Jacaranda is part of a charming seafront complex in the quiet village of Karavomylos, just 2 km (or a breezy 20-minute beach stroll) from Sami. Picture lush gardens, a shared pool perfect for cooling off, and a beach just 10 steps away, lined with whispering eucalyptus trees and dreamy views across to Ithaca. We’re not saying it’s paradise... but if the flip-flop fits!

In the village, you’ll find a lovely little bakery/café (dangerously close if you’ve got a weakness for fresh pastries) and a handful of traditional tavernas all within easy walking distance. Sami offers more action, restaurants, supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, pharmacy, even an ATM if you forget to bring euros for that extra scoop of gelato.

You don’t need a car, taxis are easy to find ,but if you're feeling adventurous, Kefalonia is worth exploring. Karavomylos is nicely central, so everything’s within reach. Want to hop to Ithaca, the mainland, or even Italy? Ferries await just down the road.

Inside the apartment, you’ll find two comfy bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with roomy 3/4 twin beds (great for kids or starfish-style sleepers). The sofa in the lounge opens into a double bed too, just in case the whole crew’s along for the ride. There’s a SMART TV, free Wi-Fi for streaming or staying connected, and a kitchen fully stocked for your inner MasterChef—hob, oven, toaster, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, washing machine, even an iron for the very brave.

Ideal location for its peace and access to an empty stretch of beach. Near to a fantastic taverna and breakfast cafe basically opposite each other in the village square. The apartment had everything necessary for a comfortable stay and was easy to find with the instructions and diagrams . Had a wonderful holiday.

About the smell you noticed, it is actually humidity rather than mould, something that happens often in Karavomylos since the apartment sits so close to the sea. Both air conditioners have a dehumidifier setting that helps a lot, but the most effective approach in that area is to air out the place regularly so the sea moisture does not build up. Lovely apartment

The apartment was clean and comfortable. It has everything you need for a great holiday . There is a beautiful narrow beach on your doorstep and Sami is just a short walk away. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short due to personal unforseen circumstances. Panos went above and beyond to help us.

Great stay at Karavomylos

My family had a wonderful time staying in the apartment at Karavomylos. It was very clean, had what was needed to cook meals in and was within easy access to the beach. The shared pool was excellent. It was a lovely 20 minute walk along the beautiful coast into Sami where the restaurants were excellent.

Relaxing Holiday

We had a wonderful week in kefalonia, the apartment was clean and spacious with everything you need. The pool area as lovely with beautiful views of the Ionian sea. A week of reading, relaxing with great food. My only comment would be that the front garden does need to be attention as it is a little overgrown

+ location of the apartment to the local taverna and a 15/20 min stroll into Sami was lovely + very quiet, peaceful beach at the front of the complex block and a short walk to the local beach + good to have a pool on site which was nice and clean + nearby bakery was wonderful for breakfast and snacks and a very short walk - We had trouble finding the apartment entrance following the directions given when we first got there. The people who manage Meliti apartments, which is the name of the complex and have a number of apartments on site, were extremely rude and unhelpful - photos of the apartment were a little misleading. the photos and description made it look like the apartment is facing the sea - you are actually looking at the back of an apartment block and entranceway. - the floor in the apartment and veranda looked like it had not been swept in weeks. I had to brush both when we arrived. - supermarket is in Sami so be prepared for a good walk with groceries/water or get a taxi Overall we had a pleasant stay once we settled in as most of the time was spent outdoors.

Convenient & attractive apartment apaartment

Pleased with the apartment but arriving after dark found the absence of proper entry instructions very frustrating. The complex was named Meliti which had not been mentioned at all and there was no mention/signs of Jacaranda. Mercifully we had grandchildren with us and they were able to explore [which we couldn't have done] and they eventually located the apartment. We had been advised that we didn't need a car and that there were shops within walking distance. The 2 mini markets were shut for the season making a car essential for us. Even the local taverna closed before we left. There were plenty of towels which was excellent. The absence of any form of enclosure to the shower rendered the bathroom floor a nightmare. We also had trouble with the slats of the very small double bed; these came adrift one night which was disconcerting - we are NOT overweight - and discovered that some fixings were missing. Luckily, our grandson was able to make things adequately secure.

