Classic Kiwi bach experience. We were pleasantly surprised by how kitted out it was - all kitchen appliances, some extra pantry staples, puzzle/games, basically everything you would have in an actual home. We really enjoyed our stay and the host was quick to respond if we had any issues. Very cosy little Hanmer retreat, we would love to stay again some time!

The hot tub was a bonus. Beds were comfortable. No dishwasher. Property is showing its age. All bedrooms are downstairs which can make them cold in the winter but they do supply electric blankets. Log fire kept it very warm upstairs. Probably not great for the elderly due to steps and stairs. Front door entrance and steps to it could do with a tidy up and a covered porch.

Lots of space, but lots of overdue maintenance, and decor a bit tired and battered. Despite the hot tub being advertised as a major attraction, there is an extra charge of 30 a day to use it, with the surcharge buried in the small print. Oven and cordless vacuum didn't work ( plug in vacuum and air fryer available). Driveway also steep & slippery

We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments, as we work hard to maintain and continually improve the property. Most of the property has recently been repainted, features new bedding, and is furnished in a country-style design with quality solid wood and leather furnishings, which many guests appreciate. Following your review, we checked the appliances. The oven is operating correctly and the instruction manual is provided in the property for guest reference. The cordless vacuum is also fully functional when charged, and a plug-in vacuum and air fryer are available for guest convenience. Regarding the cedar hot tub, the optional daily usage fee is disclosed in the listing details prior to booking. This allows guests who do not wish to use the hot tub to benefit from a lower accommodation rate. The driveway is steep, as noted in the listing; however, roadside parking is also available for guests who prefer an alternative parking option. We appreciate all guest feedback and will continue investing in the property to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for future visitors.
