Stefan was a wonderful host. The property was impeccably clean and exactly as described. Recommended
My family (3 young kids) and I had a lovey time at this four bedroom property in Waubaushene. The property was very clean and exactly as described. The large number of bedrooms were great to have space for the kids, my wife and I. The hot tub and fire pit made the evenings really fun and we had a great time on the lake with the kayaks. Would definitely recommend this place.
The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated. It has all the great features of a cabin while including modern details. The location is perfect with access to the trail and water from the backyard. Hot tub & sauna were a great way to unwind in the evenings. Stephen and Rosa are great hosts who responded quickly appreciate their stay green signs in the rooms we didn’t use. Would highly recommend to stay here
Upgrades were lovely, they do a lot with the square footage they have. We never even used the hot tub or sauna, but that is a bonus for sure. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. We BBQ'd often and enjoyed that. Only thing was there was too much ice on on the deck leading to the door and we slipped and fell several times. Very difficult to maintain, I'm sure. Great spot with great hosts. Recommend
Clean, roomy cottage good for day trips in the area or staying in
We enjoyed staying and Stephen and Roza's cottage for a few days while doing some outdoors activities in the Muskoka area. The cottage is close to the 400 highway, so it felt convenient to drive to different parks in the area. Their canoe and kayaks and the trail right by the backyard leading to a launch point and the beach also mean that there's plenty to do while staying close by. The cottage rooms and living areas are well-styled and clean where it matters, so it's relaxing if you want to stay in. Kitchen is well-stocked with all your regular cooking implements. We didn't spend much time outdoors in the yard so I can't say definitively if it was buggy, but it seemed under control during the day time in the open areas. Another thing we noticed was that the mattresses (for the 3 rooms in the main house) are nice and stable (yet still soft and comfy), so a good feature if you're sharing and hoping to minimize disturbing the other person.
This cottage was a nice quiet gem in a very beautiful area. We loved the proximity to the trails and water, the very friendly neighbors, and the beautiful sunsets. There were tennis courts at a park nearby that we took full advantage of. The propane fire pit was very convenient, and the grill was excellent. Check-in was seamless, and they had a binder with thorough instructions for many of the questions we had.
However, I feel that there were a few details I had wished I'd known before booking. One of the bedrooms is in a bunkie, which is not in the listing description, and hard to tell from pictures. The place gets extremely buggy at night - we were swarmed with bugs at the entrances making it difficult for the bunkie folks to get to and from their room. Also, there are strict rules around quiet hours (no outdoor activities after 10pm onwards). While we weren't planning on any loud outdoor events (and the bugs made it difficult to be outside), it would have been helpful to know beforehand. Also the supplies at the cottage are extremely minimal (2-3 garbage bags, 2-3 dishwasher tabs, 1 roll of paper towels, basic cooking utensils etc.) so I would recommend bringing some extras of these items as needed.
Communication with the host was prompt and polite. I appreciated them checking in throughout our stay. Overall I would recommend this cottage but I think if they update the listing to be a bit more comprehensive, groups will be able to prepare for their trips better.

Hi Gaurie,
thank you for your comments, although i would like to express that our cottage has been enjoyed by several guests without any issues in the past. Our listing is clear and concise and we would never intentionally promote or display any pictures or explanations in any deceitful misinterpreted way.
We are not in control of Mother Nature and the bugs in cottage country are out of our control. Our cottage is fully stocked for our guests enjoyment with a full supply of kitchen utensils for 8 individuals, knives, forks, spoons, glasses, dishes, frying pan, roasting pan, cookie sheet etc etc.
We do supply 3 / 4 garbage bags and 3 or 4 blue bags and several dishwashing tabs for your use, how many garbage bags do you need for a weekend ?
We have extra garbage bags and paper towel in one of the cupboards for your use. There was no communication with respect to these required items when we were communicating with each other and no further questions or concerns from you regarding our cottage. We are very open about our cottage and willing to answer any and all questions prior to your arrival although you did not send any inquiry to us prior to your check in and did not make any comment during your stay except with the bug situation. (once again Mother Nature)
My wife and I are a bit disappointed that you would rate our cottage 3* if you are basing your review on paper towels or dishwashing tabs and the fact that there are bugs in cottage county....something out of our control. Nevertheless we value your comments and will look at making our listing more transparent and ensure that we leave out extra bags and tabs for our future guests. Furthermore, we were disappointed that you did not inform us of the broken handle that was left on the bed and you didn't tell us as well :( Best Wishes to you and your family
Our stay at Stephen’s property was perfect. We needed to get out of the city and see the stars. The cottage was beautiful and homey and decorated with a relaxing feel. The trail right behind the property we perfect for bike rides and leisurely walks.
Getting in touch with Stephen was a breeze and he responded right away when we had questions. Would highly recommend this property.
We enjoyed very much being at the cottage with our 4 months old son. Its designed for 8 people, but there was just 3 of us. The trails next door, very close proximity to the beach with very clean water made this stay a little paradise. We enjoyed gás boné fire, sauna, jacuzzi. Essencials like towels, soap, coffee, tea, even bbq condiments and all kitchen utencils made our stay very comfortable.Week days We spent here were on the quiet side, which we preffered having little baby with us. Thank you to the owners. We definitely will be back and recommend to our friends.
My wife and I slipped away for a few nights to recharge and this was a great choice. Cozy, clean and a great location. Our dog especially enjoyed the long walking/biking trail.
