This apartment is wonderful and the location is terrific! My husband, adult daughters, and I were comfortable, and the place was clean and cozy. As others have commented, one nice feature is the quiet. There are a number of restaurants and a metro stop quite close to the apartment which is very convenient. We especially loved La Taberna Carmencita for a wonderful dinner (not inexpensive but worth it). The guidbook provided by the host was very helpful. There are a few things that can be improved: 1) one towel had dark stains all over it, and our fitted sheet had a small stain as well, so these should be replaced, 2) one of the lightswitch covers in the living room was broken, and most important, 3) although the guidebook says you can walk to the apartment from the Atocha train station in about 15 minutes, and it is actually 28 minutes (all 4 of us are active and fit and were walking quickly, only pulling small carry-on bags). Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but Gorete, the host messaged me that Nisbeth, the cleaning person had to go let guests into a different apartmen. We were racing there to meet her, and it was quite stressful wondering if we would be let in. Thankfully, we made it in time.Communication was a problem as Gorete didn't respond to my questions regarding transportation. She initially apologized for the delay, saying she had guests for brunch, but she never responded to my last message at all. This has never happened to us with VRBO before.
