SKI LODGE CONDO NEAR BIG POWDERHORN MTN, BLACK RIVER HARBOR, COPPER PEAK

Powdermill Resort economy-level Condo across from the Big Powderhorn Mountain Ski Resort and just minutes from Black River Harbor, Copper Peak, Blackjack and Indianhead Big Snow Resorts.

This is a top floor two-story condo overlooking a beautiful forested area above the Powdermill Creek just north of Powdermill Falls. The condo was totally remodeled in 2020 with new kitchen, bathroom, carpet, fixtures, and more.

The kitchen has a refrigerator with freezer big enough for your provisions and perhaps the day's catch, an electric stove/oven, microwave and coffeemaker. The kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, utensils, pots, pans, and more.

The full bathroom features a shower with adjustable head, tub, toilet, and vanity. The bathroom is stocked with linen service including towels and washcloths.

The living room features a solid oak dining room table, with 4 chairs (a 5th is in the closet you can use), pull-out sofa sleeper and LED smart TV with cable package. The closet also has a cot and linens.

The master suite features a queen bed, workstation, vanity, and additional storage. Note that there is stairs in the unit. No elevator on site.

Difficulty finding:No property name given to us, no address out front, only a HORRIBLY run down outside structure and premise that didn’t look like picture in advertisement. Entry: Dirty, far from welcoming, locked gates across what should have been commons areas. No security to building, multiple areas for intruders to lurk. Room: Opening door to unit was like entering a sauna. No way to control heat (noted as problem in comments written in book in unit in 2021). Ran air conditioner 24/7 and had windows open,just to be able to breath. Couldn’t sleep in loft bed, due to heat, so forced to sleep on poor quality hide-a-bed. Sat on dining room chair and glue joints separated almost causing a fall. Lighting: Poor lighting preventing any reading by couch or playing any games. We would not recommend this place to anyone. Booking through Expedia, we thought we would get a place with some quality. This place should be reviewed if you plan on keeping on your listing.

Great location for skiing
The unit was just as listed and worked out well for us on our ski trip. The unit is in what use to be a resort & conference center that is no longer operating. All the common spaces could use some TLC. The unit itself had everything we needed and the pull out couch was even comfortable. We did struggle with the lock box and the loft was quite warm. We couldn’t figure out how to control the heat so we ended up using both fans to make it more comfortable. Towels need to be replaced they were quite old. All in all we would book again if we ski next season.

Great stay!
This is the 2nd time i've stayed here and it was great each time. Minutes from everything i was in town to do. Comfortable lodging, easy access, and very quiet. I would stay here again!

Perfect for my needs. It was very close to everything i was in town to do and see. Very cozy accommodations and nice decor. Surprisingly quiet also. The host was very prompt with communication and the check in/out was easy. I would stay here again.

Love the old Bavarian-style building. Can see that it's past its prime, but well maintained. Clean and affordable, and close to three ski areas.

I enjoy creating an “up north” experience for guests and recognize the importance of providing the best possible experience we can at a fair price. While it can be stressful managing the properties from so far away, I am complimented by a wonderful local housekeeper, Amanda, who helps out anyway she can.

Why they chose this property

This is a fun "up north" condo across from the Big Powderhorn Ski Resort. It's in a unique building where each condo is owned by individual owners who have updated them differently. This condo sleeps 4 comfortably and has an Army cot for a 5th if you'd like to use it. The kitchen has everything you need to make a meal and if we don't have a specific utensil, just let me know and we can provide it to you.

What makes this property unique

All of my properties have the following on the wall - maybe you can spot them: A deer bottle Opener, a crossed pair of snowshoes, something antique/about the area.
