Enjoy your own peaceful retreat on Lake Avalon — a secure, private walk-out suite with water views from every window. Perfect for couples or solo travelers seeking quiet mornings, easy lake access, and a comfortable home base just minutes from Bella Vista amenities.

The Green Door on Lake Avalon is a private walk-out basement apartment with beautiful lake views from every window. This is a fully private walk-out suite — your own entrance and outdoor area — ideal for uninterrupted rest and relaxation.

If navigating slopes and multiple steps is difficult, this space may not be the best fit.

Sunsets here are something special — whether you're watching from inside or relaxing on the chair swing, the view and sounds of nature are unforgettable.

Inside, you’ll find a clawfoot tub for a vintage-style soak — perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine.
The kitchenette, cleverly tucked into a cabinet, includes a microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven/air fryer, and a plug-in induction cooktop with a pan provided. A small fridge, dishwasher, and basic dishware are also available.

The apartment has one bedroom and a convertible couch in the living area, allowing space for up to four guests. A washer and dryer are provided for your convenience.

Please note: the home’s upper level is occupied by your host, but the spaces are securely separated. You may occasionally hear footsteps, but I aim to keep things quiet and respectful of your privacy.

The driveway is steep, and guests will walk down a lit pathway with steps to reach the wrap-around deck and private entrance.

If you’d like lake access, I’ll be happy to request guest passes on your behalf. This is a private POA lake, and passes must be arranged in advance using each guest’s first and last name and email address. A small lake use fee (currently $6/day) is required and can be paid at The Beach, just a 5-minute drive away.

Stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was an amazing weekend! The property was perfect for a relaxing getaway, beautifully maintained, and in a great location. Michelle was an outstanding host—her ascetic abilities made everything feel effortlessly simple yet perfectly taken care of, with thoughtful touches everywhere. We especially loved the trips out on the pontoon along with some good bass catches; they were the highlight of our stay and created some wonderful memories on the water. Highly recommend this place for couples or families looking for a memorable escape. We’ll definitely be back! We loved the Bentonville downtown area, so much to do!

This property is absolutely gorgeous. You are right on the water and the accommodations are very nice. However, if you have any kind of physical problems, the stairs are very hard to get up and down. I do not recommend anyone with knee or back problems to stay here. Also, the kitchen is not really a kitchen. It's a microwave and toaster oven and a small refrigerator.

The reason we booked this listing was for the location on the lake and the outdoor amenities. The outdoor space was very appealing and relaxing. Many outdoor seating options to enjoy the views of the lake. Michelle is a great host. She and her husband go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. They took us out on the lake in their pontoon on two nights. The indoor space was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. My daughter's favorite part was the chocolate Michelle left on the kitchen table. We intend to stay at this location again in the future.

Everything was furnished and very charming.The view was relaxing. The only drawback is that the steps to get to the cottage were not meant for elderly or people with bad knees. I hate to write a good review, because I want the property available when I want to use it! I arrived towards dark and Michelle met me outside and walked me down to the entrance. She was pleasant and accomodating. The space itself is wonderful, smaller, but plenty of space for my purpose. It had a lot of amenities that I didn't even get to use during my limited time there, but that view! That alone was worth it.

I adore gardening, designing cozy spaces, and crafting outdoor areas that feel peaceful and a little whimsical (you may even spot a fairy or gnome or two). When the weather’s right, I often offer evening pontoon rides, my favorite way to enjoy the lake and connect with guests.

Hosting is my happy place, and I look forward to sharing this beautiful corner of Bella Vista with you.

For adventure and exploration, there are scenic trails just up the road, and The Beach at Lake Avalon is only a 5-minute drive away. You’re also close to some of the region’s best attractions, including Crystal Bridges Museum, world-class golf courses, and the stunning Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel.

Tucked into the landscape, you'll discover a waterfall that adds the perfect soundtrack to peaceful mornings or evening wine on the dock.

And keep your eyes open — down by the lake, you might spot Penelope, our resident mermaid. Officially known as Princess Penelope Purfleet of Lake Avalon, she brings a bit of whimsy and charm to your stay. Kids and adults alike love finding her tucked near the water, keeping watch over the cove.