Lovely stay with a couple of hiccups

This is a nice apartment with a small garden. It is a 30 second walk to the communal swimming pool which was very clean and we were always able to get a lounger. It is also close to a handful of really nice eateries and a 5 minute drive to Sami. It is also walking distance to the Melissani Cave.I am always very careful not to be overly critical and overall everything was good and we enjoyed our stay very much. However, I would make the following comments for accuracy.Check in was extremely difficult for us and we were unable to make contact with the owner/contact. Directions were given but they weren't easy and straighforward. The key was left in a key safe but it was dark and the apartment was quiet with no-one around to ask. We eventually found the apartment and maybe other guests have found it easily....but we didn't.The back bedroom does not have A/C and it can get hot, so much so one of my sons ended up sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. Also, the bathroom has more than a faint smell of sewage. I have no idea why. It may well be nothing to do with the property itself and not the fault of the owner. It could be a leak or the drains but it is unpleasant and noticeable. It was, therefore, necessary to keep the door close at all times.However, overall these were minor issues, we had a lovely stay and I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment.

We were a little disappointed with the apartment but we loved the locationThe village itself is lovely, although be aware that there is no mini market and the nearest supermarket is in Sami which is a half an hour walk away. There are two very nice tavernas, one right on the beach, the other in the square. Although the description indicates there are sunbeds provided, there are in fact none. The apartment is quite well equipped and some condiments were in the cupboards. The description also says there is air-conditioning, although fails to note that it is not provided in the second bedroom. The extensive wardrobes pictured in the photos are in fact stuffed with things belonging to the owner so that there was no room to hang dresses or store footwear. There were 4 empty drawers though. Most of the lamps and one of the fans has british 3 pin plugs but there were no adaptors, so the lighting was very poor. One extension lead adaptor in the second bedroom didn't work. The bathroom shelf and cabinet were dirty and full of items either left by previous guests and not cleared or left by the owners themselves. We had to remove them to a drawer in the sitting room in order to have somewhere to put our stuff. The two soakaway drains in the bathroom were so clogged with years of hair and gunk that it took a long time for the bathroom floor to dry after use, making it slippery and dangerous for the second and subsequent people using it. Just a few things to make it terrific!

My husband & I spent 10 nights in this apartment in October, and other than a few maintenance jobs that need attending, it is a very good rental. The location was great for exploring the whole island, very central, and there are a couple of wonderful beaches nearby. Unfortunately, there is a very musty mildew smell that greets you on arrival, and has permeated the kitchen cabinets. This was due to either a flood, or the plumbing under the sink, and would be difficult to resolve, but must be attended to if this is going to be a rental suite. You must also be a cat lover, as every time we opened the patio doors to vent the air, one of many cats invited itself inside. Not something easily fixed, especially in Greece, where its abound! They are friendly enough, just a bit annoying at times. The suite was spotlessly clean, and Herminie was very helpful and pleasant to work with. We arrived in the dark, and did not have instructions on how to find this particular unit, but wandered around the complex until I recognized the pictures from the website and found the key in the door. It seems she had been given our wrong contact number, so wasn't able to call us. Lastly, we have never mastered the art of the "wet room" shower, and dislike having to mop the entire bathroom after every shower. Perhaps a shower rod & curtain could be installed to solve this problem for us North American renters that aren't used to this? The place is very well equipped with cooking utensils and linens, and being able to pop a couple of lounges into the trunk when we went to the rocky beaches was lovely! Perhaps a few higher wattage light bulbs would brighten the dark spaces too? Thank you for a good stay!

Thankyou for your comments, we will certainly take them on board and look into the issue with the cupboard. Unfortunately, in low season the cats will be attracted to the few apartments that are actually occupied on a very small complex! We do however, ask guests not to feed them to discourage visits.

Lovely stay at Meliti

We very much enjoyed our stay here for 5 days. The accommodation is very clean and well equipped. We woke up every morning to do a sunrise swim and used the close vicinity of Sami town regularly. There is also very good parking access. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Would come back!

