Everything went smoothly and the process was very easy to check in and check out. Location was perfect for getting away from the city. We used the cabin as our home-base while we camped in the National Forrest Wilderness nearby, it functioned perfect for what we needed. Very pretty in the winter and we cant wait to come see it in the fall!

Cozy little cabin. The fridge was dirty and we had to empty the bucket under the sink but those were the only issues. Beautiful area for walking. We loved the beach. Definitely going back next year.
Wonderful property - my extended family rented all 6 cabins for a few nights after a wedding. Cabins are clean and comfortable, property is beautiful, staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed campfires every night and paddling on the river and swimming in the lake.
Cabin and property were great. We love staying here and enjoy the nature and the lake! Many opportunities for other activities, depending on what you want to do just a car drive away. The only bad part of this trip was the pot holes on the county road, we just drove around them best we could. We will be back again!
Peaceful and quiet area with the convenience of Duluth being a short drive away. Beautiful site and we were able to spend lots of quality time with our group!
My dog and I stayed here for two nights. The rustic cabin had a very comfortable bed and I had everything that I needed. Located close to the area I wanted to explore. We walked to Lake Superior from the cabin.
Staying at Amnicon allowed my kids to have a taste of camping but still able to sleep in a bed. We used the cabin as a base and did day trips around the north shore. The camp was quiet and clean. We had a great trip.
Cabin was just what we needed- peaceful area - outhouse light from inside cabin was a helpful touch—quick response from staff with questions- outhouse was a bit stinky and wish the fridge was bigger but it was a great stay can’t wait to go back!
We enjoyed our stay in this rustic cabin. There was plenty of space for all 5 of us and it was clean. The camp is nice and quiet. It's located at the end of a long dirt road, which we did not know, but it worked out.

About the host
Hosted by Camp Amnicon
Camp Amnicon Adventures & Retreats is a high-adventure summer camp that offers guided wilderness trips to small groups of middle & high school students. We are ELCA-affiliated, and welcoming to people of all genders, races, and backgrounds. Our mission is to guide people to experience Grace & Growth in the wild places of creation. We hope that you get to experience deep peace while you're here.
At our base-camp, we rent out 6 small/personal retreat cabins and a big four-season lodge, as well several as hike-in campsites and seasonal glamping wall-tents. The cabins are far enough apart from each other and the main public spaces of the camp that you will get a nice amount of privacy. But you should also expect to see other people around the main areas of camp, at the beach, on the walking-paths, and in the public restrooms in the lodge. If you'd like to see a map of the grounds before making a reservation, feel free to send us a message and we'll be more than happy to share it with you.
99% of the year, our site is quiet and serene. There are a few days during the summer when we'll have several groups of campers coming through base-camp for day of orientation before they head out on their guided adventure trips. If you'd like to avoid these high-traffic days, please contact us prior to making your reservation. We're more than happy to share with you how busy we might expect any particular dates to be.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or need help deciding if our cabins will be a good fit for you!
