About this property
Scenic Southwest Style Mountain Retreat, Close to Santa Fe & Taos
Your family reunion, retreat group, youth function, or art tour attendees will be comfortable in the spacious 10 bedroom suites at the Truchas Peaks Place lodge, a 12,000 square foot facility. There are many spaces for group interaction as well as private space for quiet reflection after a day of skiing. Located on the High Road, State Road 76, midway between Santa Fe and Taos, Truchas Peaks Place is strategically situated for access to additional area attractions, whether that is gallery shopping, taking in the selection of fine dining, skiing, hiking, or visiting historical sites.
Truchas Peaks Place, located on the High Road to Taos, and nestled at the foot of the Truchas Peaks Mountains, is 45 minutes from either Santa Fe or Taos. Newly constructed, the spacious building melds traditional adobe architecture with the territorial pitched roof style for a southwest ambiance while indulging the visitor with modern amenities. Guests can easily travel State Road 76, a New Mexico Scenic Byway, to find Truchas Peaks Place both accessible and secluded. There are ten bedroom suites. Each suite has a queen size bed, luxury linens, writing tables. Six suites have private bathrooms, four of the suites share two bathrooms.
Providing the amenities of a fine hotel, Truchas Peaks Place is an ideal location for small retreats, conferences and workshops, or reunions and weddings. The bedroom accommodations are complemented by ample meeting rooms.
Book your accommodations at Truchas Peaks Place, then head north to Sipapu Ski Resort, a short 30 minute drive, to reach New Mexico’s family friendly ski area. Sipapu, with affordable lift ticket prices, usually opens before any other resort in New Mexico and has the longest ski season in the state.
Common spaces include a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, dining room, 3 sitting rooms and a large library all available for guests to share. A floor plan is available on our website. The entire structure has 12,000 square feet of space. Common areas and second floor suites have gas fireplaces.
Individual suites may be rented depending on availability.
Outside, are decks and portals for panoramic views of the Truchas Peaks, the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, the Jemez Mountains and the Pedernal, made famous in the paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe.
Awake with the sun streaming in your windows; sit on decks or portals and breathe in fresh mountain air while your eyes are treated to magnificent views of the Truchas Peaks. Create your own private reprieve from traffic, congestion, crowds. Find your connection to the natural world through the serenade of birds by morning or the croak of frogs by evening. Be open to the surprise of a sudden rain shower or snow fall that unexpectedly makes way for pure clear blue skies to break through.
Just around the corner, you find the village of Truchas, settled in 1754 and still maintaining the link to its Hispanic heritage. Spanish is often spoken and the buildings are still constructed of adobe. There is a flourishing art community with numerous art galleries exhibiting contemporary art as well as regional arts, weaving and woodcraft.
Truchas Peaks Place provides a leisurely atmosphere, where you can use the space to structure your own getaway, making day trips to the attractions of Northern New Mexico or finding comfort in relaxing within a restful, rural setting.

About the host
Hosted by Alex Peer

I am a Jungian Psychotherapist living in San Francisco. I frequently return to the beautiful village of Truchas in order to re-connect with the serenity of nature & tend to my responsibilities as owner of Truchas Peaks Place. The Truchas Peaks Place office is staffed year-round by our on-site staff.
Why they chose this property
Come and find out for yourself -- Truchas is an inspiring, quiet, natural village that runs at an agricultural pace & is very much in tune with the beautiful landscapes of the Southwest. The property contains 3-acres of serene space & the building itself was built to my specifications in order to be the premier retreat center of Northern New Mexico.
What makes this property unique
Our retreat center is absolutely one-of-a-kind in this old mountain village. Panoramic mountain views from our wraparound decks, inspiring literature in our upstairs library, and the peacefulness of our rural community are just some of the unique benefits Truchas Peaks Place has to offer.