Perfect location

Exactly what we wanted, quiet peaceful location, lovely beach with very few people. One or two minor issues were resolved very quickly. Taverna by the beach a bit disappointing but the bakery VitoSquared on the main road was fantastic. The mini market has closed down so had to go into Sami which was a simple 20 minute walk along the beach path. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back again . Great spot

Had a wonderfully relaxing break in Karavomylos for a week. Access to pool and small pebble beaches is great as well as the taverna down the road. Very close to melisani cave as well. Overall had a great time, would not stay in karavomylos longer than about a week as travel around the island is not quick and roads are enough to make you sea sick. Apartment was as stated online, would offer one suggestion it would be to close in the shower. As I am pregnant was a little nervous getting in and out with all the water splashed onto the tiles. Thanks Marianne for all your help! Wonderful host who is super quick to respond and very accommodating.

beautiful holiday

the apartment is spacious, modern, equipped and very comfortable. very close to the sea and with a nice pool. the owner is always available and kind. the village is peaceful. It is necessary to have the car to move to the nearby centers. The room with the 2 single beds faces the street, is a bit noisy, perhaps it would be necessary to install the air conditioning there too. I recommend installing a shower box in the bathroom to prevent the bathroom from spreading with every shower, for children it can become dangerous. thank you for everything, we had a great time. Wonderful property and location

The apartment is wonderful, and really well stocked with everything you could need. We often have to buy cleaning products and food basics (condiments, tea, coffee etc) in self-catering properties, but there were plentiful supplies of everything, including washing powder, bleach, cooking basics. The beds are also very comfortable. Marianna is really helpful and only a text message away. The only slight negative was that the apartment hadn't been cleaned very thoroughly - the corners of the floors and skirtings had not been swept, but overall the cleanliness was fine, in particular the kitchen area and bathroom. The twin bedroom could also benefit from an air conditioning unit . Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property - we would be more than happy to return here :)

Lovely apartment, great location, helpful people.

We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, well equipped apartment. We were really impressed by our taxi transfer from the airport which had been arranged by Harry, who was waiting to greet us when we arrived. Harry was also really helpful throughout our stay, arranging car hire, responding to our questions and sorting a taxi back to the airport with friendly efficiency. We liked the location, and enjoyed the walk into Sami most days and taking the beach chairs across the road to watch the sunset was another real treat - we saw a kingfisher several times. We’ve been to Kefalonia several times now, but this was our favourite place to stay.

Well stocked and well maintained property. Modern decor, comfortable bedrooms, One twin, one double. Nice kitchen. Everything clean and in good working order. Excellent help on hand from Hermione who booked us taxis, gave us good advice and lent us parasols for the beach! Really close to beach. other beaches- all lovely- all accessible from apartment. Great little pool- clean, warm, pleasant surroundings.

Perfect!

What a find! We were so happy here! It's just how it looks in the pictures, 5 seconds walk and you're on the beautifully natural coast line with a sea view I never wanted to stop looking at! The apartment was lovely and very well equipped. Help is always at hand from Hermione and Regina who can't do enough for you, they were just so lovely, We've never been so well looked after but they were always careful not to be intrusive, they are amazingly good at their jobs, we feel like we've made 2 new friends. Really loved the pool, it's also in a beautiful setting. Loved Karavomilos too, un-touristy, a naturally charming little place with really friendly people. As you can probably tell, I think we'll be going back!!

Beautiful location, lovely people , stunning Island, but.....

Karavomylos proved to be a lovely choice for our 11 day. Holiday. The location perfect between 2 small ports, one of which is an easy walk along the sea shore. You'll find plenty of choice of Tavernas in both places. The property was spotlessly clean and decor fresh. The Management couldn't have been more helpful and friendly assisting us in every possible way, advice on trips (great) where best for seafood etc. Sadly, nothing is perfect and the 2nd bedroom at the rear proved to be a big problem from the point of view of noise from intermittent busy road traffic. Its only window which is high up opens out at pavement level on the other side only a few meters from the road. The rumble and roar of lorries etc, was at times unbelievable. This wouldn't be a problem if you were just a couple or needed the 2nd bedroom for children who could perhaps sleep through lots of loud noise. Pack earplugs!

We chose this spot for its easy, breezy vibe and central location ,it’s the perfect base for exploring the whole island. Plus, there's a magic in the light here... sunsets over the Ionian Sea just hit different.
