A great stay

Great relaxing spot with perfect backyard for our small dog. The gardens are lovely and add to charm of this property. Comfy and great location.

Lovely home away from home. Really well appointed and cosy - with everything you need for a great break - including those that like to cook. Great welcome - heaters and lights on for our evening arrival! We all loved the locale - including the dog. So great to be able to bring our dog, for the full ‘family’ experience. Te Awanga is one of our favourite spots - so we’ll be back.

Excellent place for a break

Brief staycation

Have stayed at Crabtree cottage previously and find it suits us and our dogs very well . Despite the appalling weather we were warm and cosy . Would love to saty again

The cutest hideaway in Hawkes Bay

We had a great weekend in the cottage - so cozy and comfortable. Comfy bed, and all amenities of a good quality. Our dog also had a fun weekend, it's great that the backyard is enclosed so perfect for dogs. We'd definitely return.

Fabulous Cottage

Fabulous cosy cottage, perfect for a week of relaxing. Wonderfully decorated and so comfortable. Also in a peaceful spot only a short drive from Havelock North and the beach and great flat cycle trails right on the doorstep. Communication with the owner was excellent. Thoroughly recommend this home.

Superb Location

Stayed in this property a few years ago and such a wonderful spot just a short stroll to the Beach, biking distance to Shops and Elephant Hill and other wineries. Clean presentation as previously, just the dining table chairs could do with some R&M now.

Wonderful Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Crabtree Cottage. The location is amazing and means you can have your morning coffee while strolling along the beach. We loved going for a bike ride around the area and Havelock North is a short car ride away for breakfast, lunch or dinner options. The property itself came equipped with everything you need and was sufficiently warm on a pretty cold winters night. Would highly recommend!

Te Awanga Cottage

The property is a little tired but everything one requires for a stay is provided. The cottage is situated on a relatively busy road before accessing the beach. Overall a perfect location for exploring vineyards and beaches in the vicinity. Thank Phil for your hospitality!

Thanks for your feedback Rebecca. Yes, we make no pretensions about the kiwi bach shabby chic style of Crabtree. It’s a relaxed feel we like as do many of our regular returnees. But happy to concede it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, different strokes for different folks I guess.

Charming, delightful, tastefully furnished cottage

Phil and Nicky were very accommodating and easy to deal with. The cottage was very comfortable and had all the amenities you need. The cottage is in a great location near Cape Kidnappers, the beach and vineyards. We hope to return soon!!! Trevor

Great place to relax for a week

We visited all three local vineyards, Elephant Hill (great wine tasting), Clearview (great lunch) and Te Awanga Estate - best to book ahead as they all got fully booked at lunchtime and people were turned away. Took the bikes for a spin up the coastal path but otherwise just chilled out in the back garden. Was lovely sitting in the covered area out the back, even when it was raining. Very convenient for nipping into Havelock North to stock up on supplies, but Te Awanga has a great seaside village feel. All in all a great stay.
