Excellent two couple getaway! Great location as it was close to great wineries, distilleries, breweries, and restaurants. Close to the main road but the noise was not a significant issue. As other noted it was fun to follow the ponies out when sitting on the deck. Portable freezer on the back porch was satisfactory for our stay but could be problematic if the weather is rainy/snowy/cold. "Stay Charlottesville" changed the door code on the day we arrived so getting into the place after a long drive was not a good first impression. A quick call resolved this problem. Overall, we would reserve again.

This location was great. We traveled to VA for a wedding and rented this with another couple. The location is in a beautiful spot. We got to enjoy watching the horses nearby and the other critters like hedgehogs and turkeys! The cottage is very clean and spacious, and had all the amenities we needed.

Great stay in a cute place

We came out for a wedding and stayed in the cute home. Everything was as advertised. Well stocked with the essentials, clean, convenient, and comfortable. The location is great for Skyline Drive, restaurants, and sights. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cute little house, perfect for two couples weekend getaway. The house was clean, comfortable and had the kitchen essentials to make simple meals. This house is very conveniently located to plenty of wineries, breweries and distilleries. We enjoyed food at Belties and Paulies Pig out and found plenty of short hiking trails in the area.

Charming cottage, perfect for 2 couples spending the weekend in Virginia's wine region. We loved watching the horses immediately behind the cottage while enjoying morning coffee. Another highlight was walking across the road to have a casual, delicious dinner at the Scratch Kitchen while listening to a band. We were a short drice to numerous wineries and loved walking the Blue Ridge tunnel trail. GREAT property and we would love to visit again!

The bedrooms are very small. Only one bedroom has a very small closet. Neither bedroom has a dresser. Both bathrooms are nice. Parts of the description are misleading. The cottage is located right on a very busy, noisy road. There is no fireplace or office. There are no wineries close enough to walk to. Silverback Distillery is also too far away to walk to because the road is too busy. We did not see a freezer on the back deck. The plates and glasses are stored on open shelves so they have to be washed or wiped out to remove the dust before using them. There is only one place that serves food nearby -a brewery that closes at 7:00.

Perfect place for 2 couples

Better than advertised. Kitchen has everything needed. Perfect for two couples. Comfy firm beds. Beautiful views- enjoyed watching the horses out back and the roaming deer. The brewery across the street has a fantastic scratch kitchen food truck - and great staff. Would love to book again in the near future.

The layout is perfect for a small family. It felt very nice and clean. They also provided everything we needed. The washer and dryer were very convenient. Only thing is that everything felt far. No nearby Walmart, target, quick drive thru, etc.

This cottage was a wonderful getaway for us! The space was exactly as shown in the listing and the small kitchen served us well for some nights eating in. There are a few horses on the property next door that were so fun to watch! The property is on a busy road but the windows are very well insulated and noise at night was never an issue. The beds are quite firm and the bedding traps heat, so if you’re a cool sleeper maybe bring your own blanket. The house also came stocked with all the soaps and things which is always appreciated. All in all it was a great week relaxing in Afton.
