The Space:

Onetangi Lookout is arranged across three staggered levels, following the natural slope of the property and making the most of its elevated outlook across Onetangi.



The entrance and main living spaces are on the top level. The open-plan kitchen, dining area, and lounge form a bright central space, with large sliding doors framing the sea views and connecting the living area to outdoor seating. These upper outdoor areas provide several places to sit, relax, and enjoy the outlook throughout the day.



A compact bathroom with a shower and toilet is located on this level, along with the laundry, which includes a washing machine and dryer.



The main bedroom is one level below the living area. It has a queen bed and air conditioning, with the home’s larger bathroom located alongside it. This bathroom includes a shower-over-bath.



The second bedroom occupies the lowest level and has a super-king bed that can be arranged as two single beds when requested before arrival. It also has a ceiling fan and direct access to the lower outdoor area.



Please note that this bedroom sits on its own floor and is separate from the main living areas and upper bedroom. It is open to the internal stairwell rather than being enclosed by a bedroom door.



The lower outdoor area includes a BBQ, outdoor seating, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. It can also be reached externally from the front of the house, so guests can access the courtyard without walking through the lower bedroom.



The split-level layout provides separation between the two sleeping areas and works well for couples, friends, or a small family comfortable with stairs and bedrooms on different levels.

The Neighborhood:

Onetangi Lookout is set above Onetangi Beach, within a comfortable walk of the sand, local cafés, and restaurants.



Onetangi Beach is a long, wide beach suited to swimming and walking. Dining options near the beachfront include Charlie Farley’s, Three Seven Two, and Ki Māha.



Casita Miro, Stonyridge, and Tantalus are also nearby. The Heke brewery and distillery can be reached by car or local bus.



The location provides convenient access to the beach, dining, wineries, and public transport without requiring long drives around the island.



Getting Around:

Onetangi is well connected, and buses run regularly from the beach. From here they stop at major wineries, including The Heke, before continuing into Oneroa village and down to the passenger ferry at Matiatia.



If you’re arriving with a vehicle, the drive from the ferry is around 12 minutes, and the route is simple. Parking is available at the property.



Other Things to Note:

This is a self-catered holiday home, not a fully catered stay. We provide a starter supply of essentials such as toilet paper, coffee, tea, and milk to help you settle in on arrival. Once these starter items have been used, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional supplies needed during their stay.



Beach towels are provided at properties with an available pool or spa. Guests staying at properties without a pool or spa will need to bring their own beach towels.
