We felt a bit mislead. The camp is an adventure camp for kids. If the kids were in camp instead of out canoe camping, we would’ve been right in the middle of all that. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. The lodge shower and flush toilet facilities were never cleaned. Trash never emptied, toilets and sinks were very dirty. Our cabin was cute. The beach was beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed the quiet the most but that would’ve been gone if the kids were in camp.

It was certainly not our intention to mislead you. Our business is named Amnicon Adventures and Retreats because yes, we offer guided adventure trips and on-site retreats. It was not accidental that you never encountered the adventure campers. There are 5 or 6 Sundays each summer where our site is overrun with teenagers being prepped for their canoe trips. We intentionally block off the rental cabins on those dates to provide a better experience to both our campers and our cabin guests.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the cabin you rented. I hope you also got a chance to enjoy our enormous sandy beach on Lake Superior as well. Thank you for the feedback that the bathrooms were not satisfactory. We all have room for growth, and keeping the bathrooms cleaner for our cabin guests is something we can work on.
Everything went smoothly and the process was very easy to check in and check out. Location was perfect for getting away from the city. We used the cabin as our home-base while we camped in the National Forrest Wilderness nearby, it functioned perfect for what we needed. Very pretty in the winter and we cant wait to come see it in the fall!
Wonderful property - my extended family rented all 6 cabins for a few nights after a wedding. Cabins are clean and comfortable, property is beautiful, staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed campfires every night and paddling on the river and swimming in the lake.

Cozy little cabin. The fridge was dirty and we had to empty the bucket under the sink but those were the only issues. Beautiful area for walking. We loved the beach. Definitely going back next year.
Cabin and property were great. We love staying here and enjoy the nature and the lake! Many opportunities for other activities, depending on what you want to do just a car drive away. The only bad part of this trip was the pot holes on the county road, we just drove around them best we could. We will be back again!
Peaceful and quiet area with the convenience of Duluth being a short drive away. Beautiful site and we were able to spend lots of quality time with our group!
My dog and I stayed here for two nights. The rustic cabin had a very comfortable bed and I had everything that I needed. Located close to the area I wanted to explore. We walked to Lake Superior from the cabin.
