About this property
Waterfront Modern Retreat - Heated Pool & Spa
This exquisitely renovated 5br, 3.5ba modern home overlooks Swan Pond & Gardiners Bay, offering stunning sunset views on the water. Relax by the heated pool & large in-ground hot tub or cozy up by the midcentury fireplace. Walk to the beach, enjoy the sonos & smart TV’s, 9 bikes, 4 paddleboards & 3 kayaks, or take in the sunset while you prepare dinner in the fully stocked chef's kitchen. Modern designer furniture promotes effortless indoor-outdoor living with refined simplicity. Registry #24-14
Thoughtfully designed as the perfect vacation spot for all seasons, the clean, modern house is owned and designed by a fashion photographer and designer duo. Walk just 3-5 minutes through a gorgeous private path to a serene beach with views of the North Fork and Shelter Island.
Architecture and Landscape
The heart of the house is the soaring, light-filled great room on the upper level with 16-foot vaulted wood-paneled ceilings and sweeping views of the bay and pond. The living area with wraparound sofa with a 65in Sony smart TV w/cable, the dining area anchored by a reclaimed oak parsons 12-person dining table and Danish wishbone chairs, and the chef kitchen, complete with granite countertops, double gas oven and every modern appliances you will need, all come together in the glow of natural light and a modern Serge Mouille chandelier. Sliding glass doors connect the interior to the generous outdoor deck, pool & hot tub area, with a grass lawn that abuts our very own Swan Pond. Evergreens planted along the property borders make the home feel extra private.
Sleeping + Bathing Accommodations
All five bedrooms have new top-of-the-line memory foam mattresses. The primary suite is located on the upper level. It includes a king bed, queen sofa bed, great morning light, 55-in. smart TV, and en-suite marble bath as well as access to another half bath down the hall. The first floor has four equally spacious guest bedrooms (two king, two queen) all with outdoor access to the pool and hot tub area. These three bedrooms share two full baths (one of them is also en-suite) on the same floor, one of which has a glass walk-in shower and the other a tub/shower combo, all new bathrooms.
Outdoor Living
The 18’x36’ heated pool and 8'x10' in-ground hot tub are surrounded by wood decking and a brand new blue-stone patio. The hot tub is available year-round. It holds 10-12 people and has a plunge area that is 4ft deep. The 10-foot outdoor RH dining table with bright yellow bistro chairs is perfect for poolside entertaining. There is also a covered terrace with modern RH outdoor couches and cushions, a teak RH patio table overlooking the water, and a Weber gas grill next to the pool. Finish off your day at the beach in our rain shower outdoor shower offering both hot & cold water + changing room near the pool deck.
*Please note that heating the pool & hot tub are extra. Pool heat can run anywhere from $60-$200/day depending on your desired temp. Hot tub is around $25 daily to heat.
**Pool closes around the middle of October and will re-open April/May (weather permitting).
*** The hot tub is open year round.
Amenities and Accoutrements
The house is stocked with virtually everything you need for any season. We have 12 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas, beach towels, pool floats, great rainy day puzzles and games like Jenga, Monopoly, Cards Against Humanity, etc. There are five smart TVs in the house, including in four bedrooms, with the great room hooked up to cable. New washing machine + dryer on the lower level. For outdoor activities, the house comes with 7 brand new, vintage-style beach cruisers for easy riding around town. We also have 4 paddleboards and a pair of kayaks (1 double and 1 single). We keep our kayaks docked on the marina down the street for easy access (5min walk). We have everything you could possibly need for a large family gathering or dinner party. In additional to all the essentials, we have a waffle iron, Cuisinart drip coffee maker as well as a N'espresso machine, built-in wine rack and plenty of available cupboard and counter storage. Should you wish to set the indoor or outdoor tables we have stylish placemats and modern dishware. We have a brand new (summer 2019) high-end GE gas double oven allowing one to bake/roast things at two separate temperatures.
