About this property
Casa Blowdega, Vintage Beach Cottage
Step into a beautifully and tastefully remodeled beach cottage with original wooden floors, lovely mid century details, solid Carerra marble bathroom, and redwood deck. Open living space with dual sliders to redwood deck, one full bedroom with one convertible dining room open to kitchen that sleeps additional 2 people, and sleeper bed in living room along with couches for plenty of comfort and entertaining potential. We like to think of ourselves as a authentic historic cabin. The owner was super helpful, friendly, and a great communicator. The house is a super cute vintage cottage, perfect for a family. Located right in town near the shops with close beach access. We had a great time, our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Had a great time on our trip. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you!
Title says it all. Property manager was also really helpful and personable. He told us about potential traffic due to road construction so that was very helpful as we were driving to the stay already. Overall loved it.
My daughters and I needed a quick get-away. We came in late, got lost, and Stephen was awesome at helping us get to the house. It was quiet and nice. Thank you, Stephen!
Blowdega is a cozy cottage with natural charm in a very quiet location. Great location for exploring beaches in the area. Steve is a kind and very accomodating host.
We really enjoyed our time at Steve’s house. He kept in contact with us before and during our visit and made sure we had everything we needed. The place is well equipped and really clean. It’s not fancy but very comfortable. It’s an original fisherman’s cabin and has a great feeling about it. We were able to make use of the Sonoma Parks Pass multiple times. Very cool!!! If you’re looking for a base to do some fishing or exploring in the area, this is the place. Highly recommend!!Thanks Steve, we’ll be back soon.
We had a very pleasant stay at the Casa Blowdega. As other reviewers have stated, it is not on the water and does not have an ocean view. However the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The house has its quirks: no central heat (portable room heaters and a woodstove), small bedroom ( no nightstands, no dresser or drawers), no counter space in the bathroom. But the house is comfortable, clean, and tasteful.
The back house, with the driveway on the left, was cozy with amazing mid-century modern furniture. I was wondering if the 3 sofas could be re-arranged to surround the coffee table to make a conversation pit and still be able to watch TV (if you do, that is). Open end of the conversation pit would be to the back sliders heading out to the porch. The house was full of character and enjoyed exploring all the rooms. The weather was cold and overcast with the sun showing up in the evenings but we did not mind. We figured out heating right away and it was all good. Honestly the cooler temps had us sleeping really well along with the adventures we went on all over Sonoma & Marin county. Stunning views everywhere we went in Bodega Bay and beyond. I would come back again as the location is quiet with lots of good food close by. There is also a grocery nearby in case your forgot anything. I miss seeing the purple & periwinkle conical flowers by the side of the road - pride of madeiras? I always knew we were close to the house once we started to see them going north after the un-manned one-lane traffic light. Stephen was very responsive with all my questions and respectful of our privacy. Thank you for our lovely stay!
Wow! What a wonderful beach house. Spacious, stylish and private. Walking distance to the bay, restaurants, and a couple of small markets. Perfect for exploring the California coast. Very comfortable and the best value for the area. Stephen is an amazing host - the best!!
My family of all age ranges have stayed here before and loved it. We are nature lovers and very low key. It’s the perfect stay for exploring all that Bodega bay has to offer and clean and close to everything.
Wonderful place to explore Bodega Bay, Point Reyes, Jenner and points north on the pacific coast.
House is as described, with good kitchen and comfortrable bed. Location is GREAT for exploring the California Coast. Wonderful stay!!
Your host will not disappoint! Steve was on top of everything and what an authenticity genuine person! He loves the area and it shows!
The description of this VRBO is spot on so please don’t expect more. We love “old town” quaint and sometimes quirky, this VRBO fit the bill.
Thanks for everything, Steven!
We enjoyed the quiet and cozy home. We could walk down to the store easily and the drive to the ocean beach is not too far. The bed was comfortable and the shower/bath worked well. The bathroom sink could use a better hot water, otherwise all was very nice!
