Host was very untimely with responses, we lost power in below freezing temps and did not receive support for several hours. In contacting VRBO it was discovered the host had changed and no one had good contact info. The wifi did not work, the heaters were poor, the entry instructions and support was lacking and uncaring. To be fair, it very much seemed like the host had changed, or perhaps the usual host was out of touch and a company was covering during their absence, as many of the issues seemed to stem from confusion as opposed to deliberate neglect. Regardless was a very unpleasant and nerve wracking visit; will not be returning.

Location 200 yards from Puerta del Sol, Metro stop 50 yards away, and elevator (5th floor) were a big plus. Exterior and lobby entrance very attractive. Communication about check in was terrible - we never got check in and stay instructions. Agency and owner began communicating outside VRBO process. We had to get the key from the cleaning employee and then, when jet lagged, were delayed 2-1/4 hours to take possession due to cleaning. We got a weak apology and no offer of compensation. Couch was quality/comfort of stained frat house furniture. Floors were so dirty that our socks got caked with dust and we tracked dirt/grit into the bed. Dust bunnies on the night stand and in open floor corners, and the shower were mildewed. Documented in writing and photograph) & reported to agency/owner numerous damaged or missing items (including making the patio unusable) - with no acknowledgement. Clothes washer was a plus yet, despite no clothes dryer, there was no drying line/rack. Had to strew wet clothes across all the furniture to dry. Description of “penthouse” is misleading and only means it was five floors up. Again, location a plus. Space was sufficient. The rest fell well short of expectations.

The heart of Madrid

We enjoyed our stay as a family of four. The place was just as described and the host was attentive and available for any questions I had. There was plenty of shopping and dining options around, and lots of historic places to visit close by.

A prefect location and sweet rental apartment

The location is great, easy to go anyway. The apartment is perfect. They provide the most comfortable bed and cozy living room. Love to be back if I visit Madrid again.

Great place to stay.

This amazing place has the best location. Right in the heart of the city and next to the metro for easy access to the entire city. We loved it. Stayed with my girlfriend and my daughter. It was great to have two bathrooms.

In the heart of Madrid

The apartment was spacious and well equipped and very comfortable. It was steps away from Puerta de Sol and all the best sites in Madrid. It was the perfect spot for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay here very much. It is a fantastic location right in the heart of Madrid at Puerta del Sol. A grocery store right across the street and so many cafes and restaurants around the plaza we had a hard time choosing where to go each night for dinner. The Mercado de San Miguel is only a short walk away for great tapas and wine. That is always a great evening out. I can’t imagine a better place to stay.

Perfect Location

Sara, Personally checked us in and explained how everything worked, where the best shops and restaurants are located. Any questions we had Sara was quick to respond. This apartment is in a perfect location to explore the city, walking distance to almost all attractions and restaurants. For our first trip to Madrid it accommodated all our needs.

Very Active Location!

This apartment is less than 1 block from Puerta del Sol which is a very active location. We were there in early December and saw peace activists, holiday celebrations, visiting team football celebrations - all over 5 days. If you want to be in the middle of the activity, this place is for you. Construction & street cleaning can be heard once the people leave the area.

Right In the Heart of It All!

This property was wonderful! Penthouse Apartment has a nice patio off the kitchen and the unit is located right in the heart of Puerto Del Sol. We could walk to all the sites and shopping and restaurants were plentiful. Loved that the two bathrooms in the unit backed up to each other rather than the two rooms. Lot's going on in the vicinity. Although there is some street noise, there are metal window covers you can deploy to further mask night revelry so it never intruded on our sleep time. We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay during Jan2-3. The place was just as described and all the reviews are accurate in that it is clean and cute and in great proximity to restaurants and stores. The grocery store across the street was so convenient and there is even a starbucks in there. It is also very noisy, there's a place nearby that starts music and a guy on a microphone around 12-2am. Then there's some construction around 8 am. Nothing that my white noise app and earplugs couldn't drown out, so it was fine. Great place to stay!

Fantastic apartment - clean and great location

The apartment is very clean, well equipped and located in the middle of everything. Its right opposite the department store Cortes Ingles, opposite the Metro Sol, walking distance of all sites Would recommend it. Only thing to be cautious about was the delays/failure in communication regarding inquiry and pick up. If the inquiry service would improve... there would be cause for complaint

The property was steps away from the Sol Metro and Square. Beautifully decorated and clean. It would have been great if an English speaking person and not someone who does not understand any English meets you on arrival so that all queries are answered satisfactorily. If not at least someone speaking English should call in and find out whether things are in order. WE enjoyed our stay very much. There is no Microwave oven or a kettle and hopefully these will be added to the otherwise well equipped kitchen. I would recommend the property to another.

Very central, cute space

The flat was very centrally located right off Puerta del Sol. It may be a bit too busy/noisy for some, but it's a perfect location from which to explore Madrid. Communication was all through WhatsApp messenger. Fernando provided instructions to download an app to unlock the building and apartment doors with bluetooth from your phone which worked fine. Once in the unit there was also a set of keys. The two bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms were fine, though the showers are tight. Kitchen had only basics, it would be nice if they had a bit more in terms of cooking utensils (a baking sheet for example). We especially liked the terrace; even though it was loud outside on the streets you really didn't hear it on the terrace since it's surrounded on all sides, so it was nice to have a glass of wine or a meal out there.

Great Location!

Unit was perfectly clean and steps away from the center of Madrid close to numerous shops and restaurants and a grocery store across the street. There was an issue checking in as the code did not work when my son arrived before us but an individual let him in and gave him a key to use instead. They also let him drop off his bags early before check-in which was nice. We also had another issue, which may have been due to our cell phone carrier, T-Mobile, in which, even though we had an international calling plan, none of our phone calls to the host could reach them and this was the case even when we had T-Mobile try to call them. After we were there a day or so, we discovered we could message the host using the phone number they gave us (which didn't work on our regular cell phone line) using WhatsApp. So if someone else has this issue, it would be good to use WhatsApp. One other thing we encountered was that the listing said there was a washer AND dryer, however, there was only a washer, no dryer..... in case that's important. However, they did have an outdoor clothesline, which we were able to use. Overall, the apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed and the location couldn't be better.

Great location!!

We chose this property because of a convenient location, and also because 4 adults wanted 2 bedrooms with queen beds, and 2 bathrooms. The property is in a very walkable location, with large department stores, small shops and cafes nearby. It is a pedestrian zone, but it is a very busy area. People walked the streets all night, and the bedrooms were vey noisy. There were A/C units in the bedroom, so open windows weren't necessary. The windows have roll-down storm shades, which kept out some noise, and definitely blocked sunlight. The bedrooms were OK, beds were comfortable, although the pillows were not. The sheets were just OK, and the towels were good, but no washcloths were provided. In fact, there were no dish towels in the kitchen. The bathrooms were adequate, although they both opened to a hallway, with no privacy from the other guests. The showers were very tight. The soap provided was barely adequate, so we were glad to have brought our own. The bathrooms had 1 small towel bar, and could have used some hooks for clothes, and a 2nd towel bar. The kitchen was very small, but adequate. There was no coffee pot, but the host brought one when we asked. The washer came in handy, but there was no dryer, so we hung clothes outside on the patio to dry in the sun. It was great having an elevator, and the security locks on main door, and apartment door were very good. The unit had a few things that needed repair but overall was comfortable and adequate.
