Dove’s Perch is an efficiency studio situated in the southwest corner of the property and often drenched in the warm glow of morning sun. Furnished with family antiques and mementos, it makes for a sweet and cozy home away from home. The bedroom is wrapped in soothing lavender color, and along with a comfy queen bed promotes a wonderfully restful night’s sleep. The sitting room is a separate space with armchairs for reading, a hostess bar (with small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and dishware), and a dining table for two.
Dove's Perch is one of two units in Robin’s Nest Boarding House, which is just five minutes from the heart of Port Townsend. Infused with color, the style integrates the casual elegance of the past with the contemporary comfort of the present. This is the perfect place for travelers who are looking for a modestly priced, spotlessly clean and restful place to lodge.
We are located on top of Castle Hill, near the century old and reportedly haunted Manresa Castle. It's a short walk to see some wonderful views of the Port Townsend's historical skyline. Uptown and downtown are both 1.7 miles east and Fort Worden is just 2 miles to the north. The total radius of Port Townsend is a little over 9 miles, so everything is close by.

A very comfortable 2 room suite.

We expected a typical efficiciency single room accomodation..like a hotel room. But were pleased to see that it in fact a seperate bedroom..Much more space to relax in. Robin is a great host, and she takes a lot of pride in caring for the rooms--and is a proud host.The accomodations are "spotless" and well prepared fro each guestShe provided excellent resturant recommendations as well

This is a lovely little spot. The only downside is it doesn’t have a kitchenette which we prefer. It’s very close to downtown but not in it which we love. A sweet garden in a quiet neighborhood.

Lovely Getaway

Everything described in the listing is accurate. Check-in and check-out is flawless. Host provides a Keurig machine with coffee/tea and a microwave. She also supplies some granola bars for those who like a quick and go breakfast. Mini fridge and bowls/plates provided allows you to have breakfast or yogurt in the mornings. Robin is clearly a professional hotelier with a keen eye for detail and thoughtfulness. Dove's Perch is a very comfortable one-bedroom suite with a private bathroom. Very nicely decorated, as is the entire property, with parking just across a narrow street. She very thoughtfully provided everything you might need during my stay. The only downsides are that you are in someone else's house and so you are expected to clean up after yourself and keep noise to a minimum but I didn't find that a difficult or unreasonable requirement. And, there's only a kitchenette, not a full kitchen with a stove and oven, but the kitchenette is well-stocked with coffee and tea machines, a microwave, and a good sized refrigerator/freezer. I was very comfortable there during my week stay. I did find that I longed for a slightly more comfortable chair in the living room, more like a pub chair than a dining chair. There is such a chair in the bedroom but somehow I wanted to use my laptop in the living room and not the bedroom. Space in the living room is limited but I think it might work if the mirror shelf and TV stand was removed and the TV hung on the wall, and then move the TV South to the corner and locate two pub chairs across from it, and then move the dining table and chairs Northward towards the kitchenette. Just a small suggestion for a nearly ideal space.

Entry to property is through a beautiful flower garden with water features with a few places to sit and enjoy. The unit was nicely appointed and had sufficient kitchenette to make breakfast or snacks. It is on the edge of town so very quiet. Robin pointed me in the right direction for some local activities. Overall a great stay.
