Very nice get away close to all the mountains and events at the resort. This would be ideal for a family get away. The house was clean and comfortable for a weekend getaway in the fall. Loved the screened in porch. And the kitchen was well set up for stay. Recommend for future get away.
We had a great stay for JMU's homecoming weekend. The house was clean, well stocked and perfect location gor our stay. We've stayed at several places over the years, and this is our favorite.
This was our second time staying here, and it’s a really nice place to stay in Massanutten! The layout of the home is great, comfortable beds, and everything you need for a quiet and peaceful stay when enjoying the resort!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house clean. The home was perfect for visiting our daughter and celebrating graduation from JMU.
Greatly enjoyed our stay with two families and plenty of room to spread out without losing ourselves in the home. The place was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with games and zones for easy play together.
Great location, close proximity to Shenandoah National Park. Perfect for day trips to the park. Everything you need is close by. The house was exactly as described and had all the comforts of home. Would definitely stay there again.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
The house was ideal for a long weekend massanutten trip but the external ice conditions were extremely unsafe, the house was not up to code lacking working fire and carbon monoxide alarms, and the host was very unresponsive, often failing to respond to messages for over twenty hours. VRBO was apparently unable to get in direct contact with the host about the unsafe ice conditions but the problem was solved within their 24 hour window, no solution for lacking alarms was made over the 4 night stay.
The home was just as described. We’ve stayed in other properties in Massanutten and this was by far our favorite. Managers/owners provided clear directions, the house was well-appointed and the screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee.
This property was awesome. Very cozy & comfortable. Some of the most soft carpet ever. The only issues we had was with the app that is used to lock and unlock the door. It doesnt work great. Maybe a lock that utilizes a code would be more helpful.

Awesome house
The property was beautiful and very accurate with the listing. However, the cleanliness was a little disappointing. The deck looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned it weeks. We had to clean before using it. The kitchen rug for spotted and soiled. Just a little TLC would have made our stay better. For the amount we paid for cleaning along with the mandatory insurance, we should have received better.
Overall the house is great, clean, nice location, well equipped. I stayed there with my elderly mother who uses a walker because it’s a one story and had a few challenges with the big step to get in the house, no handles in the shower, the beds were too high and the gravel driveway. But there were wide doors and hallway. To unlock the house I had to download an app, create an account, log in, and use my phone. If anyone else needed to lock or unlock the door I had to provide their name and number so they could do the same. Kinda inconvenient vs a code. The place could use some small touches like extra pillows, throw blankets, a hair dryer but we appreciated the toiletries starter kit. Note that it is not really a mountain view but you can see a mountain through the trees in the back. And you can’t set the thermostat above 70 degrees.

Kristine,
We wish we would have know prior to your stay about elderly mother and we would have placed you in one of our different properties that would have been more accommodating for someone elderly.
Wanted a single story house to have adult family members enjoy JMU graduation weekend. Better alternative to 3 hotel rooms …close enough to enjoy events but still have downtime together.

Matthew was a great guest and hope to host him again in the future.
App to unlock the front door didn't work for us. Thankfully the owners had a plan B. Owners mentioned that pillows and towels returned to the rental this week. Towels were available but no pillows on the beds.
This property was fabulous. it was just like being at home. Had everything we needed to have a great weekend. We were there for our Grandson's JMU graduation and it was very close to Harrisonburg and all it's amenities. Thank you to the owners for allowing us this opportunity.
This was a perfect long weekend getaway. The house is very well located right beside the mountain resort. It is well furnished, clean, updated and exactly as described. We loved settling into the living room to binge watch Netflix after hiking the trails in the Shenandoah!!!
Everything was great about our stay except their was a bad ant problem in the kitchen area. And in the listing it says the home can sleep 8 people but it can not. The home can only sleep 6. Their are 3 bedrooms with three large beds but no pull out couch or air beds, so the home in fact can not actually sleep 8 people. Other than that, the home was beautiful and we had a great time.
Newly renovated home, nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac that provided us a nice little escape for a few days. The screened porch and deck make for relaxing places to take in the fresh mountain air! The property manager was extremely responsive as well! Will definitely consider staying here again if in Massanutten!

Why they chose this property
This has been a family home for two generations and we have decided to open it to new friends and families. Originally, this was a place to get away as a family and build memories without electric devices. This became our place to meet and share time. The home has shared itself with my families over the years and has built last memories for many.
What makes this property unique
One of the great benefits to our home is that it is one story and allows for a safer stay with those with older family members.
