We absolutely loved our stay here. The property was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean with lovely light filled bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped- it genuinely had everything we could possibly need to cook a three-course meal.The pool was simply divine and such a joy to come back to each day, and having the beautiful herb garden on hand was a lovely touch. We especially loved the walk down to the river for an alternative swim - it was such a peaceful and delightful part of our stay. We felt completely at home here and would happily return in a heartbeat. A truly special place.

This is without a doubt the best place we have stayed in. It is absolutely stunning both in location and the property and decor too. It is an absolute gem.The check in process was fantastic. No issues or problems. The property is exactly as described, even better than we had hopped. You're made to feel very welcome by the owners Donald and Maureen. The area is fantastic too. We will certainly be back to stay here again in the future.

What a lovely property, it was a real pleasure to deal with Donald who was fast to respond and provide excellent information and advice.We really enjoyed the pool and the ability to walk into town. The house was extremely comfortable and well appointed- a real home from home. The beds were divine and the house worked well with our family.The lack of AC was a bit of a concern - but the ceiling fans were a revelation, so good we will fit them at home.I’d give the property a 10 out of 10 and would definitely stay there again.

We had the most wonderful holiday ever in Donald's amazing property on the river. The house is just gorgeous, very comfortable and kitted with everything you could need or imagine. Lovely beds, lovely bathrooms, and a really super kitchen. Outside, the pool is heavenly in the Dordogne heat, and there's always the river at the bottom of the garden to swim in or canoe on. The grounds are well cared for, with mature trees offering shade if needed, and herbs and fruit for the picking. A 10-min walk away across the bridge is the charming village of Trémolat and some really fab restaurants, and there are many more high quality restaurants within short driving distance. Don't miss the awesome 20,000-year-old cave paintings at Lascaux IV, a 50-min drive away. In summary, Donald's house is just perfect, a haven of tranquillity and peace in a beautiful part of France.

The villa is absolutely beautiful. The hosts have thought of everything you may need and more to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. The pool area and outdoor spaces are beautifully maintained. We particularly enjoyed using the fresh herbs from the garden to cook with. I can highly recommend hiring a Kayak from St Cyprienne. We were dropped off 18km upstream and took a leisurely cruise back to our start point. We tried both of the restaurants in Trémolat and enjoyed both meals. There is also a Michelin starred restaurant in the village. Check in and out was easy and both the house keeper and landscaper stopped by to check in on us. The hosts are extremely friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend staying at Le Chabrol.

This was our second stay at this special property, and we had a wonderful time. The host and property manager are kind and helpful. The property is peaceful and well located to explore the area - it is also incredibly relaxing to just stay by the pool and river. We plan on a third visit!

Fantastically appointed and in a great location. Spotless and an amazing ‘user’s guide’ provided with plenty of suggestions as to what to do in the area. Shame we could only stay a week!

Living a dream

Every aspect of our stay at the beautiful ‘Le Chabrol’ was idyllic. Such a comfortable and beautifully decorated home, well appointed kitchen (we had eager chefs staying with us), lovely shaded garden and swimming in both the pool and river enjoyed by all.

Second visit just as wonderful!

I adore this house! Set in the fields by the river it had everything we needed for a stay in rural France - great kitchen, sparkling lightly heated pool, comfortable beds with high quality linen, privacy and peace and quiet and an easy walk to the charming village of Tremolat. This was my second stay and there will be a third!

Perfect!

Our stay at the house was perfect! Such a beautiful house that was spotlessly clean. We felt so at home within minutes of arriving. Communications were great with the owner. We are already planning our return visit!!

Lovely home, great pool and gardens to river

The property was very comfortable and well equipped, a 15 minute walk to the centre of Tremolat across the bridge. The garden and field between the house and river are lovely -lots of birds and butterflies. The tables inside and in the garden were great for our party of 5 and would be fine for 6 to 8. We wound recommended to anyone😊

Fun for all of us!

The house was beautiful. It was just as advertised. We did a lot of swimming on most days before we would adventure out to the different towns and villages. In the evening, we would enjoy the various restaurants and the fantastic cuisine the area offered. All in all, it was an experience that we will always remember.

Beautiful house in the Dordogne

Beautiful house on the edge of the peaceful village of Tremolat. We enjoyed swimming in the river at the end of the garden - in July, the water was lovely and warm. The owner and property manager were very responsive and helpful during our stay, and the "user's guide" to the property was the most comprehensive and useful that I've seen in over 20 years of holiday rentals. Plenty of good restaurants within a 30 -40 minute drive (and three within easy reach in Tremolat itself), and a lovely kitchen if you decide to eat in. Lots of good day trips possible to surrounding castles, medieval villages, prehistoric caves, etc. Or you can just chill by the pool!

Fun in the Dordogne!

I am 9 years old and loved my stay at Le Chabrol with my parents. I swam everyday in the pool and sketched and did watercolors down by the river with my mother. We rode bikes to Tremolat a few times. I enjoyed the house a lot, it was very comfortable and pretty. Also, we went canoeing one day!

Retirement holiday

Wonderful , relaxing holiday ,evenings at the picnic area by the river at sunset we’re sublime. Best equipped kitchen we have ever had ( my husband is international cook ) so some credit indeed ! Very comfy beds , quiet home .Very helpful introductory guide to house environs and surrounding area . Good Wi fi. Connection , Lovely home - Great holiday !
