There is outdoor dining for 8 at the large table with another table that could fit 4, and indoor dining for at least 8. Many ACK houses will claim to sleep 8 but in reality they don't have the space for more than 5 or 6 - this is not one of those houses. Gretchen is really easy to deal with, and we hope to be able to stay here again in the near future.

Wonderful stay on Finback Lane

Our family had a wonderful stay on Finback Lane. The house was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, exactly what you want for a vacation rental. There were many amenities that we really appreciated having access to - beach towels, beach chairs, pack n play, soap/shampoo, coffee, outdoor shower and of course the pool at the end of the street. All of these extras made our stay so enjoyable. In our group there were 2 families (4 adults and 6 children) and there was plenty of space for everyone. There is a bedroom with a king size bed and another room with a queen size pullout. The property is advertised as a home good for 2 families (sleeping for 10) and there were plenty of beds to go around so everyone had a comfortable sleeping arrangements but it would have been ideal to have another of the bedroom with a queen/king size bed. We have been coming to Nantucket for over 10 years with our family and have always stayed close to town so were a little nervous that we may regret staying further inland. We have zero regrets and really enjoyed all of the extra perks of staying further outside of town - the extra space, yard, pool, proximity to the bike back and beaches and quiet neighborhood. We would definitely recommend staying at Finback Lane!

Wonderful week in Nantucket

My family stayed here in August (kids are aged 20, 17 and 14). This is probably the 15th house we have rented in Nantucket over the last 20 years, and it was by far the best. I hope we can stay here again the next time we are here (next year, hopefully). Gretchen is a great host. She is flexible and communicative, with quick replies to any and all questions. Hands down the best owner we have encountered. The house is only a few years old, and it appears to be very well built and in great condition. The fixtures are of a high quality, and the furniture is new and comfortable and stylish. The photos don't do the house justice, as the living room is bigger than it seems, as it the kitchen. The upstairs floor has 3 ensuite bedrooms, while the basement has another bedroom plus a play room. In addition, there is an extra living room with a pull-out sofa; this room also has an ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet. So really there are 5 bedrooms, and this house can comfortably accommodate 10 people (which is unusual in Nantucket where many houses claim to be able to sleep more than they really can). The upstairs floor also has a nice little hallway with a couple of chairs and 2 desks which are a nice touch. Wifi throughout the house is good (it was very sluggish initially but was fine after I rebooted the system). Location is excellent - there's a bike path running past the end of the street so you can get to other parts of the island very easily (and safely). Town is a few minute drive away. There are also some great beaches on this side of the island - Fat Ladies is a few minutes drive away and that was our favorite this year due to its proximity and lack of crowds. The outdoor area is also great, with new teak dining furniture with space for 8 easily, and 10 at a stretch (10 chairs are provided). There's also a table with 2 chairs and a sofa for additional seating, as well as some Adirondack chairs. Outdoor shower, and a handy footwashing station add to the creature comforts. There are also a couple of nice little touches - there's a Dyson vacuum which was really handy for removing sand from the car trunk, and also a blue cooler bag which was great for taking a few drinks to the beach to watch the sunset. All in all, we had a wonderful week, and the house was perfect. 5 stars all around.

Another great trip!

This is our second year in a row staying here and we love it. The house is immaculate- a perfect landing spot for our family. Close to town and all the south shore beaches - plus Bartlett’s Farm and the brewery. We look forward to coming back again!

Great Stay in Nantucket

Our family really enjoyed this property. It is tucked in a great, small subdivision that also feels very secluded. Very well organized and decorated. Convenient location to WAVE stop and within a short bike ride to several restaurants / grocery store.

Why they chose this property

This house was built in 2014 and has been well maintained. It is one of 15 houses in a small development with a common swimming pool (open from about Memorial Day - Labor Day). We are near the beach, golf and easy access to mid island and town. All just a bike ride away!
