Great fit for our family!

We thoroughly enjoyed this location. I had 5 teenagers with me and while I want them to enjoy their vacation, I also want some quiet downtime and not the chaos. The beach was private and we enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding, we were literally so close to the dolphins when we were out on the paddle boards and kayaks. Highly recommend and we will definitely return!

The house is very comfortable whit a good a/c in a good area you have everything close Walgreens, Walmart ,cvs ,target, gas station iff you guys like fishing🎣 , jet ski, snorkel everything you wanna do is close no more than 10 min ..... My family and I had a great time on this vacation, so much so that we are already going to plan on going back next year and hope to rent the same condo again. It was plenty spacious enough for the 9 people that came. There was a minor issue during the week that was fixed immediately when we called. I would highly recommend this location for anyone wanting a beach vacation.

Great place!

The condo was very clean, nicely decorated, and welcoming. The location was perfect for us because we had little kids that could play out in the patio/grassy are while we cooked, and we didn't have to mess with stairs. The only downfall of being on the ground level is that you really can't see the ocean from the condo due to the sand dunes... you can hear it though! It's a very short walk to the pool and beach. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place -- but a few things amiss

We've been staying at the Aegean for over 35 years. My siblings and I came with our parents when we were children and now we all bring our own families. I love the first floor units because they are much larger than the second floor units. This one is beautifully decorated. The bunks in the hall are a nice touch and the beds were extremely comfortable. When we first arrived, we noticed the front door of the unit totally open with a cleaning wagon out front. My sister's unit was ready, so we sat in their unit as we kept an eye on ours. Two hours went by and the front door was entirely open and no one went in or out. I was always under the impression that this is really not good for the AC units. Finally someone went in and finished cleaning and we were able to enter after check in time. The floor wasn't incredibly clean (when I took my shoes off, I could feel sand and dirt and we hadn't even been to the beach), and the kitchen had some food on the floor between the mat and the refrigerator. The master bedroom sliding door wasn't locked because the lock is broken (we later discovered a lock that was higher up the door that did work). The kitchen sink light was out (lightbulb dangling) and the garbage disposal was broken. I saw a business card on the fridge with a property manager's name so I called that. No one came. We managed to get by until I was cooking a day later and noticed the sink was backing up. I messaged through VRBO to make sure I had no accountability since I had already notified them of this when we arrived, and they said they were on it. I also called Dina (the name on the business card) who said, "Oh, I dropped the ball on this." REALLY??? You dropped the ball on YOUR JOB? I'm grateful that they were able to fix it and the problem was solved so that no damage would occur. I'm not critical or hard to please, but I do take really good care of the properties I visit and I do have some expectations in return. The can opener was broken, the pots and pans were very worn and had the teflon falling off, the dryer wasn't working right, etc. I think the unit needs some love and attention for some of the minor things because clearly Dina isn't doing it. Maybe this review is more detailed than most but I love the Aegean and like to take care of it. I really hope that a lot of these issues are management-related and these things can be fixed for the owners who are trusting these people and for future renters.

Second time staying here. Love the place, the space you have, and the overall decor. It's also nice to have plenty of space on the patio with a grassy area to play games. Easy walk to the beach. Since it's on the first floor, the view is good but not great but there are trade offs with most places. Very close to most things you will want to do.

The condo was clean, comfortable, and convenient to anything you could want or need. We were traveling with our three boys ages 10, 8 and 3 and my parents who are in their 70s. It was so easy to get to the beach, we could easily go back and forth for naps for our toddler, snacks, etc. The umbrella and chair setup each day was wonderful! If you like to sit on the beach in the evening though, be sure to bring your own chair or use one of the ones provided at the condo bc they take the umbrella and chairs down around 5. The pool area is clean and beautiful. Our 8 year old learned how to swim while we were there. We love the rules in place at the complex: it keeps it very family-friendly and relaxing. You can easily see the ocean from the patio area, but you can’t see the waves breaking on the shore bc it is ground level. We loved sitting in the high platform chairs and watching the boats with our binoculars. We saw dolphins four different times, twice they were super close to the shore. Definitely a highlight. We had very minor maintenance issues (lightbulbs and toaster) and they were handled promptly and everyone we talked to was friendly, not like some places where they make you feel like you’re bothering them if you have a problem. The owners got back to us quickly any time we had a question and were wonderful to work with. We love Destin and try to come at least once a year. We’ll be coming back here again for sure!!

We loved this condo! The unit was clean, spacious, and had everything we would ever need - kitchen was fully stocked! Beautiful unit, great location, well equipped, & comfortable!

We had a wonderful vacation. The unit was exactly as described/pictured. The kitchen had everything we needed. I do wish there was a broom, the dust mop just didn’t cut it. The vacuum worked ok but a broom would be best catching all the sand. There were tons of sand toys, shovels, & many critter catching nets. A couple boogie boards and beach chairs are there. We loved having the beach service, so glad that is included. Great location, right on the beach and close to everything we needed. We loved that the beach wasn’t over crowded like the beaches in front of the larger buildings. The pool was not as large as we expected but it wasn’t crowded, nice & clean too. We would most definitely stay here again! Thank you for a great rental.

This Condo was very nice and updated. It looks just like the pictures.. Only couple things. Television volume goes up and down and some of the fan remotes did not work. Back sliding door was hard to open and close. Would still give this Condo a 9.75 out of 10...Hopefully staying here again...

It is safe to say that are family has taken its last trip to HHI for awhile because Destin and this condo stole our hearts. The condo and its amenities are exactly as promised. The patio is awesome at all times of the day. There is a short walk to the beach, which is well maintained and huge. Even on the busiest of beach days, we had plenty of room. I cannot adequately express how great of an experience we had. We will be back and cannot wait to stay at this property again. Thank you for the great experience.

Great, relaxing time

We have stayed in probably 10 different units at the Aegean, and both my husband and I think that this is the best one so far. The extra bunks, updated washer and dryer, and end unit were just a few perks. Weather and ocean were perfect. Only wish we could see the beach, but totally enjoyed our private deck outside. Will most definitely try to get this condo again!
